Harley (Beth Ehlers) and her daughter, Susan (Brittany Slattery) with Dylan (Morgan Englund)
— Robin Platzer/One Time Reproduction

GL Moms and Daughters

— By Melissa Scardaville

Harley and Daisy/Susan
Teenage Harley (Beth Ehlers) gave birth to her first child, Daisy, in 1987. Wanting the little girl to have a better life than she could provide, she put her up for adoption; thus began Daisy's life as Susan Lemay. When the biological father, Dylan (Morgan Englund), showed up in Springfield in 1989, the ex-lovers became fixated on getting their child back. Harley's husband, Alan-Michael, wanted to get back into his wife's good graces, so he kidnapped Susan (Brittany Slattery). But Harley returned the girl to her family and got on with her life. Today, Harley has two little boys, Zach and Jude, and keeps in touch with Susan, who is away at boarding school.

Reva (Kim Zimmer) and Marah (Ashley Peldon)
— Dean Michaels

Reva and Marah
Marah was the apple of mother Reva's (Kim Zimmer) eye when she was born in 1987. Marah's first few months were smooth sailing, but a crazed Sonni/Solita caused the mom and daughter to not spend too much time together. After the chaos abated, Marah (Ashley Peldon) took part in her parents' wedding in 1989. The following year, Shayne was born, and Reva suffered from postpartum depression. She drove off a bridge, and Marah lost her mom. When Reva resurfaced in 1995, the pair had a hard time reconnecting; Marah considered Annie to be her mother. Over time, Reva and Marah grew closer, but their relationship was often rocky, given Reva's penchant for the dramatic. This year, however, Reva put everything else aside and helped exonerate Marah from a murder rap.

Roger (Michael Zaslow) and Chrissy (Cheryl Lynn Brown)

Holly and Christina/Blake
Holly (Maureen Garrett) gave birth to Christina in 1975. She tried to pass the tot off as husband Ed's baby, but soon the truth came out — Roger (Michael Zaslow) was the biological dad. Holly and Roger married to give Chrissy a home, but she wasn't too happy with her hubby -- or her daughter's bond with him. Holly planned to run away with Chrissy, but Roger refused to let her out of the house and raped her. She later shot Roger, and while she was in jail, Chrissy lived with Ed and his wife, Rita, who wasn't too happy about the arrangement. When Roger turned up alive, Holly fled with Chrissy (Cheryl Lynn Brown) to Santo Domingo, where Roger met his "death." Mom and daughter moved to Switzerland. Although not much is known about those years, they've never been described as pleasant ones. By 1988, Holly and Christina (who was now going by her middle name, Blake) had returned to Springfield, where they were often unable to hold a civil conversation. This animosity intensified when Roger reappeared, and Blake tried to forge a relationship with her dad. The breaking point occurred in 1992, when Blake seduced Holly's lover, Ross. Holly responded by severing her ties with Blake -- and pushing her into the country club pool. Nowadays, Holly and Blake have buried the hatchet, but they don't appear to see much of each other.

Ed (Peter Simon) and Maureen (Ellen Parker) with Michelle (Rachel Miner)

Maureen and Michelle
Although Claire originally wanted to be a part of her biological child's life, Michelle (Rachel Miner) actually grew up basking in the love of father Ed (Peter Simon) and adoptive mother Maureen (Ellen Parker). From bake sales to homework help, Maureen made time for her little girl. Mo's tragic death in 1993 threw Michelle into a tailspin, and she latched onto Holly as a mother figure (much to Blake's chagrin). In recent years, Michelle has been visited several times by her adoptive mom's spirit and still talks about her to this day.
