AMC Recaps Week of August 28, 2006

Annie walked in as Ryan was losing his temper with an employee. Annie suspected that Ryan's mood had something to do with Kendall.

Kendall and Babe ran into each other on the Fusion rooftop; both women were teary-eyed. Kendall accused Babe of enjoying her suffering and claimed to take pleasure in Babe's misery. Josh walked in and ordered Kendall to back off. Bickering ensued among the trio. After Josh left, Kendall asked Babe how she'd found a way to forgive JR. Babe admitted that she wasn't totally past JR's attempt to murder her. The ladies commiserated. Babe departed after wondering out loud if it might be time to consider a different life.

Jamie and JR confronted Zach in his office, demanding to know what Slater had done with Tad. After Zach found out that Tad was MIA, he paid a visit to Ryan and came down on him for telling Kendall about the CD. Ryan gave it right back to him for having left Kendall's side when she was comatose. Zach berated Ryan for questioning his love for Kendall. Lavery refused to take the blame for Zach and Kendall's estrangement. Kendall arrived as the men were arguing.

At the Wildwind crypt, Del revealed himself to Tad as his captor. Tad blasted Del for screwing up his attempt to leave town; Del brandished a gun when Tad tried to leave. Soon enough, Di entered and shocked Tad by making it clear that she was in cahoots with Del. Tad tried to reason with them, insisting that he wanted the same thing they did (to leave town to avoid testifying against Dixie). The Henry sibs released him and Tad summoned JR and Jamie to the Chandler jet. Di thanked him for the sacrifice he was making for Dixie.

Dix told Derek they needed to talk. She offered to confess to Greg's murder in exchange for Derek leaving JR, Jamie and Zach alone. He didn't believe that she'd acted alone and told her that if she wanted to protect her boys, she should turn state's evidence against Zach. Dix insisted that Zach was innocent and begged Derek to drop the whole thing. Derek noted that that was impossible and gave her access to Greg's file, thinking it might help her understand why he cares who the killer was.

Aboard the Chandler jet, Tad told Jamie and JR that Del had detained him but everything is okay now. JR reported that Dixie is in the clear, too, now that the tape is no longer in Derek's possession. Tad went to tell the pilot he was ready to leave, but Derek blocked him. "You're not going anywhere," announced the police chief. He hauled Tad, JR and Jamie back to his office, where Dix was still looking at Greg's file. Derek announced that if Tad doesn't incriminate Dixie, he'll be sending his sons to prison instead.

Babe showed up at Josh's and was stunned by what she saw inside his place: a coffin, which Josh had constructed himself.

Zach smirked that JR and Jamie were starring in what Hardy Boys mystery?

A fire-breathing Kendall came to see Zach in his office at the casino. She introduced Zach to her attorney, Liz, and announced that she was filing for divorce. Zach demanded some time alone with his wife. Once he got it, Kendall demanded to know how the CD of Greg's last words had ended up in their closet, where Ryan found it. When she asked him point-blank if he had lied to her again, he again pleaded with her to trust him. She felt she deserved more than that and made that sentiment clear. "We're through," she declared.

At the Chandler manse, Krystal tried to rein in Colby and Sydney's outrageous party planning. Babe learned that JR was at the police station and bolted. Colby fretted that JR's legal woes would steal the thunder from her birthday. Adam found out about JR and dashed out of the mansion. Josh showed up looking for Babe. Krystal told him she wanted a word with him and sent Colby (who flirted shamelessly with Josh) upstairs. Krystal also dismissed Sydney.... Colby told Sydney that she and Josh had hooked up.... Krystal asked Josh to stay away from Babe.

Jamie and JR continued to insist to Derek that they didn't know where the missing tape was. Babe arrived and Derek left her alone with JR and Jamie. JR gave Babe a hard time about Josh. She called him a jerk and left. Adam came down to station as Jamie and JR were released. He reported to the boys that Tad never arrived at the destination he'd chosen. This worried Jamie and JR, who took off looking for Zach. Back at the manse, Krystal reported Colby's outrageous spending to Adam.

Dixie left a message for Tad and asked him to call her back. Babe stormed into her room and blasted Dix for all the problems in the family. She told Dixie about Tad's disappearance, JR's situation with Derek, and the existence of an eyewitness who could expose her alibi as a fake. Babe beseeched Dixie to plead guilty for JR's sake. Dix later showed up at Derek's.

Tad woke up to discover that he was being held captive in a crypt. He suspected that Zach was responsible. Later, Tad was dragged to safety by his attacker. "Oh, no," he groaned.

