Feminine Wiles: First seen in 1976 wearing a veil to cover scars she'd suffered in a fire, Vanessa was obsessive and possessive of sons Lance and Lucas. Despite her plottings, she couldn't keep Lorie Brooks away from her boys. While some mothers-in-law crochet, blackmail was Vanessa's hobby of choice, until she upped the ante and tried to shoot Lorie in 1977. In 1978, she had plastic surgery and dropped her veil, and finally got Lorie to let Lance go. But when they reconciled in 1981, Vanessa, upon learning she had a terminal illness, committed suicide by jumping over a balcony and framed Lorie for her "murder."

Feminine Wiles: In 1994, Mari Jo began dating Jack Abbott, and the following year, they got engaged. After learning she'd been plotting with Ashley's beau, Blade, and his twin brother, Rick, Jack dumped her to reunite with his first love, Luan. Mari Jo turned around and dated Jack's son, Keemo. The following year, she shot Victor, and held Christine hostage. Claiming she did it all for love wasn't enough to keep Mari Jo from being institutionalized.
