AS THE WORLD TURNS Feature

The "Jackson" Three: Julia (Sarah Brown), Jack (Michael Park) and J.J. (then-Dylan Denton) made a happy family before Jack remembered he already had one.
— Lorenzo Bevilaqua/PGP

The Children's Hour

J.J. Larrabee (Snyder?)
J.J. had a tough upbringing as he and his mother, Julia, fled from town to town to escape his abusive father, Les. When amnesiac Jack was found in Missouri, Julia became his nurse and both she and her son fell in love with him. After a threat from Les, Jack wed Julia and, with J.J., they became a family. But when Jack got his memory back, his love for J.J. didn't go away — he and Carly became the boy's guardians after Julia was murdered. We're just not sure what his last name is these days.

It's About Thyme: Jack (Michael Park) and Carly (Maura West) were at their happiest when they welcomed Sage.
— Lorenzo Bevilaqua/PGP

Sage Snyder
Carly and Jack's only biological child together was conceived around the time of their 2002 wedding, on the eve of which, unfortunately, Carly had had a one-night-stand with Mike (after a devastating fight with Jack). Sage was born with the assistance of midwife Hannah in Montana, just before Jack remarried Carly in 2003. Soon after, it was confirmed that Sage was indeed his daughter. Incidentally, her name was decided during the birth, when Carly noted that their daughter would have to be a strong, wise woman to "survive" them and Jack agreed that she would have to be a "sage." It was actually chosen by the real-life daughter of ATWT Head Writer Jean Passanante.

Half & Half: Daniel's got a nutty mom, Emily (Kelley Menighan Hensley), and a straight-arrow dad, Tom (Scott Holmes).
— Jim Antonucci/PGP

Daniel Hughes
Conceived from a one-night-stand between Emily and Tom, Daniel was born in 1999, hours before his mother was shipped off to jail for murder because she had killed a guard while escaping from David, who had kidnapped her during her pregnancy — though no one believed her story. Soon after, Em faked insanity to postpone her trial date. Now, she really is kind of nutty, but at least Daniel has stable Tom and Margo to look after him when his mother is scheming. Still, Emily has packed up Daniel to flee the country on more than one occasion, though she's never actually gone through with it. Daniel is named after his maternal grandfather, Dan Stewart.

Believe Me, Natalie: A second baby girl was a Christmas miracle for the Snyders.
— Lorenzo Bevilaqua/PGP

Natalie Snyder
Ah, Natalie. Welcomed by a (briefly) blissfully happy Lily and Holden on Christmas day, 2002, her only trauma was being born at home. Her name literally means Christmas Day, and was also chosen by Passanante's daughter.
