Cassie's Most Outrageous Moments

— By Danielle McClure

Well, it looks like GL's Cassie is on the fast track to crazytown, thanks to conniving little Will. (Be sure to check out the Late-Breaking News section in the 2/25 issue of Digest for the full scoop!) This isn't her first foray into wild and wacky ways, however. We take a look back at Cassie's other unbelievably berserk behavior in this Top 10 Most Outrageous Moments list.

1.

What A Tease: Alan (Ron Raines) and Annie (Cynthia Watros) greeted Shady Lane, er, Cassie (then-Laura Wright).
— JIM ANTONUCCI

Cassie may be a preacher's wife now, but when we first met Ms. Layne back in 1997, she was a (gasp!) stripper named Shady Lane at a seedy dive named Teasers.

2.

Back in the day, working-class Cassie would do anything for an extra buck (obviously). She even agreed to be a corporate spy for, you guessed it, her now archenemy, Alan Spaulding.

3.

Money-hungry Cassie struck a deal with Prince Richard, volunteering to have his baby if he helped solve her financial woes (of course, they eventually fell in love and got married).

4.

Hey There, Partner: Cassie (Wright) and Richard (Bradley Cole) went undercover.
— LORENZO BEVILAQUA

In 2000, Richard and Cassie went undercover to see if they were being scammed by Spaulding Enterprises. They headed down to Texas, where they posed as redneck couple Dwayne and Stella Owens and worked together at Red's bar.

5.

After Danny was shot (and presumably killed), Cassie planned a fake memorial service for him — to hide the fact that he'd been embezzling money for her — while secretly nursing the mobster back to health.

6.

In 2002, Cassie and Olivia (Richard's ex) opened the Beacon. Tensions flared, however, during construction and the duo wound up talking trash and wrestling each other in a pit of mud. (Both Richard and Alan were later pulled into the scuffle.)

7.

Cassie was determined to prove to her sis, Reva, just how troubled Jonathan was, so she pretended to seduce her nephew so Reva would catch them in bed together. The plan was foiled when Jon caught on, drugged his aunt and made her think they'd really had sex.

8.

— BARRY MORGENSTEIN

Cassie stole Tammy's diary and read it to find out if her daughter really had a crush on Edmund. (She did!)

9.

She's Mine, All Mine: Cassie (Wright) and baby Hope.
— LORENZO BEVILAQUA/PGP

Gullible Cassie believed Edmund's yarn that not only was her rival Dinah a surrogate for their baby, but also when Eddie presented Cassie with a random newborn months later (Michelle's baby, Hope), that Dinah had simply handed over the child and she'd suddenly skipped town (yeah, right!).

10.

In 2006, Cassie locked a devastated Tammy in the morgue with the body of her dead fiancé, Sandy.
