1993-94
As Eric's marriage to Brooke floundered, he started keeping company with Sheila Carter. When a paternity test proved Ridge was Bridget's father, Eric divorced Brooke and popped the question to Sheila, oblivious to her criminal past. Lauren (the daughter of Eric's late pal, Neil Fenmore) knew about Sheila's crimes and was intent on exposing her. However, Sheila blackmailed Lauren into keeping quiet and wed Eric. The marriage soon encountered problems when Sheila started working as Brooke's assistant (Brooke had taken over 51 percent of Forrester Creations).

1995-96
Marital problems mounted as Sheila grew insecure about Eric's closeness to Stephanie, who'd never stopped loving him. He got a vasectomy, however since it had been done without his wife's knowledge, Sheila had grounds for a hefty settlement. Eric obtained a divorce anyway when Sheila was sent to a mental institution after holding the Forrester family at gunpoint. Eric found himself attracted to former daughter-in-law Taylor, who was divorced from Ridge. One night, they kissed, but out of loyalty to Stephanie, Taylor refused to get more involved. Once again, Sally ripped off some Forrester designs, but to convince her not to present them as Spectra originals, Eric romanced her. He publicly proposed to Sal, who yanked the pilfered designs from her show. Later, she was upset to learn that their relationship had been a charade. Meanwhile, on the homefront, the Forrester clan was shocked to find out that Bridget's paternity test had been rigged. Eric is her biological father.

1997-98
Eric developed major hots for Lauren who, like Taylor, didn't want to hurt Stephanie. Later, Lauren changed her mind. Before she could let Eric know, he proposed to Stephanie. Upon hearing of Lauren's feelings for Eric, Steph declared war. Lauren then aggressively pursued her man. She got him into bed, but that didn't change Eric's plans to remarry Stephanie. However, Steph found out about the one-night stand while they were literally standing at the altar and called off the wedding. Another crisis arose when an entire Forrester collection was hijacked by Sally. To avert financial ruin, the family went to Italy to showcase a new collection, which was a smashing success. Eric asked Stephanie to marry him in Italy, but the bride was stranded on her way to the church, so he assumed that he'd been stood up. Eric took off in a private jet bound for the U.S., with Lauren as a last-minute passenger. They crashed in Greenland and endured weeks of hardship before being rescued. Back home, Eric and Stephanie still planned to tie the knot, but he was disillusioned by her unrelenting interference in Brooke and Ridge's marriage. The last straw came when he witnessed Steph raging at Brooke. Eric announced that they were finished and he rebounded with Lauren.

1999-2002
When Stephanie suffered a stroke, Eric realized how much he still loved his ex-wife. They exchanged vows in her hospital room and she eventually made a full recovery. Eric was peeved when Stephanie's former beau, tycoon Massimo Marone set up operations in L.A. Mass had never gotten over Stephanie and tired to woo her back. She became so enraged when Eric fired a mutinous Ridge from Forrester that she moved into Massimo's penthouse (although they never hit the sheets). A lonesome Eric started spending time with Brooke, but she stopped it from getting serious.

2002-05
Eric and Stephanie renewed their wedding vows. Later, he walked out when she confessed that Massimo is Ridge's father. During this separation, Eric cozied up to Jackie. He was crushed when she accepted Massimo's proposal. Eric eventually reconciled with Stephanie. They were again on the outs when he found out that she had faked a heart attack to get Ridge to marry Taylor. Eric asked Brooke to marry him; she turned him down. He's now playing kissy-face with Jackie. Stephanie is not amused.
