The announcement was made by Jack Smith, co-executive producer/co-head writer of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, after which the two winners performed a scene together.

Last week, THE EARLY SHOW conducted live screen tests with two aspiring actors each day, chosen by THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS producers and casting director Marnie Saitta from recent open casting calls at five universities: Southern Methodist University in Dallas, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Maryland at College Park, University of Minnesota at Minneapolis and San Francisco State University.

Two students per day, selected from the pool of students who participated in the taped auditions, screen-tested live with Y&R actors Lauren Woodland, Greg Rikaart, Melody Thomas Scott, Keith Hamilton Cobb and Christian J. LeBlanc for roles on the show. Viewers of THE EARLY SHOW had the opportunity at the end of last week to vote for their favorite finalist on the show's Web site at www.cbsnews.com.
