Baby's Day Out: Liza Huber and Royce

— By Deanna Barnert

Liza Huber's son, Royce, hit the sixth month mark, which meant a big christening party followed by his first visit to grandma Susan Lucci's house for the Fourth of July.

"We're going to New York to spend time with the family and introduce our friends in New York to Royce," Huber (Gwen, PASSIONS) relates. "This will be his first trip to New York and his second plane trip. He's already been to Florida with the family, but I'm looking forward to going back East."

Especially after having survived the pre-Fourth of July crunch at PASSIONS. "I'm back at work full force, and it's a lot," Huber admits. "I hate the days when I see Royce half an hour in the morning and he's asleep when I get home. On the whole though, it's not that bad and it's been a blast being back. I was gone for a long time!"

Thanks to Royce's Christmas birth, Huber was able to stretch her three-month maternity leave into about five months. "I can’t believe Royce is six months old already," she marvels. "He's had so much personality right out of the gate. He's never been a blob. He's always looked you right in the eye. He's very intense. I can see both of us so clearly in him, but he has more of [husband] Alex's expressions than mine — which is better, since he's a boy!"

Huber’s big boy is now also an official member of the family church. "The christening was a special day for him," Huber shares. "We had family and Royce's godparents at the church, and then we had a nice barbecue in the backyard. Most everyone at the party already knew him and had spent some time with him, but it was a big day."

It was also a big day for the belle of the ball — Huber's grandmother! "She is 90 years old and she's absolutely beautiful," Huber raves. "She's made two cross-country trips. The first one was when Royce was born. Then she got to be there for his christening, which was very special. It was a nice afternoon."
