AMC Recaps Week of October 2, 2006Friday, October 6, 2006 At ConFusion, Josh informed Babe that he intended to fight for her. This made Babe very nervous. JR entered and Josh told him (and Babe and Amanda) that he'd be staying on at Fusion. In JR and Babe's ensuing fight, he spoke ill of Amanda, earning him a serious tongue-lashing from Jonathan, who'd overheard. Before heading out, Babe thanked Josh for not spilling the beans to JR. Jon then asked Amanda if she thought about falling in love. "Who doesn't?" she shrugged, trying to conceal her feelings for him. Jon wondered if he was keeping Amanda from finding the perfect guy.
When Sydney stopped by Colby's room for a wardrobe consultation, Colby admitted that she might be pregnant. Downstairs, Adam and Krystal basked in their delight over Krystal's pregnancy, but something was obviously weighing on Krystal.... Colby and Sydney fetched a home pregnancy test. Adam found the instructions to Colby's home pregnancy test and assumed it belonged to Krystal; she said it didn't. When JR and Babe entered, they asked Babe if she was expecting. When Babe didn't know why they would think that, the group realized that Colby might be the one with a potential bun in the oven. Colby entered the living room to gaping stares from her family.
Thursday, October 5, 2006 To protect Tad, Zach and Dixie told Derek they indeed murdered Madden. Tad couldn't be arrested for perjury and they couldn't go to trial again thanks to double jeopardy. Derek sighed, stating they fooled the system. "But how the hell will you sleep?" he asked before leaving. Once the door was shut, Zach turned back to Tad and Dixie and smiled, "Just like a baby." Obviously still distraught over his actions, Tad asked them to leave. Dixie told Zach she'd meet him in the car and took a second to thank Tad privately. After Dix and Zach left, Jamie arrived to assure his father that he'd be there for him, no matter what. Later, back at the casino, Dixie realized Zach knew the truth about Tad. As for the future, Dixie proposed that she leave the hotel. She'd already caused enough trouble for Zach and Kendall. Zach assured her that wouldn't be necessary. Lily arrived home from the hospital today and after having a tense run-in with Sean, the young man let it slip to Erica that he was staying in Pine Valley and enrolling in PVH. Erica and Jack later shared words about this and Jack could tell Erica wasn't exactly pleased. Erica reminded her hubby of a time where they agreed not to get so involved in their children's lives that they forget each other. Sadly, the conversation ended with Erica deciding she needed a break. After an encounter with Josh at ConFusion, Babe had a little girl talk with her pal Amanda. Babe spilled that she was in love with Josh (and having an affair) as well as her hubby, and Amanda discussed her newfound feelings for Jonathan. Neither girl was sure what decisions they should make about their love lives. Meanwhile, Josh was surprised to run into his father at The Valley Inn. Turns out, Jeff was moving in to be closer to his son. During a father/son chat, Josh asked his pops, "What would you do if you fell in love with a married woman?" Jeff advised his son to find out more about the woman's husband. If he was an ass, he'd fight like hell for her. "That's your first piece of paternal advice," Josh smiled, "and I think you pretty much nailed it." After leaving his son, Jeff was surprised to find Erica moving in across the hall. Later, Josh headed back to ConFusion where he told Babe he was going to fight for her.
Wednesday, October 4, 2006 Tad was a puddle of tears with Dixie. "Our last best hope of finding our daughter is gone," he cried, blaming himself for losing Kate. He admitted he should have thought twice, but he was enjoying playing God. Now he's distraught over being a killer. Dixie insisted he cannot undo things, and sympathized with his acting in the moment. Tad now understood how Dixie could have made a desperate choice in the heat of the moment. "I was wrong for judging you," he sobbed. He begged her not to tell JR, and she vowed to never tell anyone. She suggested they look for Kate together, so Tad dug out his Big Box o' Evidence. Suddenly, there was a knock. It was Derek. Tad and Dixie tried to act mad at each other, but Derek congratulated Dixie on getting away with it, then arrested Tad for perjury. Erica saw Zach with Kendall, and Ryan lifted her up and carried her away to stop her from interfering. Kendall scolded Zach for exploiting the trapped Greg instead of rescuing him. "Some men don't deserve to be saved," Zach growled, before turning his contempt inward, branding himself cold and calculated, and said he wanted Madden dead, so he didn't help. Madden took Kate from Dixie, so he had to die. Zach pointed out that he had warned Kendall long ago that he was going to hurt her someday, so why is she surprised? Erica argued with Ryan over protecting Kendall from Zach. Ryan said it's Kendall’s call, and told her the Zach/Dixie affair was a ruse. Erica said she believes Zach killed Madden. Kendall insisted Zach is a good man who does the right thing. Zach said that although he loves her, "some men don't want to be saved." He suggested that if she wants Ryan, she should go get him. Erica feared Kendall would pick Zach, but Ryan insisted he will still be Kendall's friend, no matter what. Kendall recounted how Zach had repeatedly promised her and Spike a happy ending — but all the while he knew Madden was being tortured. So a disgusted Kendall threw him out. On his way out the door, he refused to tell her who buried Greg. Krystal asked Babe if she really was with Josh again. Babe refused to answer and fled. When Ryan came home, a tearful Kendall called out to him. Zach walked in and told Derek that Tad really did see Zach and Dixie with Madden's body the night they buried him.
