Just a few observations and random thoughts:
How did Dani become what appeared to be a detective and Margo’s right hand woman in the blink of an eye?
Don’t they have a police academy in Oakdale? If a dead body was stuffed in Brad’s locker, it would have stunk to high heaven weeks ago. Believe me, someone would’ve noticed! Also, poor Brad can’t catch a break, or learn a lesson. Touching the bag his locker corpse was wrapped in was not the brightest move.
Paul was hands-down the creepiest Santa I have ever seen.
Dusty was unnecessarily violent with Emily when he demanded answers from her about Josie.
The Most Obnoxious Drunk Award goes to Luke; the Biggest Ostrich award goes to Noah.
That is all for now.

I experienced my first Oakdale Thanksgiving this week and I loved it! What immediately struck me was how the Snyder farm could have easily been my house or your house — anyone's really. Watching Janet and Emma jockey for position while cooking reminded me of my own holidays. Now I understand way my Grandmother always shooed us out of the kitchen! Another realistic touch that caught my eye was the cooler stocked with beverages on the porch. Of course there was also tradition in Luther's Corners — it's cutting the Hubbard Squash. The throw back to characters no longer on the screen was a smart way to let viewers know that Seth, Ellie and Abigail still exist somewhere. Ultimately, the Snyder feast truly emphasized what Thanksgiving is really about — being surrounded by friends and loved ones.

ATWT's Carly was extraordinarily vicious yesterday — and that's saying
something! Granted, she's angry because she believes (or wants to believe)
that Janet belted Sage across the face. But that was no excuse for her to
snipe at Liberty the way she did. The woman more or less called a teenager a
floozy. The coup de grace, of course, was when Carly threatened to have Jack
collared if he picked up Sage without her permission again. Nothing says "I
am a good mother" like getting your kids' father arrested and fired. At this
point, I really think Carly could give Paul a run for his money in the fruit
loop department.
This is totally off-topic, but have I ever mentioned how much I love DAYS's
John 2.0? He killed me with his delivery alone in Monday's episode. It makes
me sad to know that he and Marlena will be written out, what a shame.

I got a chance to watch LIFE ON MARS last night. Although I've heard fantastic things about the show, it was the first time I tuned in. So why did I check it out? I couldn't miss Elizabeth Hubbard's (Lucinda, ATWT) performance! As expected, she was absolutely fab as the protagonist, Detective Sam Taylor's (Jason O'Mara) soap opera mother. Hubbard's appearance aside, it was a truly entertaining hour of television. Harvey Keitel, Michael Imperioli, 1970's cop talk and politically incorrect zingers — what's not to love?
On a different note, I thought Van Hansis (Luke, ATWT) did a fantastic job this week! It looks like Luke is headed down a pretty rocky road — let's hope it's full of drama.... Speaking of Van, I am so excited to see him Dance, Dance Revolution, an off-Broadway show he's set to appear in next month. The musical is based on the popular video game of the same name and is described as a very scary, futuristic version of Footloose.

It was so refreshing to see Janet finally show Carly her claws! It's
about time this strong, independent woman showed Carly she is a worthy
adversary. I actually shouted "Whoa!" when Janet referred to Jack's meddling
ex as a female dog. I can't wait to see what fireworks lie ahead between
these two! I also must say, I am loving Laurence Lau as Brian. One, he doesn't take any gruff from Lucinda, and two, it looks like he may actually help her get her groove back. It's about time she got a hot, virile man to pay her some
attention. Let's just hope she doesn't go jet-skiing with him....

It's common for children to age rapidly on soaps, but does it have to
start in utero? ATWT's Meg is somewhere around three months pregnant, and
she is already showing BIG TIME. Unless she's going to give birth to a
giant, maybe they should slow her gestation down a bit.
Now onto the election front. It was a little disheartening to learn
that Luke hasn't really properly familiarized himself with the school's
issues, aside from Noah's film festival. Come on, get on the stick Snyder,
hop to it!

I really enjoyed the Carly/Jack flashbacks on ATWT today. Aside from injecting a little of the show's history into the episode, the trips down memory lane illustrated the difference between Jack's romance with Carly and his romance with Janet. The variance was detailed by the manner in which he popped the question to each woman. Of course, that can be construed any number of ways. One being that his love for Carly was deeper and stronger, since his proposal to Janet was fairly weak. Or, it can be taken to mean
that he has evolved, calmed down and is looking for peace and simplicity. Either way, I was happy to see Jack and Janet get together. Although she's not usually a terribly sympathetic character, I actually pitied Carly. The way she threw herself at Jack was truly sad and Maura West portrayed a wonderful mix of vulnerability and desperation. I can't wait to see how this all unfolds!

I finally got a chance to watch last week's episode of FRINGE the other night. Thank goodness for DVR! Imagine my shock when I spotted a headstone in a cemetery scene baring the name Casey Peretti! As in the ATWT character who was married to Lyla — Katie's father. I hit rewind and took a closer look. Not only did the slab say Casey Peretti, but the year of death was 1990 — just like Oakdale's Casey! What a funny coincidence.

As much as I have enjoyed watching ATWT this week, one thing really stuck in my craw. How on earth does a woman like Alison, who is allegedly a nursing student, go so long without a gynecological checkup? One would think that given her interest in medicine and her sexual history she would be hyper vigilant about her personal hygiene and health. The writers certainly did their homework about the character's diagnosis, Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, and hopefully have alerted viewers to a serious malady.

I must admit, I am kind of loving, crazy, out-of control Paul on AS THE WORLD TURNS. He is behaving the way I would imagine any man in his situation would want to behave, but doesn't thanks to a sense of what is appropriate and
acceptable in social situations. Even better than Paul being insane in the membrane? The fact that he knows he's a kook. When he stomped into to the precinct and began raving like a lunatic he told Jack he was going crazy at home, but was quick to clarify, "More crazy than usual." The psychedelic visions are a little much, but I suppose the camp is part of the magic of soap operas.
I am still completely on the fence with Noelle Beck as Lily. I want to see her do some damage along with her Mom, Lucinda. That whole relationship needs to be shown way more! And, I think Lucinda needs to be on MORE, MORE, MORE! So, let's get it going! Welcome to the fold of ATWT fans! I have been an on and off subscriber for years and an ATWT fan for over 20 years, yikes!
It sounds like you're having fun over there. Keep up the good work!
I'm also glad to see Jack and Janet get together. Janet is definitely a worthy adversary to Carly, and I hope that Janet wins out in the end.
Just wanted to say that I loved your interview with Terri Colombino in SOD awhile back.
It's been awhile. I hope that Erika is still blogging and covering ATWT. I thought she was doing a wonderful job!
Is Terri Colombino (Katie) pregnant in real life? You don't see much of her lately on the show. I just wondered if she is and they are working it in to the show. It will be nice for Katie and Brad to finally have a baby of their own.
