AMC Recaps Week of May 16, 2005

Adam overhead Amanda claim that Di stole the money from the safe and blew up. To prove Di was a liar, Adam went to search her room. Di explained that Amanda set her up because she was ticked that Di made her take off Dixie's star necklace. "I'm not lying," Di said calmly, and JR assured her that he believed her. Adam returned with $500 he found under Di's mattress. After hearing Di out, JR didn't fire her, instead he demanded to talk to Amanda alone. In Amanda's room, he furiously pulled out her diary and read an entry: "I stole big bucks from my friends and blamed it on the nanny," Amanda wrote, and the money was right there. (Ummm, not a smart move, Amanda.) She explained that she needed the money for school, and talked about her problems with her parents. "Tell me how to fix it," she begged and then kissed him smack on the lips... Babe, who's voice was back, and Jamie spent the episode making love and arguing (still) about him taking the money and going to medical school...

Kendall was extremely upset that Bianca brought Ethan with her. Turns out Ethan didn't explain that Kendall offered to marry him as long as he signed over his shares of Cambias to Zach. When Ethan came to the door of Kendall's room, Bianca yelled at him for not telling her the entire truth and left. Kendall slammed the door in his face and the two shared a heated conversation with the door between them. Later, Bianca had a heart-to-heart with Ethan about Kendall... and Zach. "If you can let go, you'll finally find the family you deserve," she counseled.

Erica went off on Jack for not letting her help Bianca and Kendall. When she realized what she was doing, she begged him to stop her and not let her ruin their wedding — and he did, with a kiss. Later he presented her with a present: a tiny little maid's outfit. (Remember Corrine?) After a love-fest, they parted ways so not to stay the night together..

The next morning, Amanda awoke to JR leaning over her. She owed him big, he declared. "How much do you really like our good friend Jamie?"... Bikini-clad Greenlee and Kendall headed to take a dip in the pool before the wedding. When Kendall went to get a towel from the Pool Room (where Zach was being stored only in the company of Parakeet who told him his name was James Bond. Yup, you read that right. Zach spent the episode talking to a parakeet.) Greenlee screamed "No!" to stop her... And Erica received a sweet note from Jack but remained superstitious and determined not to see him until the wedding.

At the roadside bar, Babe battled JR and laryngitis. Just when it was getting ugly, Jamie entered to rescue his damsel in distress. He informed JR he wasn't about to let his Aunt Phoebe buy him away from Babe. A snide remark from JR later, and Jamie pulled his arm back to punch his big brother. Thankfully Ryan intervened. However, once JR started talking about Ryan's crazy brothers, it was his turn to attack, strangling the young Chandler and throwing him on table. Returning the earlier intervention, Jamie pulled Ryan off of him. Ryan left the bar and headed to a mystery place, all while unknowingly being followed by Simone.

Di freaked when she saw Amanda was wearing Dixie's star necklace, and viewers were haunted with memories of ABC's Shop the Soaps days. Amanda tried to explain that JR gave it to her, but Di didn't believe her and made her take it off. Janet from Another Planet's daughter vowed that Di wouldn't get the best of her. Shortly after, JR returned to the mansion and went directly to his safe, where he discovered a lot of money was missing. Enter Amanda: "The nanny took it. I saw her." Anyone smell a rat?... Aidan and Tad spent the episode discussing Jane Doe, who Tad thought could be his dearly departed Dixie. Turns out Jane Doe was in the states now. Tad happened upon another clue: one of Aidan's men had spoken to a staff member at the hospital Jane Doe was at — one named Diana Cole.

In Boca, Erica and Jack welcomed Reggie, Lily, Kendall and Greenlee. Just when Erica was feeling guilty for Myrtle, Opal and Palmer not being there, Reggie revealed presents from Pine Valley, including one from Opal that said "Tenth time is a charm." Lily was flabbergasted to discover that Erica had already been married nine times and worried she would break her vows this time, too. After a series of flashbacks, Erica assured her soon-to-be stepdaughter, "We both had other loves, but we never stopped loving each other."

Out on the vacant Florida beach, Kendall was watching the waves, when a mystery person presented her with a beautiful flower: it was Zach. (Awww!) Greenlee — who brought a huge pair of binoculars to Boca for some reason — was out on the beach and spied Kendall and Zach together. She later confronted Kendall about seeing Zach, but Kendall denied he could possibly be there. She stayed firm that it was over between her and Zach. Erica overhead and was elated. In the midst of her excitement she feared Kendall was going back to Ethan instead. No way, Kendall assured her. "If I ever see his face again I'm going to kick him right in his accent." Meanwhile, Greenlee tracked down Zach and tricked him into thinking Kendall had confided in her about their relationship. By the end of the episode, she had locked him in the pool room. She was determined not let him marry Kendall.

