Quickie Q&A With Bradley Cole
— By Danielle McClure
Times are turbulent for GL's Jeffrey who, in a matter of weeks, spilled Ava's big paternity secret (on her wedding day!), broke up, then reconciled with his main squeeze, Reva, and welcomed the birth of his grandchild. This week, the highs and lows continue as he's forced to make a heartbreaking decision regarding Ava's health (check out the 8/5 issue, which is on sale this week, for more) and begins wedding plans with Reva. Yep, it's back on! Digest caught up with portrayer Bradley Cole to get the scoop on, well, everything.
Soap Opera Digest: So, let's talk "Jeffeva." They had a break and now they're back together. What's Jeffrey's take on all the drama?
Bradley Cole: Jeffrey's madly in love with Reva, but they have all this stuff going on, and then Reva's preoccupation with the movie of her life and it's a big sort of barrier between them. He's very much devoted to Reva.
 |
Hey, Good Lookin': Jeffrey (Bradley Cole) and Reva (Kim Zimmer) are happy in love ... for now.
|
Digest: They're really getting married this time?
Cole: There are two or three or four different moments where they say that and each time there seems to be something else in their lives that's complicating things. Reva has the movie, initially, so that throws a monkey wrench into things, and then Jeffrey has all this going on now with Ava. He's also trying to construct a case against Grady. As a matter of fact, this stimulates Jeffrey to actually say, "Let's do it!" because he just wants to try and forget about everything and he doesn't want to hold up things.
Digest: Why does Jeffrey feel it's necessary to ask Hawk for Reva's hand in marriage (which he does this week)?
Cole: Jeffrey shows up because he knows that Hawk has visions of things being like they used to be, and he believes in Josh and Reva. So, Jeffrey doesn't dislike Hawk, but he realizes that Hawk is trying to put a wedge into things.
Digest: What happens?
Cole: He arrives at Hawk's door with a bottle of the finest bourbon. They sort of hash things out man-to-man and Jeffrey explains to him and asks him properly for his daughter's hand in marriage. Of course, he ends up getting the door slammed in his face [laughs], but then he brings out the secret weapon, which is the bottle of bourbon.
 |
Decent Proposal: Reva's protective pop, Hawk (Gil Rogers), gives Jeffrey — and his bourbon — a shot.
|
Digest: Viewers are seeing a new, softer side of Jeffrey, no?
Cole: All this stuff's catching up with Jeffrey. He's always been an independent person and he's always been on the margins of Springfield society and has never really had to invest his emotions like he's doing now. He's got a [premature] grandson.... So, he's completely out of sorts. He doesn't know how to deal with this and Jeffrey's always someone who, his whole life, has been taught and trained how to deal with things because he's never really invested his emotions. Now, he has family, in a sense. Reva, he considers his family. He's got Olivia and Ava and now he has a grandson. So, it's very, very confusing and a disturbing time for him.
Digest: Jeffrey's dealing with emotions and he's still diligently working on that Grady case. Is there a meltdown in his future?
Cole: It's festering in him and he's pouring it all into his work and he's determined now, at all costs, to nail Grady and then he wants to go after Alan. He's putting all of his feelings and laying that on to Tammy's death, which he wants to vindicate for both Ava and Cassie.
Digest: I smell trouble ahead!
Cole: That's obviously something that's going to cause friction with other people ... and Reva!

Bradley Cole is the best. His good looks and appeal deserve much attention. He should definitely win Reva over Josh. Go Jeffrey! Josh can't compare to the sexy Bradley Cole. Jeffrey is the best actor on GL.
I really love Reva with Jeffrey, but I am really torn about whether she should marry Jeffrey. It really seems hard to believe that Josh left Cassie so quick and it took the movie to for him to realize what he wants. I have been watching the show since I was in junior high and a huge Josh & Reva fan!! Over the years, I've cried when Reva cries because it is just so heart wrenching (great acting!) and when she jumped into that icy pond at the end of the show on a Friday, my world was turned upside down until I saw them get her out of the water on Monday. These are all great actors and I am really enjoy the storylines they are involved in. Sorry Jeffrey because I think you are really HOT, but I hope that Josh & Reva reunite. I never miss an episode of GL even if I am on vacation as I will watch it on my laptop!
I am a huge fan of GL. As a child my mom loved GL and we had to sit quitely and watch with her. I'm hooked! I even DVR it everyday so that I don't miss anything. I have been a huge Josh and Reva fan, but I think that, that story line with them has played it's course. They are better apart as friends. I didn't like Reva and Jeffrey in the beginning, but I think they are great together. I also love the story line with Lizzie and Bill. Ava and Bill are a no go. Lizzie has been through the ringer on the show and deserves a good happy storyline for a change. Don't you think? Melissa
I am a huge fan of GL,I even DVR it everyday so that I don't miss anything. But if the president is on I wtach the post cast. I bent watching Gl for over 20yrs. I love the new Reva with jeffery story, I think Josh and Reva should stay over, Josh onl want Reva back because Cassie hurt him. I hope to GOD! the writers don't put josh and reva together again but the cat and mouse chase should be fun. The hurt on josh face when reva marries jeffery is worth 10 million bucks, its like him marring cassie, who cares that reva married and billy, like over 20 yrs ago!
i would like to know if michelle smith who plays ava had her baby in real life yet and what did she have boy or girl please let me know and oh by the way i dont think that baby max should die i think that remey should take care of his son until ava is well
I think that Daisy Lemay should be out of the character. She is a terrible actress that has no emotions whatsoever. I can't believe she would go after another man after having the child with Rave aborted.
I am a 7th generation gl fan. I love this show to peices! Although its been tough seeing people leave the show. Just as long as reva is still on the show I will continue watching it. I used to think that Josh and Reva should be together but I dont think so anymore. Jeffery is a perfect match for reva. Its Joshs fault that he cant have reva now because he was to busy playing house with the annoying new cassie. All that aside I love the whole cast. I think they are the greatest soap ever! You ROCK GL!!!
