Di told Tad that JR was out getting drunk, admitted that she shattered his life, and begged him to go out and help his son. Tad basically to her to go to hell and get out of town. Di told Tad that he can't make her leave town. "I won't give up this life without a fight," Di said. "You'll get a fight," Tad replied. "Believe me." Di suggested that maybe the truth is Tad doesn't want her gone after all. "For the last time: You are not Dixie," Tad told Di. She responded that it's true she is not Dixie, because unlike Dixie, she will stay in Pine Valley until she makes things right.

Erica called on Kendall, who slammed the door in her mother's face. Erica stood outside the door and told Kendall that she had a ticket out of town for her and that she wasn't leaving until she agreed to accept it. Kendall finally let Erica in. She saw that it was a ticket to Paris. Erica told Kendall she needs to get away for a while, spend some time with Bianca, and put the "fertility fiasco" behind her. Erica said it won't be easy for Kendall to walk away from the baby once she gives birth. Kendall said that Greenlee and Ryan will keep her in the child's life and that in the meantime she has Zach. Erica told Kendall that her marriage to Zach is loveless and that eventually she will fall back in love with Ryan, if she is indeed over him at all. Kendall ripped up the tickets and asked Erica to leave. On her way out, Erica warned, "Staying here in Pine Valley can only hurt you."

Ryan told Greenlee that if there was any chance of them getting back together then they have to tell each other everything. Greenlee asked Ryan if he would've come back had she been pregnant with his child. Ryan said he left to destroy the demons inside him and absolutely would've have come back to her regardless of the baby. Ryan said he's grateful for everything Kendall has done for them, but said he doesn't want Kendall in the middle of them any more. Ryan said that he loved Greenlee and that he probably wouldn't have been able to realize it had he not left. Greenlee didn't accept that and told him to grab his stuff and leave. Ryan refused. He said that they still have things to talk about and insisted that Greenlee hear him out. Ryan said that he isn't evil to his core, that he's different from his father. Greenlee told him it was sad that he couldn't have figured that out from her love for him.

Jonathan asked Erin if he could have some water before she locked him in. Erin was taken aback at how he phrased it and told him he was getting better. Jonathan said he wanted to go back to Pine Valley. Later, he locked Erin in a closet. Erin got scared and demanded that he open the door. "I will," Jonathan answered. "Soon." Then, Jonathan called Greenlee. "Surprise!" he said.

Julia almost left the bar with Hank, but Zach stepped up and intervened. He took Hank aside and had a few words, Hank left. Zach told Julia they were leaving together and walked out, expecting her to follow. When Scott grabbed her arm to bring her outside, Julia pulled a flip move on him and then followed Zach. Back at his office, Julia railed at him for interfering in her life and thinking that she needs a bodyguard. Next, she started to seduce him. "Do you want me?" she asked. "You got me." They kissed. And then Kendall walked in and saw them.

Di told Julia that she planned to leave town. Julia accused Di of cowardice and urged her to start a new life in Pine Valley, to stay and fight for JR and Tad's love. Later, Julia sat alone and recalled Mateo's pre-meal prayer, Edmund's Christmas gift, and other love-filled family moments. In the present, of course, she was the only Santos in sight. "There's nothing here for you," she sighed to herself. Se then got all dolled up and left for the evening.

In Ryan's hospital room, Kendall tried to mediate between Ryan and Greenlee. Livia then arrived for a meeting with Ryan, piquing Greens's suspicions; Kendall rushed Greenlee out before Ryan said anything about Jonathan. Greens was annoyed with Kendall for visiting Ryan; Kendall explained that she needed to suss out how Ryan felt now about having kids. Once alone with Livia, Ryan told her about his "dead" brother. Livia thought it over and decided to defend Jon, but warned Ryan that it wouldn't be easy to get him off.... Kendall tried to talk Greenlee out of her determination to run Ryan out of town. Greens went back into Ryan's room and told him she was prepared to talk.

Brooke came to see Tad, who purchased a new drum kit and banged on it to drown out Brooke's questions about how he's coping with the Di situation, so she disabled the instrument. Brooke ultimately decided to come back later, paving the way for David's entrance. David's gloating was not appreciated by Mr. Martin. "Even a fake Dixie fell in love with me, not you," spat Tad. David walked out.

