For A Song

— By Devin Owens

You gotta check the 1/22 Digest to see the soap stars' answers to this Roundup question: What would your AMERICAN IDOL audition song be? But here, we recall some of B&B's most memorable musical moments.

1990

Darla (Schae Harrison)
— JON MCKEE

When Sally was asked to organize a charity event, she shifted into matchmaking mode by convincing her daughter, Macy, to coordinate the fund-raiser with the recently divorced Thorne. The couple decided on a variety show in which Darla channeled her inner Marilyn Monroe for a rendition of "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend." However, the real showstopper was when Macy and Thorne sang "What's Forever For" — and Donna discovered that she and her girlfriend were dating the same guy!

1994

Macy (Bobbie Eakes) and Thorne (then-Jeff Trachta)
— PINA DICOLA

Macy and Thorne were poised to be the next Sonny and Cher when they were asked to perform at a concert in Rotterdam. Prior to their trip, Macy was informed that her sore throat might be cancerous, but she kept quiet about the possible diagnosis so as not to jeopardize her and Thorne's big chance. The concert went on, but Macy collapsed backstage after the finale (she was eventually okay). B&B went on location to Amsterdam to tape the live performance before thousands of fans.

1998

Raymond (Usher) and Amber (Adrienne Frantz)
— JOHN PASCHAL/JPI

R&B superstar Usher appeared as Amber's high school chum, Raymond, who was now a famous signer. Amber joined him for a duet at Insomnia. Afterward, Raymond asked her to come along on his musical tour. Since Amber was jonesing for her own singing career, she enthusiastically accepted and they celebrated by getting drunk and having sex. But when Amber woke up in his hotel room the next morning, Raymond was gone — and so were her dreams.

1998

Dionne Warwick
— JOHN PASCHAL/JPI

In her quest to extract Eric from Stephanie's clutches, Lauren penned a love song for her man, and wanted to make sure it was presented to him in a dramatic fashion. To that end, Ms. Fenmore tapped her old pal Dionne Warwick (That's what friends are for, right?) to warble the ballad for a surprised Eric at Cafe Russe. Incidentally, a bluesy version of B&B's theme song was used as the melody.

2003

Macy
— JESSE GRANT/JPI

It was literally lights out for Macy when she agreed to sing at the opening of Oscar's new nightclub, Oz. While taking a bow onstage, her performance hit a sour note when the gi-normous chandelier overhead came crashing down on the chanteuse. Macy was critically injured and languished in a coma before a grieving Sally had the plug pulled.

2007

Constantine (Constantine Maroulis) and Phoebe (MacKenzie Mauzy)
— AARON MONTGOMERY/JPI

After Rick and Phoebe revealed their latent warbling talents, AMERICAN IDOL alum Constantine Maroulis came on board to play Constantine, a record producer anxious to make Phoebe a star. Rick and Constantine clashed, so the guys agreed to a challenge: Each would performed with Phoebe and let an Internet audience pick the winning duet. At a charity concert featuring singers John McLaughlin and Elliot Yamin (another IDOL alum), Constantine and Phoebe were announced as the victors.
