Wind-Up: Barbara wings it
— Lorenzo Bevilaqua/PGP

Bad, Bad Barbara

April, 2003
Emily, Rose and Craig kidnapped Barbara to keep her out of BRO. She escaped and interrupted Craig and Rosanna's wedding, demanding they be arrested. Jack learned that Barbara was telling the truth and was forced to arrest them. Barbara made a deal with Craig — she dropped the charges when Craig sold her Monte Carlo for $1.

Looming Presence: Barbara and Paul (Roger Howarth)
— Lorenzo Bevilaqua/PGP

May, 2003
Paul discovered Rose and Dusty together and that Barbara had paid Dusty to break up him and Rose. He left town and Barbara was devastated when he was presumed dead after a plane crash.

July, 2003
Paul returned alive and declared war on Barbara. Barbara wasn't happy when Paul and Rose later reconciled.

Doors of Perception: Barbara makes a grab for Will (Brett Groneman), Hal grabs Barbara
— Lorenzo Bevilaqua/PGP

November, 2003
Determined to keep Paul and Rose apart, Barbara spray-painted graffiti in Paul's apartment and asked Will to take the fall for it so Paul wouldn't leave town with Rose. Her plan backfired and she ended up losing the right to see Will alone. She then hired a hit man to off Rose but had a change of heart at the last minute.

December, 2003
Dressed as a nun, Barbara aimed a gun at Rose on her wedding day. Hal caught her, but Barbara insisted she just wanted to scare her future daughter-in-law enough to call off the wedding. When Rose dropped dead later that day after Paul dumped her at the altar, she feared Paul may have killed her so she stole evidence and planted it in Molly's room.

January, 2004
No one was that shocked when Barbara confessed to killing Rose. But guess what? She wasn't guilty, but she knew who was — Will. She knocked Emily out so she could get to Will and prepared to leave the country with him, but Paul got to them first. Barbara was crushed when Will was sent to a psychiatric facility. Unbeknownst to Barbara, Paul vowed to make his mother pay while returning to the family fold and business.

Oh, Aye: Walker (Real Andrews) gives Barbara a headache
— Lorenzo Bevilaqua/PGP

March, 2004
Barbara started having vision problems and Walker informed her she has a brain tumor that needs to be operated on immediately. "She is more human than she's been in years," quips her portrayer Colleen Zenk Pinter. Will it last? Don't bet on it!