Back to the festivities: The Kane/Montgomery clan shared a beautiful reunion with Bianca (Welcome back, Eden Riegel!) and adorable baby Miranda. Bianca explained that Maggie couldn't make it because of class, but she sent her love. She might not have brought Maggie, but Bianca brought another surprise guest: Ethan. As soon as Kendall locked eyes with him she ran off, Bianca running after her sister. Guess she'll kick him in his accent next time she sees him.

Jack and Erica awoke beaming in each others arms on the yacht, and he made plans to return home. As they kissed on deck, something caught Erica's eye. "Oh, Jack, look!" she cooed just before a milk commercial aired. (Who knew Erica was so big on dairy?) After the break viewers saw she was actually enchanted by a hotel — a pink hotel. Erica dragged him around the strangely deserted grounds until she spotted "kismet" in the form of...a tree. Yes, Erica Kane declared a banyan tree — a dirty, bug-infested tree — "kismet." Fate. Jack admitted it reminded him of the way their "crazy family" came together, and Erica decided, "Jack, our wedding, it has to be here." A skeptical Jack agreed when she explained a wedding here "isn't over-the-top. This isn't crazy. It's just so..." "...us," Jack finished. "Let's call the kids," he added. "Let's get this party started." So Jack summoned Greenlee to the Boca Raton Resort and Club. "I really need you to be here," he pleaded. Very special guest star Tony Danza played a fawning wedding planner who smiled vacantly and managed to pronounce the whole name of the hotel. "It is our pleasure to give you the wedding of your dreams," he chirped. As the tune "Walking on Sunshine" played, Jack and Erica starred in a travelogue for the still-creepily-empty edifice. Apparently it was off-season for the entire state of Florida, since even the overcast beach (so much for sunshine) was deserted. (Wait! There's two women at a table on the veranda.)

Greenlee overheard Ryan speaking urgently on the phone, but he distracted her with a bouquet of anniversary flowers. When he left the room, Greens *69ed to learn he called a doctor's office. Ryan trotted out champagne, which she gulped down to find a gold-and-diamond necklace. Ryan called it insurance in case he does something dumb before their 50th or 60th anniversaries (like, say, have a secret vasectomy?) She followed the theme, getting him a gift that was "all paper": a complete run of "The Adventurers of Dynamite Kiddo" comic books. Greens and Ryan then visited Fusion, where Kendall was previously snippy when Simone asked about her marriage proposal. Simone was wowed by Greenlee's bling-bling. Kendall wished Ryan a happy anniversary, and he wished she would keep his plans for the big snip-snip hush-hush. "I love to watch Greenlee squirm," Kendall admitted, but she feared that when Greens learns Ryan is "fixed" she will hate him — and fix Kendall's wagon for not tipping her off. Ryan said Greens will need Kendall as a friend, and she relented. "Who says I'm the authority on marriage anyway?" she asked. (Certainly nobody who has seen the show...) Greens feared flying to Florida would ruin her anniversary, but Ryan insisted she go — without him. Ryan didn't want to ruin Erica's day with his "drama" with Jack, and he had a doctor's appointment anyway, so he would wait for her. Kendall vowed that would be "one hell of a homecoming."

Reggie wanted to discuss Danielle's position on sex, but she assured him, "The truck is not picking up your load of BS today." Reggie admitted he's frustrated and wants her "all the time." However, he agreed, "I love you and I will wait for you." Dan said she'll tell him when she's ready, and "it'll be a pretty freakin' big deal." Meanwhile, Lily appeared at Wildwood to see her "boyfriend" Sam, who gave her a rose and kissed her sweetly. Aidan worried about Sam's motives. In the greenhouse Lily said, "boyfriends are confusing," but she likes kissing and is willing to practice touching. Sam dismissed talk of his sexual history, declared himself her boyfriend in French and noted that "the coolest part about having a girlfriend is touching." They kissed just as Reggie appeared.

Erica called Bianca with "wonderful news."