At ConFusion, Colby used the fake ID she'd gotten from Sean to get drinks for her posse, which included Sean. Fresh from asking Jamal to keep an eye on Lily for him, Jonathan busted the crew. As Sean tried to smooth-talk Jon into letting him off the hook, Sydney happened upon Colby sitting alone and they exchanged nasty comments. Syd then showed Colby that she'd taken a picture on her camera phone of Colby drinking champagne. Syd made it clear that unless Colby gave her the dress she wanted, she'd show the picture to Adam.... Jon made a deal with Sean: He'd let him go for the fake ID if Sean kept close watch over Lily.

Annie came by Jack's house and identified herself to Jack as the woman whose ex-husband was after his daughter. Jack heard Annie out, but was unmoved by her assurances that Ryan would keep Terry away from Lily. Upstairs, Lily used instant messenger to gab with her online pal (really Terry). Terry expertly posed as an autistic teen, luring Lily into his web and proposing a face-to-face meeting.

On the Fusion rooftop, Kendall took offense at Ryan's declaration that Zach killed Greg. He tried to change the subject, but she wouldn't let him, demanding to know what he was keeping from her. Lavery divulged that he'd found the CD of Greg's last words in Zach's closet, then planted the evidence at JR's to take the heat off Zach and to make JR pay for hurting Kendall. She was deeply moved, but he was concerned that she was missing the big picture — namely, that the CD had originally been at her house, among Zach's possessions. Kendall was certain that Zach had been framed and Ryan purported to buy her theory. But then doubt began to creep in for Kendall and she wondered to Ryan if Zach had lied to her. She started crying at the thought that Zach might have betrayed her trust yet again.

In his office, Derek listened to Tad's taped comments about seeing Zach and Dixie burying Madden. Jamie, JR and Amanda showed up at the station; the brothers had enlisted Amanda to distract Derek so that they could swipe Tad's tape. She went into Derek and played the "traumatized about Janet and Trevor" card; he fell for it and invited her out to coffee. Once the coast was clear, JR and Jamie entered Derek's office and tried to pick the lock to Frye's desk drawer; Zach caught them in the act. Slater wanted to know why the guys wanted to confiscate the evidence. Jamie revealed that Tad had left town to avoid testifying against Zach and Dixie. Zach tried to leave with the tape, but Dixie's boys stopped him. They created a diversion and regained possession of the tape, but Zach got it back and slipped out just as Derek arrived, catching Jamie and JR red-handed.

At the park, Babe begged Josh to keep his mouth shut about Zach and Kendall's make-out session but he adamantly refused. Josh grew teary at the site of his father's demise and Babe became emotional as she witnessed his suffering. He lost his temper with her for making him a better man, since he found himself unable to call the cops. After their emotional exchange, the sexual tension between them was evident as they had a loaded conversation that was ostensibly about work. Babe then left to return home.

Ryan stopped by Fusion looking for Babe, who said Kendall had bolted the second she, Babe, had arrived. Kendall was on the roof with Zach, snuggling with her hubby and begging him for reassurance that their estrangement ruse would be over soon. Unbeknownst to the Slaters, Josh was listening to their every word. Ryan then came upstairs and berated Zach and Kendall for being careless. Back downstairs, Josh was irritable and stormed out; Babe thought it was because he was mad at her for snapping at him, so she took off after him. She found him at the park where Greg's corpse had been found. Josh made it clear to Babe that he knew Dixie and Zach's alibi to be fradulent. Babe found it hard to believe that Dixie murdered Greg and worried about how JR would feel if it was true. She implored Josh not to go to the cops. "Don't hurt JR!" she pleaded.

After Zach left Fusion, Kendall asked Ryan for help getting Tad not to testify. Her idea was to defuse Tad's jealousy by revealing to Martin that Zach and Dixie's alibi is fake. Ryan urged her not to waste her time trying to get Tad to change his story. She pressed him to tell her why he was so sure. "Tad did see them," Ryan sighed. "Zach did it."

Del and Di barged into Dixie's room and, against their sister's protests, began packing up her belongings. The Henry sibs were determined to get Dix out of town now that the cops had Tad as an eyewitness to testify against her. Dix was stunned that Tad would lie to the jury to get revenge against her but insisted that she couldn't leave town. When she named Zach as one of the reasons she couldn't run, Di was shocked by the depth of Dixie's feelings for her co-conspirator. Di and Del left; Zach entered and told Dixie that he could get Tad to shut up if she couldn't. "Whatever it takes," said Zach. But Dixie was not interested in hurting Tad ever again. Zach warned Dixie that they had to protect themselves. "Let me be the one to figure out how to keep Tad from talking," requested Dixie. Zach insisted on taking care of it himself but assured Dixie that everything would be just fine.