Tuesday, October 3, 2006 Dixie was certain Tad had "lost his damn mind" when he claimed to accuse her of murder in order to protect her. Tad went on to explain the entire testimony had been a sham that Zach was in on, and Jamie and Aidan helped out with. (Yup, the security tape was indeed a fake.) He didn't let Dixie in on it because he claimed she wasn't a good liar. (Today's "Thing That Makes You Go, 'Hmmmm?'") Once Dixie finally accepted it, she couldn't help but wonder why he just didn't let her go to prison, especially since he hated her so much. Tad sighed and said he couldn't let her go to jail for a crime he knew she didn't commit. See, the reason he knew this was because he killed Madden. (Yay! The Whodunit is finally over!) Dixie was dumbfounded as Tad told the sordid tale of finding Madden on the plane, stealing a car (that just happened to be Dixie's rental, hence the blood in the trunk) from the airport, putting Erica on the park bench, burying Greg alive, rigging the stereo so he could correspond with the evil doc, and ultimately, the doctor's accidental death. After telling his story, Tad looked over at his ex-wife with tears shining in his eyes. It was ironic that after everything she did, it was his fault they'd never find their little girl. "I'm sorry," he cried. "I'm so sorry." Tad rested his head on her lap, and as Dixie stroked his hair, the broken grown man wept. (Insert recapper crying here.) Meanwhile, Zach went to see if there was any hope left for him and Kendall. She couldn't just get past the fact that Zach abandoned her to be with Dixie the night she came out of her coma. She needed the truth: What really happened that night? And how did Zach get that recording? "You're not going to like what I have to say," Zach managed to get out. He explained to his wife that while he didn't bury Greg, he knew that the doctor had been buried alive. See, some of Zach's men picked up the frequency from Tad's rigged stereo/microphone system, so Zach listened in with hopes of finding Kate. Kendall was stunned that Zach knew about the burial but didn't say anything. Zach claimed his only wish was that he had been the one to bury Madden. He was disgusted with everything Greg did while he was alive. When he went to comfort his wife, Kendall attacked: "Don't touch me." On the Fusion rooftop, Josh wondered where he and Babe were supposed to go next. Babe sighed, "I'm married and I love my husband... We can't take this any further." Josh wasn't convinced. "I need you to tell me how you REALLY feel, even if you don't think I should hear it." She went on and on about how much she loved her husband and Little A needed them, but Josh pointed out she hadn't yet said it was over. He loved her, but if she wanted their relationship to end, he'd walk out the door forever. As a tear slipped down her cheek Babe admitted she couldn't say it was over. "I don't want it to be!" she cried. In response, Josh swept her up in a passionate kiss.
Monday, October 2, 2006 Tad admitted he's angry that Dixie gave away their child, so Livia accused him of testifying to settle a grudge. Tad accused Zach and Dixie of lying — in fact, he said, everybody is lying. Except him. Dixie berated Tad from the defense table. Livia called the motel clerk, who testified about Zach and Dixie checking in. Kendall imagined them romping in bed, and watched as Zach put an arm around Dixie. Meanwhile, Jamie told Tad to retract his testimony, but Tad refused. JR accused Tad of taking revenge against his mother. Jamie defended Tad. Back in court, while the defense and prosecution delivered with summations, viewers heard Dixie's thoughts. She hoped the jury would acquit her so she can look for Kate — and pursue Zach, because Kendall isn't right for him. Kendall's internal monologue pleaded for Zach to get off — but she feared he was actually guilty. Ryan thought about how he didn't want Zach to go to prison because it would break Kendall's heart, and he wants her happy. Zach wondered if Kendall had fallen for Ryan again. Everyone wondered, "Do we have a chance?" When the case went to jury, Zach and Dixie kissed. Ryan took Kendall home. Josh was furious at Zach and Dixie, and locked eyes with Babe. Zach returned to his cell. JR, Babe and Dixie returned home, where Krystal told Babe her news. Meanwhile, Ryan played with Spike; Tad got weepy and hugged Jamie; Dixie visited Zach; Kendall somehow entered the jail without a guard escort and spied Zach and Kendall together. Later, Kendall returned home to find Ryan still playing with Spike; Josh somehow gained access to the darkened courtroom; Jamie nodded off while Tad brooded. The next morning, Ryan watched the sleeping Kendall, and Adam stopped Krystal from drinking coffee. JR's phone rang; Tad's phone rang; Ryan's phone rang. "The jury's back," Ryan said. Later, in court, the foreman read the verdicts: Not guilty on all counts. Zach and Dixie embraced as Kendall looked on with concern. Tad congratulated a stunned Dixie. Dixie hugged Jamie and Di, while Joe, Erica and Jeff tried to distract Josh. Later, Colby told JR that Josh and Babe are having an affair. JR scoffed and threatened to send her back to Liza. Zach brought Dixie to see Tad. She was aghast, but Zach told her to trust him and left. Tad offered to tell her "the truth." Ryan tried to comfort a stricken Kendall before leaving for work. Then Zach appeared at her door.
