She once became pregnant by her then-stepbrother (she lost the baby) and discovered in her late teens that she has a fraternal twin, Natalie. 1986
Viki (Erika Slezak) and Clint (Clint Ritchie) welcomed Jessica — who they thought was their first biological child together (Joe Riley is Kevin and Joey's birth father) — into the world that September. Soon after, Allison Perkins, a disciple of the evil Mitch Laurence, kidnapped baby Jess and tried to make it look as if Viki's alter, Niki Smith, was the culprit. Maria Roberts tracked down Allison, but got Clint to suspect that Viki-as-Niki had taken the baby. By the time Jess was returned to her parents, the damage to their marriage was done: Viki was furious with Clint for believing she was responsible for the snatching and they soon broke up.

1991
A pre-teen Jessica (then-Erin Torpey, with Chris McKenna, then-Joey, r., and Joey Thrower, then-Kevin) was on hand to support Clint when he underwent risky surgery to remove bullet fragments from his head. He survived, but Jess accidentally burned down Llanfair.

1994
Todd saved Jessica, along with C.J. and Marty, when the police car he was being transported in crashed into Marty's vehicle and nearly sent hers flying over a cliff. Todd, a convicted rapist, was granted a pardon for his good deed.

1995
Llanfair caught fire again when Viki's alter, Tori, set out to torch everything that Victor Lord had built. When she realized that Jessica was trapped inside, Viki reverted to Niki and saved her daughter. Later, Jessica became involved with Cristian Vega, despite their parents' disapproval.
