So Many Men....
The Loves Of Y&R's Katherine

As Y&R's Kay struggles to prove that she is indeed Katherine Chancellor and not her late look-alike, Marge, she's become very friendly with Marge's pal, Murphy. Is their romance in their future? Digest chatted with portrayer Jeanne Cooper, who gave her take on Kay and Murphy, as well as her character's other romances.

Kay And Murphy
"I don't know how this would really work. I don't know if realistically Kay would date a guy who owned a bait and tackle shop, but he's become very dear to her and will always remain that way. I love working with Michael [Fairman]. He's a great guy, one of the loveliest men I've worked with. And I'm enjoying her friendship with Murphy. I think he'll work his way into her life but I don't think she'll marry him."

Kay And Gary Reynolds
"He was the father of her son, Brock, so he'll always have a place in her heart because of that."

Kay And Phillip Chancellor II
"He was an intellectual, slightly cold-hearted businessman. He didn't have a lot of warmth and the sense of being at peace with himself. And he cheated on her with Jill and Jill had his baby. With Kay, it was kind of a love/hate thing with him. Murphy's the farthest thing from him ever. It's funny because Phillip is often portrayed as being the love of her life and I don't really think he was. He caused her a lot of heartache — and she ended up driving off a cliff with him."

Kay And Derek Thurston
"He was a good-looking man. That was purely a sexual thing. She was with him because he was good in bed [laughs]. And then Jill came between them, too!"

Kay And Jerry "Cash" Cashman
"He was the owner of that nightclub that Nikki stripped in [The Bayou]. Katherine really loved him and wanted to marry him ... and then he died. It was a shame because I think it could've been interesting if they'd done more with that romance. I was curious to see where it would lead."

Walton and Cooper
Kay and Jill (Jess Walton) fought over Phillip and Derek ... and then learned that they're mother and daughter.

Kay And Rex Sterling
"I actually think Rex was the most like Murphy. He had that warmth to him. He truly loved Katherine. They could never be friends; they could only be husband and wife because that's what Rex wanted. Kay married him because she knew that was the only way he could be happy."

Kay And Arthur Hendricks
"That was Jill's father... Kay was supposed to know him, wasn't she [laughs]? That would be funny if it came out that Jill isn't her daughter and it was all a dream ... and that Amber is her grandchild! I mean, if they could make everything a dream on DALLAS, they could do it on Y&R, right?"

Nothing would make me happier then if the DNA test proved that 1) Katherine is Katherine and 2) that Jill ISN'T her daughter!!! I don't need Katherine to marry Murphy, but I want him to stick around after this whole "Katherine is dead" story is over. And if they could find a way to bring Rex back from the dead, that would be good too!!!

I would love for Sharon and Nick to get married. I hate the evil witch phyllis. She used sex to get and keep Nick. Well now he has found real love with Sharon and I think he should kick her to the curb. She is always manipulating people as she tries to get her way. I think it is time for payback. Maybe she will get with her evil twin(Jack)

I do not think Sharon and Nick should get back together. The past is the past...move on already. I like Phyllis with Nick because she is fiery, out-spoken, and the chemistry is electric between her and Nick. Sharon is too much of a pushover, and I don't think she is good for Nick. Besides, she had her turn with him. It's time for her to let him go live his life with his wife and daughter. She needs to quit interfering in that and try to meet a new man. And Nick needs to get some cajones and tell Sharon that the only contact he wants with her is when they are dealing with Noah. No wonder Noah is rebelling...his parents are not even paying attention to him. They're too busy being selfish with their own feelings.

I think that to-days episode was so great, Nick looks like he is growing up. I was also so very happy to see that Billy has also admitted the truth. I am patiently waiting for Jill to get her marching orders, I am waiting for the day that Katherine tells her that Jill is not her daughter. Finally, who on earth is that mysterious lady who is now involved with Victor! I miss Nikki, I hope she comes back very soon.

Please bring Katherine back to Katherine Chancellor. And make Murphy a part of her life. They do not have to get married. Just maybe Jill is not her daughter? And where is MacKennize? Maybe she can come back and marry Billy!!! BTW.....Amber should really be related to Katherine for real. As for Billy and Cane I want to see Chloe out, Cane w/Lilly and Billy with someone new to raise the baby. And Ashley and Victor still do not belong together. Nicki should be brought back into Victor's life. They are the 'staying power' of the show.

Kay didn't love Philip Chancellor. She killed him because she didn't want anyone else to have him. A cold hearted Phillip wouldn't have fallen in love with Jill and he did. Enough to marry her on his death bed. I stopped watching Y&R the day Phillip died.
