SPEAKING OUT

"The one thing I can say about working on PORT CHARLES is that no matter what happened backstage, we were really like a bunch of kids on the show and we really believed in what we were doing," shared Gaskill.

Staab got a rise from the crowd when she discussed the call she received from Executive Producer Julie Hanan Carruthers that the show had been canceled. "I didn't know what to expect," she admitted. "I was hoping that it was going to be information that we were going to an hour."

Presley got the rest of his co-stars clapping when he mentioned the PC crew. "Our crew is unbelievable. About a year-and-a-half ago, PORT CHARLES was asked to do something that not many shows could do [by switching to a six-month taping schedule]. PC did it, and it wasn't just one person. It was a team. From our producers to everybody in the offices to the cast, it was a group effort."

While reflecting on her time on PC, Kimberlin Brown took a moment to get reacquainted with Staab when she realized they once modeled together. "Hey, I've been in the hospital. I need to catch up!" Brown quipped to the laughing audience.

Eddie Matos (Ricky) and Joy Bisco (Casey)

Fans were excited when Kaye and Easton finally arrived. "Is an Irish watch different from an American watch?" Matos cracked to the ... fashionably late actors.
Kaye and Easton stepped right up to the plate when asked how they felt about PC's cancellation:
Kaye: "How do I feel? I feel horrible. I think it's sh---y that the show was canceled. It was the best show on ABC, and now they have nothing."
Easton: "I'd just like to establish that Thorsten has been drinking since 12:30."
Kaye: "That's how sad we are about the cancellation."

Mendoza thanked the fans for their undying support over the years. "When I came on PORT CHARLES, it was a tough time because I came into what was a replacement role. But the fans just opened their hearts to me. The letters that I got really touched my heart. Those were the things that kept us going."

Poor Jeffreys missed taping the final arc due to an injury. "Unfortunately, I fell and broke my pelvis bone. So, I was lying in pain for seven weeks and missed the whole end of the shooting for the show. I missed my granddaughter's wedding!"
