ONE LIFE TO LIVE FeaturesMusic History— By Lauren Flynn Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Nelly Furtado and other big-name performers aren't the only ones to break into song on ONE LIFE TO LIVE. In honor of OLTL's next musical guest, Rachael Yamagata on April 1, we recap the Llanviewers who've serenaded us over the years. Nashville Bound, 1980
In 1977, Becky Lee Abbott came to Llanview to pursue her singing career, which then-music producer Bo took an interest in. A few years later, she teamed up with Johnny Drummond to record a country album; the duo even performed at the Grande Ole Opry. Lounge Act, 1994
Over drinks at Rodi's, Todd dared new pal Blair to sing karaoke and was surprised by her angelic voice. But that wasn't the last time we'd see Blair grab the mic; she's now Capricorn's resident chanteuse. Dare To Disco, 1999
While stranded at Crossroads during a blizzard, Viki met handsome bartender Ben, who borrowed Todd's karaoke move to persuade Viki to let loose. While she put up a fight, Ben told the crowd that "Blondie" was about to do something that would "change the course of her entire life." And she did: She had the time of her life singing "I Will Survive" and soon struck up a romance with Ben. Band On The Run, 2000
Jessica and Cristian helped Will hide from the law after he was wrongly accused of embezzlement. While on the lamb, Jessica hooked up with a rock band and served as their lead singer for a few gigs. Babes Behind Bars, 2002
During one of her prison stints, Lindsay had a musical fantasy that featured backup dancers and performances by Jessica, Starr, Blair, Nora and Roxy, who sang The Supremes classic, "You Keep Me Hangin' On." Mama Don't Preach, 2003
Sarah returned to Llanview after mom Tina refused to support her music career, and took on a funky persona named Flash. She formed a band called Midnight Logic with friend Riley, and they became regulars at Capricorn. Sarah had to rest her vocals after she was strangled by the Music Box Killer, but showed off her recovered pipes at Nash's funeral last year. Last Days Of Disco, 2006
When resident Capricorn singer Claudia was shipped off to rehab, Evangeline had to step in at the last minute on New Year's Eve and got the crowd going with "Boogie Oogie Oogie." Broadway Baby, 2007
Llanview's most active singer is probably Marcie, who's sung everything from pop tunes to lullabies. As part of OLTL's four-episode special, Prom Night: The Musical, Marcie explained the science of love to Langston with a tune called "Chemistry." RELATED RESOURCES