At the mall, Amanda continued to snow Janet on their phone call, convincing her that she was on the verge of marrying Jamie. Babe observed Amanda making a purchase at a jewelry kiosk and investigated after Amanda left. After learning that Amanda had purchased wedding rings, the color faded from Babe's cheeks. When she spied Brooke nearby, she grabbed her and begged Brooke to stop Jamie from marrying Amanda. Brooke was amazed by Babe's nerve, reminding her that she'd forfeited her right to have a say in Jamie's life.

Jamie welcomed a chilly JR into his new digs. As JR pounded back more alcohol, Jamie tried to get through to his bro. They were interrupted by a knock on the door: It was Di, who blurted out an apology to Jamie. JR stepped into Di's view. "Hi, Di," he smirked. "Welcome to hell." JR went off on Di and rebuffed her when she discouraged him from drinking. He warned Di that he was thinking seriously about sending her to jail, ordered her to stay away from him, then stormed out. Jamie berated Di for coming over and told her to butt out of their lives. Di left, then Brooke arrived and questioned Jamie about Amanda. Jamie assured Brooke that his relationship with Amanda was not serious. Brooke was thrilled and relayed the news to Babe by phone. But before Babe left the mall, she saw Amanda buying drugs from a dude who assured her that if she slipped the meds into Jamie's drink, he wouldn't detect the taste and would do whatever she wants him to.

Di showed up at Tad's.

Amanda's arrival interrupted Jamie's weight-lifting session; she asked him to let her be a friend to him in his time of need. Somewhat reluctantly, Jamie began opening up, and he allowed Amanda to embrace him. She also successfully talked him into taking a brief trip with her, his treat.... Amanda called Janet and fibbed that she and Jamie had set a wedding date.

Babe broke away from JR's kiss, suggesting they talk instead; this didn't go over well with JR, who accused Babe of trying to play him again. "I thought you were on your way back to being human again," she sighed. "You read me wrong again," he smirked. Winifred brought in the baby, but Babe blocked his access to Little Adam, ordering him to sober up before he comes near the boy. JR told Babe to leave, though he did tell Winnie to keep Little A. for a few more minutes. Babe then reported to Krystal that she thinks she's blown it with JR for good. Krystal then took a stab at talking some sense into JR. It didn't go well. JR then showed up unexpectedly on Jamie's doorstep.

Erica was outraged by Greenlee's plan to conceal the baby news from Ryan, but La Kane did show some sympathy when Greenlee reminded her of the ordeals Ryan has put her through. Erica agreed to keep her mouth shut, but still felt strongly that Ryan deserved to know he's going to be a father. Before exiting, Erica urged Greens to amp down her anger and listen to her inner voice. Zach then entered and berated Greens for putting Kendall in the middle of her marital mess.

Josh visited Greg at his office and demanded to know what secret his dad is keeping about Erica, swearing that his loyalty to Greg outweighs his allegiance to Erica. Josh didn't buy Greg's claim that he's not hiding anything.

As Zach listened via an intercom, Ryan pressed Kendall to tell him what's going on with Greenlee and explained to Kendall how he knows that his temper is now under control. Zach, meanwhile, asked Anita to help him with his wife, and Anita came in to administer tests on Ryan before Kendall told him about the surrogacy. In the hallway, Kendall berated Zach for interfering, but he insisted that her pregnancy is not her secret to tell. When Kendall rejoined Ryan, she kept mum about the baby, but told Ryan not to give up on his marriage. Ryan then revealed to Kendall that Jonathan is alive; Kendall begged him not to tell Greenlee, warning him that tumor or no tumor, Jon could be the end of his chances of winning back his wife. "I won't tell one more lie," said Ryan. As Kendall pleaded with Ryan to take her advice, Greens arrived.

Back at NEW BEGINNINGS, Josh chatted up Erica about her concerns over how Ryan's return will affect Kendall. Josh volunteered to help Erica by buddying up to Kendall.

Anita phoned Greenlee to tell her that Ryan was in the hospital. Greens's reaction made Kendall accuse her of still being in love with Ryan, which Greenlee insisted wasn't the case.

