AMC Recaps Week of June 20, 2005

"What did I miss?" Babe questioned after returning home to Amanda and Jamie looking awfully comfortable on the sofa together. Seems Amanda was ready to find herself a new place to live responded Jamie. There wasn't enough room for the three of them there. Amanda tried to laugh off Jamie's sudden urge to get rid of her by blaming it on her horrible sense of humor (a.k.a. her 'anatomy lesson' with Jamie). "I'm off like a prom dress," Amanda grinned and headed out, allowing them to decide between themselves if she should stay or not. Jamie was adamant that three's a crowd. But after they had sex, Babe convinced Jamie to let Amanda stay.
After leaving Babe and Jamie's, Amanda found herself at the bar, and more importantly, she found Aidan there, too. He was impressed with how she helped him with a case (setting a cheating husband up so Aidan could snap some photos) and though he turned her down for a night of fun, he did tell her to let him know if she ever needed a job.
David surprised Krystal and immediately went to the prison for his little visit. After playfully pointing out the coincidences between Di Kirby, Diana Cole and back-from-the-dead Dixie Cooney, Krystal blew up at David. "You are a dirty, lying, slimebag!" she yelled. "That woman is no more Dixie than I am." She vowed to stop his plan, but he forbade it. He explained that he was doing this all for Babe and he wasn't about to let her ruin it now.
A furious JR informed Tad that 'Dixie' called David after the accident but let them think she was dead. "You guys always forget I'm human," she tried to explain, recalling the past with David. She apologized for hurting them, but asked them to take her back into their hearts, but only as a woman with flaws, not as St. Dixie she was previously made out to be. If they couldn't do that, maybe she did the right thing by staying away. She left them alone, noting how maybe her return could at least bring them back together. Though Tad and JR didn't reconcile, they finally agreed on something: they both hated David Hayward. JR returned to the Chandler Mansion to find 'Dixie' holding Little Adam. Without any words, he walked over to them and embraced his mother and son.
Despite going back and forth whether she wanted to hear the truth or not, Greenlee finally let Kendall tell her of Ryan's newest secret. Greenlee was disbelieving and wanted to see it with her own eyes. When they arrived at the mystery spot, Zach opened the door. "You don't want to see this," Zach tried to warn Greenlee. She didn't care, she had to see for herself and she barged into the room. With Simone and Kendall by her side, Greenlee watched in horror as Ryan was beating another guy to a pulp while many men cheered them on.

Kendall confided to Zach her fears about Greenlee's plan to have Ryan's baby. Meanwhile, Greenlee told Ryan that she heard through David about Ryan and David's "death match." Ryan assured her that he's not going to participate in another fight, but Greenlee wasn't sure she believed him. After, Ryan had a dream in which he "fixed everything" for Greens, but then Jonathan appeared and said Greenlee was dead. In the dream, Kendall and Simone also appeared, warning that Ryan would destroy Greenlee. Greenlee was then seen being attacked in the dream by Ryan's dad, and then disappeared. Ryan was haunted by the voices of Jonathan and Greenlee claiming that Ryan loved them — "and then you killed me," finished Dream Greens. In real life, Greenlee assured Kendall that Ryan isn't having an affair.
David mocked JR for believing "Dixie" had been dead, claiming that he knew Dixie had been alive for years. "Tell me he's making this up," JR pleaded to Di/"Dixie." "You kept her from us on purpose!" JR growled at David. JR noted that he overheard David and "Dixie" discussing some kind of deal. David said that she was asking him to keep quiet about her arrival, but JR told him to shut it. "Your mother is back from the dead, what else to you want?" David asked JR. "I want you gone!" JR bellowed. David berated JR, calling him a jerk, until "Dixie" begged him to stop. After JR walked away, "Dixie" slapped Dave and chewed him out for being so cruel to JR. David reminded Di that she's not really Dixie; Di regretted getting involved with David's scheme. Later, "Dixie" asked for JR's forgiveness. "I love you with all of my heart," "Dixie" assurred him.
In jail, Krystal questioned a visiting Babe about Dixie. "Is she pretty?" Krystal wondered. Babe answered by giving her mom some pictures of a now-blonde Di/"Dixie." They recalled how she used to have dark hair. Soon, Tad arrived with a care package for Krystal. Krys wasn't in the mood to party, however. "We need to talk about Dixie," she began, pointing out that "Dixie's" face and voice are different. Tad replied that he doesn't know why Dixie returned, but that he's not planning to get involved in the Dixie situation. "This Dixie — it's like we never met. I don't know what she's capable of," Tad admitted. After Tad left, Krystal called David and told him she saw a picture of "Dixie." "It's a hard face to forget," Krystal said.
Ethan tried to get close to Simone, but she refused to be his "arm candy" so he could make Kendall jealous. "I'm not into playing games," she explained. Ethan responded by giving her a stack of board games. After playing around — literally and figuratively — they kissed.
Amanda attempted to flirt with a shirtless Jamie by telling him that he'd inspired her to study "anatomy" at school. She also noted that she's free of JR and wants to find a guy like Jamie. "You have to comparison shop, right?" Amanda said of Babe. "How else can you be so sure she's the one?" JR became angry with her when he realized she was coming on to him.

