Porn FreeOn-screen, it appears Bobby is falling for his star dancer, Brittany, but Enos isn't giving anything away. Despite being new to soaps, he has obviously been schooled in the importance of storyline secrecy. "I am not allowed to say anything," he states. "The last thing I am going to do is piss anybody off." But he will admit he would like something to happen between them. "This is the first show where I haven't already been sleeping with somebody," he chuckles. "This is a record for me. Some of the fan response has been good. I have been getting a lot of great letters. They insinuate sometimes that he is falling for her. I think he is kind of interested, but she might think he is a little old for her. Who knows? I date young girls. It totally works for me."
Y&R also works for him. "It's really close to my house; convenient," smiles the actor, who has inked a three-year contract. "I am not waiting for the phone to ring on another audition. I've got no stress. Hopefully I will be around all three years, things will go well, and Jack [Smith, co-executive producer/co-head writer] will still love me."
Enos also likes living in L.A., although he was born and raised in Boston, and spent the last 11 years in New York City. "I don't foresee myself being in New York all that much, unless I am getting paid to be there. I love it in New York, but there is nothing better than working and having blocks of time off, like I have here. Just to be able to go off and do other things. I get my schedule two weeks in advance, so I can plan. Like if I want to run down to Mexico for three days, go to Miami for four days or just hang out here and pull up the sticks and hit the golf course."
Some people probably can't picture Enos on the links, but then again, there are a lot of misconceptions about him. The biggest misconception? "Oh, God...I don't know. E! once asked me, 'John, of all the things that have been in the Star and the Enquirer about you, which was the most wrong?' I went, 'Well they were all pretty much true.'"
Only one thing has come back to haunt him. "I did a movie with Shannon Tweed, and it seems every night that thing is on at 3 o'clock in the morning! Every drunk I know watches it. But hey, a job is a job." Let's hope Mom hasn't caught that one. Speaking of which, Enos has a special request at the end of this interview: "Send me a few issues when this comes out, because I know my mother is going to want some."
If John Enos were a soap character, he'd have his own section in Wish I'd Said That every week:
