After spying a kiss between Danny and his ex Christine, Phyllis ran down her competition in a rental car. Chris plotted to help Danny escape Phyllis' clutches without losing custody of his son, Daniel. Phyllis covered her tracks by altering Daniel's blood work so that Danny would believe he was the boy's father.

1996
Phyllis agreed to a divorce, but then convinced the judge at the proceedings that their marriage wasn't over. For all of Phyllis' scheming, Danny won his divorce, but then little Daniel fell ill and the couple reconnected.

1997
The New Year brought a fresh marriage proposal from Danny. Things turned sour, however, when Chris convinced him to run another paternity test, which naturally turned out negative. Danny also figured out that the affair that destroyed his marriage to Chris was all a ruse: he and Phyllis had never even slept together! Danny filed for divorce, again. Phyllis tapped Michael Baldwin for her representation and started sleeping with him.

1998
Danny got his second divorce from Phyllis and full custody of little Daniel. Devastated, Phyllis moved in with Michael, but the relationship fizzled when the Jack/Phyllis romance kicked off. Though Phyllis was actually spying on Jack for Newman Enterprises, the hush-hush pair was hot.

1999
Jack ended their relationship and Phyllis went back to New York.
