The daughter of two actors, Judy Pace and Don Mitchell, acting seems to have been in the blood from the day Julia Pace Mitchell was born. In fact, as a kid, Mitchell often put on shows and entertained family and friends.

Encouraged by her mother to seriously study acting, Mitchell obliged. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theater from Howard University in Washington, D.C., and a Master of Fine Arts from the National Theatre Conservatory. She also studied classical theater at Oxford University and with the Groundlings.

  1. Mitchell followed her famous parents' footsteps onto the daytime drama scene. Her father, Don Mitchell, was on CAPITOL as Ed (1985-'86), while her mother, Judy Pace, portrayed Vickie on PEYTON PLACE (1968-'69).
  2. Her uncle was musical genius Oscar Brown, a singer/composer who shared the stage with Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie.
  3. Mitchell appeared in the popular national Playtex Fits bra commercials and print ads.
  4. She's the voice of Sharice on MTV's hit, THE HARD TIMES OF RJ BERGER.
  5. Her stepfather was baseball great Curt Flood.
