Checking In With Ignacio Serricchio

— By Mala Bhattacharjee

Soap Opera Weekly: When you found out that Diego was the PCU stalker, were you worried that he can’t come back from such a dark turn?
Ignacio Serricchio: I think it should play as realistically as possible. If he comes back, he comes back. I think everybody has that [dark] side. I don’t know if it’s because he’s a bad person. I think it’s the teenage hormones that really got to him. You hear of kids that are wonderful human beings and all of a sudden they snap — and it comes out of nowhere. So, it’s more of a psychological thing. It doesn’t matter if he comes back or not. I’m good to go both ways.

Weekly: You guest-starred on FOX’s HOUSE this season. What was that like?
Serricchio: That was actually the biggest challenge I’ve had acting-wise so far — because I’m Italian and Hispanic and we’re very physical, with our gestures, and I was laying on a bed for the whole show. It all had to come internally. I couldn’t move my hands. I couldn’t move at all. So, it was amazing. It was a lot of fun.

Weekly: What’s Hugh Laurie (Dr. Gregory House) like?
Serricchio: He’s a goofball. He’s amazing. He’s really very approachable. At first, it was intimidating — for the first two seconds. And then it was just like, "Bring it on. I can roll with these guys!"