At the Chandler manse, JR and Jamie came down on Tad for claiming that he'd seen Dixie and Zach stashing away Madden's body the night of his murder. Tad insisted that he was being forced to testify against his will, but his sons thought he was deliberately trying to destroy Dixie's life. Tad explained that he saw Dixie and Zach with the body and later spotted her vehicle at the park but that Dix still matters to him. JR proposed getting Tad out of town, which was what Tad had been thinking, too. He explained that he intended to stay away until after the trial and possibly for good. "I'm willing to do it for you," he told JR. JR got the Chandler jet ready to take Tad far away. Krystal walked in on their intense confab. Tad tried to cover but she remained suspicious. Before Krystal left, Tad told her to make sure Adam treats her right. JR then handed Tad an impressive wad of cash and thanked him for making such a sacrifice for him and Dixie. "I love you," they told each other. JR asked Tad what he should tell Dixie. "Tell her I'm sorry," said Tad. After he was gone, Jamie and JR fretted that Dixie could still go to prison. The brothers got it in their heads to swipe Tad's confession from Derek.

Di burst into Tad and Aidan's office, threatening to kill Tad, who wasn't there. She begged Aidan to get Tad to stop telling lies about Dixie. Aidan noted that he didn't know for sure that Tad was lying; Di was bothered by Aidan's defense of Tad. Di said she wanted Aidan to take the heat off Dixie even if it meant proving that she killed Madden herself. Di said she might as well be the one to take the fall; Aidan dismissed the idea as crazy.

When Tad returned home to gather his belongings, someone knocked him unconscious.

Tad felt betrayed when Derek revealed that he'd bugged Tad's house and that Tad would be testifying against Zach and Dixie. Derek gloated to Zach that he and Dixie were toast. Tad railed at Derek for tricking him and invading his privacy, then took a different approach, softening and telling Derek that out of jealousy, he fabricated the whole thing about seeing Dixie and Zach with a body the night Madden died. Tad noted that if Derek puts him on the witness stand, he'll swear that his whole story was made up. Derek warned Tad that he'd be accused of obstruction of justice and perjury. Derek told Tad he had no choice but to testify against Dixie.

At the Lavery penthouse, Annie updated Ryan on her latest contact with Terry. Ryan assured Annie that Terry is still in Ireland, far away from her. Ryan also assured Annie that Zach loves Kendall and isn't a threat to Kendall or to Spike. Annie then told Ryan that there was a new eyewitness in the Greg Madden case: Tad.

JR sent Colby out of the room after she slipped the news that Josh had accompanied Babe to Phildelphia on Fusion business. When he grilled Babe, she insisted that nothing had happened between her and Josh. JR wasn't entirely buying it and asked what she was hiding. Babe maintained her innocence but his attempt to kill her came up yet again. "Back to this," sighed JR. He stormed out to check on Little Adam. Colby entered and warned Babe not to blow her off again. "Shut up, Colby," snapped Babe. "Stay out of my business." Colby then met up with Sean and they agreed to meet up later that night.... Tad came by the mansion to warn JR that Dixie and Zach are guilty and that he, Tad, is the witness for the prosecution.

At Fusion, Kendall was sickened by Josh's revelation that he considers Babe his only chance for human connection. She told Josh she wouldn't help him snag Babe from JR but reluctantly agreed to be nicer to Babe.... Erin pressed Dani for details about her brief fling with Josh.... Zach entered and announced that his coffin and Dixie's coffin had just been nailed. Kendall was horrified by the news about Tad.... Sitting close together, Babe and Josh conferred over the role of Zarf's music in the new Fusion campaign. Babe was affected by their proximity and thought back to their tender moment in the shower.... Josh caught Kendall and Zach making out on the Fusion rootftop; they didn't know they'd been witnessed.

At the Montgomerys', Erica was at her wit's end with Sean and tried to reach Barbara in the hopes of sending Sean back to his mom. Jack stopped her and asserted that Sean was staying put. Sean announced that Jonathan was camped out outside; Jack dragged him inside and told him to stay away from Lily. Jon pointed out that he simply wanted Lily to be safe. After Jon left, Erica defended Jon's love for Lily; Jack sarcastically thanked her for her support. The spouses agreed that their marriage was in trouble.