Zach visited Ryan in his hospital room and mused aloud, "I wonder what it would take to make you dead for real." Ryan figured out that Zach must be reacting this way because he's in love with Kendall. Kendall barged in, informed Zach that he was off hero duty and gave Ryan a hug, but warned him that part of her hated him. After dismissing Zach, Ryan and Kendall had a heart-to-heart and she warned him that winning Greenlee back would not be easy.... Anita caught Zach trying to listen in on Ryan and Kendall's conversation and gave him access to an intercom so that he could hear better. Back inside Ryan's room, he assured Kendall that he's a changed man, one who would have returned even if Greenlee hadn't miscarried.

Adam confronted a hungover JR in his bedroom and pleaded with his son to send Di Kirby to jail. As JR pounded back more whiskey, he accused Adam of enjoying his pain, a claim Adam denied.... Krystal fretted to a concerned Babe about JR's drinking. The women heard Adam and JR shouting upstairs and Babe's sympathy for her ex was clear. Babe went upstairs and got rid of Adam so that she could talk to JR alone. "You're stupid," he slurred. "You really want to take me on right now?" He warned her not to buddy up with him, but her kind words softened him a smidge. When she told JR that she knew he wanted his mother to be alive, he warned her that he stood either to strangle her or tell her she's right. Babe asked JR if he would let her help him. He surprised her by pulling her into a tender kiss.

Krystal served a gigantic, fatty breakfast to Adam, who was tempted but opted for fruit. Adam began choking when Krystal brought up his ex-wife, Gloria, who tried to poison him. "Imagine that," purred Krystal. The spouses disagreed over how JR should cope with the revelation about Di's identity.

At Greenlee's penthouse, Erica and a worked-up Jack searched for some sign of Ryan and Greenlee's whereabouts. Jack read the note that Ryan left for Greenlee and railed against his son-in-law as Erica encouraged Jack to let the Laverys tend to their own marriage. Greenlee entered just as Erica was trying to cover a remark she made that hinted at Kendall's pregnancy. Jack comforted Greenlee, who reported to Jack and Erica that Ryan was as good as dead to her. After Jack left, Greenlee and Erica exchanged harsh words as Erica accused Greenlee of having grown even more selfish and Greenlee demanded that Erica keep her mouth shut to Jack about the baby.

Kendall assured Greenlee that she wanted to go through with the surrogacy despite the fact that both of their husbands were "pathetic liars". Greens was touched and grateful. The ladies then discussed their options for concealing the baby's paternity from Ryan, and Kendall expressed her concerns about Greenlee falling back in love with Ryan, which Greenlee dismissed as an impossibility. Greenlee told Kendall she planned to make Ryan leave town and made her promise never to tell Ryan that the baby she's carrying is his. Kendall agreed not to blab.

At the roadside bar, Tad asked Babe if she'd seen JR. Not since Di's big reveal, sighed Babe, who received an earful from Tad when she tried to defend Di's actions and criticized Tad for ruining JR's life by forcing Di to come clean.

JR struck Ryan with a tree branch as he railed against Lavery's lies. Julia rushed in and fought back, ending JR's attack. Jamie arrived next and he and Ryan both discouraged Julia from calling the cops. Julia rushed Ryan to the hospital while Jamie tried to get through to JR by reminding him of their past fraternal closeness. It didn't work. Nor did it work when Tad joined in Jamie's efforts — a weeping JR told them both to go to hell.... At the hospital, Anita warned Ryan he probably had a concussion and would need to stay the night, while Julia remembered her past life as a nursing student.... JR showed up at the bar and ordered a bourbon; Babe told him it was past last call, but served him anyway.

Di burst into Zach's office looking for Julia, who had checked out of her hotel. Zach assured her Julia was safe, then pressed Di to tell him what was going on with her. Di filled him in and was surprised by Zach's calm reaction. Zach explained that he, too, once assumed a false identity and offered her a job as a casino hostess. Di wondered what he felt guilty about, and he acknowledged that he wished Kendall wasn't furious with him over certain choices he'd made.

A distressed Lily bumped into Stuart in the woods, who put her at ease after proving that he wasn't Adam. They bonded over their mutual disappointment in their loved ones' behavior. Lily even felt safe enough with Stuart to take his hand when he proferred it to escort her home.
