Thorsten Kaye's take on Cameron Mathison's performance during week 2 of DANCING WITH THE STARS.
What did you think of Cameron's outfit this week?
Thorsten Kaye: I was surprised he wore the exact same outfit that Barbie Boy (model Albert Reed) wore the week before. That's why they booted him, because he wanted to give the shirt of bad luck to Cameron and they found out about it. And Cameron still pulled it off.
Is it true you recommended a place for Cameron to go get his chest waxed?
Kaye: No, I didn't give him a place to go. I gave him a bucket of wax. That was my gift to him. He used the whole bucket, so I know it wasn't just the chest. I hear he's doing some kind of cowboy thing with chaps for next week. He'll be ready for that. The redness will be gone by then. That's what it promises on the bucket anyway.
Have you spoken to Cameron since he was voted to stay on this week?
Kaye: Briefly. He came in to AMC early this morning. But wait — here's somebody who knows.
What were your impressions of Cameron this week?
Melissa Claire Egan (Annie): I thought he did an amazing job. He's definitely improved since the first week. He seems more confident. He was having so much fun out there. This time around, he seemed really excited to be there and really into it. It was so cool to watch.
How is it seeing him back on the set today?
Egan: It's so odd. I fall asleep watching the show and I wake up and he's here. I'm like, “How are you here? Are you a superhero?” I think his flight landed at 6:30 and he came straight here for an 8 am call time. He hasn't even been home yet.
Is he exhausted?
Egan: He's napping at the moment. This is our lunch hour, from one to two.
Is he jazzed because he did so well this week?
Egan: He's excited. I think he knows he did better this week. He was showing me moves upstairs in the “plane” we were on. He's going to tango next week.
Is his partner Edyta traveling with him?
Egan: Yes, she's back in New York now so that they can rehearse for a couple of days and then fly back out on Friday night. I think they're the only ones doing the red-eye. Most people aren't even working while they're on [DANCING WITH THE STARS], and he's working on the other side of the country. It's bananas, but he's holding up well. You never hear him complain about it.
