At the hospital, Erica overheard Zach telling Kendall not to wait up. Zach claimed that it was an inside joke. Jesse approached them and asked for a moment with Zach. Erica eavesdropped as Jesse said there was a problem with "the other Kendall."

At home, Kendall heard that her double had been stabbed and was being transported to the hospital. Kendall alerted Liza; over the phone with Zach, they decided to rush Kendall to the hospital to switch her with the double.... Erica was floored to hear of Kendall's stabbing.... Jesse reluctantly brought Angie in on the scheme to switch Kendall and the double.... A suspicious Erica went to the Slater house and wrested Ian away, declaring that she needed to bring him to Kendall.... At the hospital, a shaken Angie prepared to treat the double and make sure that no one figured out she wasn't Kendall — a plan that was complicated by David's arrival. Zach helped Angie abscond with "Kendall." Erica, Liza and Ian arrived. David and Erica were clearly suspicious of Zach as Liza and Jesse sneaked Kendall into the double's room.... Angie was furious with Jesse but blocked Erica and David from entering the room where Kendall and the double were, along with Zach and Liza. By the time David barged in, Kendall was in the hospital bed and the double was gone. Erica brought Ian in and Kendall's reaction to him intensified Erica's certainty that something wasn't quite right.... David confronted Angie, convinced that he was pulling one over on him where Kendall was concerned.... Liza brought the double back to the secret room. She was not pleased and hissed to Liza that she refused to go back to jail.

In between swigs of whisky, Scott told Adam that he knows that Annie didn't kill his father. Adam asked if he knew who did. Scott was evasive. Annie, fresh from a tense talk with Ryan, phoned and told Adam that Emma hadn't woken up yet after surgery. Adam told Scott that he knows Emma did it and that he didn't want the little girl to have to pay for it.... Ryan listened as Annie spoke to her unconscious daughter. Scott showed up and defended Annie to Ryan, stoking Ryan's suspicions... Back at the house, Adam fought back tears as he was visited again by Stuart's spirit, who continued to insist that Adam had the answers.... Ryan begged Emma to wake up.... Adam came to the hospital and joined Annie and Scott, telling her, "Annie, I'm so sorry." He revealed that he thought Emma killed Stuart.