Maria, dressed in angelic white, showed up at Zach's — she had come to say good-bye. They agreed that due to the circumstances, things just couldn't work out between them. "Thank you for loving me," Maria choked out and let Zach know that she, too, had loved him deeply. And then she asked for one last kiss. (And, wow, what a good-bye kiss!!) With tears falling from both of their eyes, she walked out the door and out of his life... Babe tried to plea with her fiancè to let her go and consider Phoebe's offer. Jamie thought about it for awhile, then returned and lifted her into his arms where he planted kiss after kiss on her. (Get it? He chose her.) He assured her that he loved her, and JR couldn't change it and his Aunt Phoebe couldn't buy it.

Erica didn’t escape through the porthole; the tiny diva had hidden in a chest. Jack flipped when he couldn't find her, though, and dove in after her — or so she thought. She screamed for him and ran out of the room, and smack into him. "Made you look," he teased. Turns out they are two peas in a pod and were both faking. They spent the episode apologizing to each other and finally realized that they had to stop meddling in Kendall and Greenlee's lives if they wanted their relationship to succeed. They vowed to do just that, sealed there deal with a lip lock and then made love. While basking in the afterglow, Jack had one more thing to talk to his darling about. "Will you marry me?" he asked. And she answered with a beaming smile. Can he take that as a yes?

Back at Kendall's, JR informed her of Ethan's offer to give JR back the family business as long as JR said sayonara to Kendall. Then he let her know that he declined. "Are you falling for me?" Kendall asked. Yup, he was head over heals in lust with her. Love was for suckers. JR could tell something was on her mind and she confided that it was Ethan. She admitted to JR, and herself, that she still loved him and hastily picked up the phone to call Ethan. JR used his power of persuasion to stop her. Kendall insisted that JR was dangerous for her... but irresistible at the same time. (Obviously, because she then took him to bed!) After having sex, JR fell asleep, but Kendall laid awake thinking of Ethan and Zach. She left JR in her bed and walked over to Zach's: she had an answer to his marriage proposal... Meanwhile, Ethan showed up at a mystery person's door. "I need your help. I won't lose Kendall," he declared.

JR was obviously delighted during Phoebe's final wishes, and the delight only grew as the reading continued. Phoebe left JR in charge of Jamie's trust. It was JR who would decide when Jamie had dumped Babe for good, and only then could JR release the trust. If Jamie stayed with Babe, JR kept the money. When JR noticed Brooke wanted Jamie to think about this, he noted the anti-Babe association was growing. "We could get T-shirts! Can I use the money for that?" he quipped. And while Jamie seemed certain he wasn't going to accept the money, Babe surprised him and urged him to consider it... While this was going on, Sam declared he wanted to live with Tad. "I am a Martin; wee're blood. You can't say no," explained the youngin'. Well, apparently he can. Tad called Maria and assured her he would be bringing her son home. After the will drama, Tad took Sam back to Wildwind and tried to talk him out of searching for Kelsey and Bobby. He didn't seem to get through to the kid, but he promised Maria that he eventually would.

Spotting Kendall alone with her husband, Greenlee started fighting with her on-again, off-again friend. In not-so-many words, Kendall urged Ryan to tell Greenlee the truth about his vasectomy plans, but he kept mum, talking his way out of everything Kendall threw at him. Kendall was visibly annoyed, but didn't spill his secret. She left with words of wisdom: "Didn't we break up over the whole trust thing?" With that, she made her way to Zach's while Greenlee and Ryan spent the rest of the episode discussing one thing. You guessed it: to have or not to have a baby. At Zach's, Kendall dropped the bombshell that she was ready to get married — tonight. He warned her that Ethan would hate her if she married him. Cue JR's entrance: "I'll be there to help her through it." Oh, if we get married, I'm not giving up JR, my lover, Kendall explained to Zach. JR made a temporary exit and Daddy Cambias agreed that was fine, but it had to work both ways. He filled her in on Erica's proposal and before leaving, he urged her to think this marriage through. Was she ready to lose Ethan forever? She couldn't think about Ethan for long though, because JR reappeared and planted a kiss on her.

On a private yacht, Erica lifted the mask to reveal her kidnapper — Jack! He explained he wasn't about to walk away from her, not without a fight. He prepared her a plate of pasta, but instead of eating it, Erica threw the food all over him. He picked up a plate of dessert as if to retaliate, but stopped himself from beginning a food fight. (Smart man!) The two bickered about everything that was going wrong between them and Erica explained that because of Jack, she had to resort to desperate measures: she had to ask Zach to marry her. "This is a sick joke, right?" Jack groaned and left her alone before he could do something he would regret, locking the door behind him. One locked door isn't going to stop Ms. Kane though. Once Jack returned, he discovered his lady love had crawled through a porthole and escaped!