After Josh assured Erica that he was up to the challenge, she hired him on a trial basis as NEW BEGINNINGS's supervising producer. Kendall tried to evade Erica's questions about how she first met Josh. As Erica deduced that she made his acquaintance at the sperm bank, Zach walked in and claimed that he and Kendall were anticipating a blessed event. Kendall assured Erica that she and Zach were not planning to get pregnant. Privately, Zach demanded to know from Kendall why she wasn't at the casino the previous night. Zach divulged to Kendall that Ryan had been there and got out of control. "Boys will be boys," shrugged Kendall, but Zach stressed that Ryan's behavior was boorish, not boyish. Kendall agreed to talk to him, but Zach didn't think that would do the trick and tried to impress upon Kendall how dangerous Ryan's behavior might be. He prepared to tell Kendall where Ryan goes "when he thinks no one's looking." After informing Kendall of Ryan's activities off-camera, she reeled from the news and fretted that Ryan was going to get himself killed.
Lily happily informed Reggie and Jack that she and Sam are back together. Jack pulled Sam aside for a chat about how Lily is special; Sam defended his honest interest in Lily. In the hallway, Lily pulled out a notebook to jot down Reggie's points about stuff to look out for with guys. Reggie was put on the spot when Lily reminded him that she'd caught him having unbuttoned Danielle's shirt, which Reggie just described as a no-no. Jack consented to Lily leaving on her date. "There goes our little girl," sighed Jack to Reggie, who decided to follow his sister and her beau. Jack forced him to stay home.
JR, and then Tad, socked David when he grabbed Di into a kiss. David continued to put on a show of shock over Dixie's return, replete with feigned mourning over the baby Dixie lost. Babe dragged David away as he begged Dixie to come see him. When Tad made a crack about how Dixie is just not realizing how twisted Hayward is, JR advised him to "suck it up and move on." "Yeah, I'll do that," shot back Tad. Di stopped him from leaving to make another impassioned attempt to foster peace between JR and Tad. But JR spit that he and Tad would never reconcile, then left to tend to Little Adam. Alone with Di, Tad warned her that she couldn't just swoop back into town and put a Band-Aid on her shattered family.
Back at David's cabin, Babe was confused by the "wild look" in her dad's eyes; David assured her that he was okay. Babe was worried about Krystal, but David vowed to make sure Tad and Dixie didn't reconcile. Babe observed that David truly loved Dixie; he confirmed it, but insisted that Babe and Little Adam were his priority now. David flipped when Babe noted that Di came down on her for causing JR pain and swore he'd take care of it. After Babe left, Di tore into David's cabin and lashed out at Hayward for rubbing the lost child in Tad's face. David asked Di to explain why she was hard on Babe. "That was not part of the deal," he cautioned. JR, who had just arrived, heard this bit. "What deal is that?" he demanded to know.
Ryan warned Greg not to threaten Greenlee; Greg insisted they step inside Ryan and Greenlee's penthouse to discuss his accusations. Greenlee forced Ryan to leave her alone with Greg. Greg then made it clear that he expected Greenlee to return Ryan's sperm sample. Greenlee refused to cop to having committed the crime. Greenlee feigned outrage over how the clinic misplaced the vials and made it clear to Greg that if he mentioned her name and the vials in the same sentence to Ryan, she would make mincemeat of his reputation. Greg left when Ryan returned home. Ryan then realized he recognized Greg as a fertility doctor, not a shrink as Greenlee had claimed. Greenlee spun a tale about having visited Greg in an effort to make peace with what Ryan had done by undergoing the vasectomy. Greenlee swore to Ryan that she wasn't at the clinic to find an anonymous donor.
Dr. Madden headed to Erica to inform her that they had a problem and was stunned to learn that Erica had hired Josh. "Fire my son, now," Greg begged La Kane. Erica wouldn't hear of it — until Greg slipped that in exchange, he would keep quiet about what her stepdaughter had done. Soon enough, Erica became the subject of the conversation in a way that gave her pause. "How did this become about me?" she asked. "And why are you so determined that your son not work for me?" She then refused to fire Josh.

Tad, Brooke and Joe walked into Wildwind, where Sam was throwing a fit about not wanting to go to California with Maria, Maddie and Anita. On Tad's orders, Sam apologized to Maddie, then delighted in the news that the Martins (plus Brooke) have agreed to host him for the summer. Sam was touched when he learned that Maria had requested this arrangement on his behalf. After Sam and the Martins left, Brooke and Maria chatted about how Maddie is adjusted. Brooke praised Maria for doing a great job; Maria thanked Brooke for her help. Both women got a little teary and marveled at how they've somehow become friends. Maria then visited Edmund's grave and vowed to him that she would remember the good times. Maddie listened to her mom's soliloquoy, then revealed herself to her mom. "You really did love Daddy," she noted. She apologized to Maria for how terrible she's been since Edmund's death. "It's okay," smiled Maria, hugging Maddie tightly and promising her that everything would turn out fine.
Mimi stopped by Jack's looking for Danielle, who had been out all night. Lily revealed that Dani spent the night in Reggie's room. Mimi wasn't reassured even after Reggie and Dani swore they didn't have sex. Mimi pleaded with Dani to come home with her; Dani remained resistant. Dani then fumed privately to Reggie about how she already has a family, there in Pine Valley. Jack, meanwhile, advised Mimi to give Dani some time. Lily then excused herself to go to the store. In the hallway, she ran into Sam, who apologized to Lily for having lost his temper with her. Sam gave Lily the great news that he is remaining in town for the summer; she was pleased. Back at Jack's, Mimi accepted Jack's offer to use Greenlee's penthouse for a while. Reggie and Jack then went to look for Lily, which didn't take long: She was in the hallway, kissing Sam.
Ryan tried to return the key to the mysterious hostess. "Hold onto it," she advised. "No," he replied. "I'm done."
Greenlee thought she had convinced David to inseminate her, but she was wrong; he planned instead to destroy the vials of Ryan's sperm with acid. Greenlee snapped into action to stop him. David explained to Greenlee that Ryan just exploded violently against him and is too far gone to be a parent. Greenlee was mortified by David's account; Hayward then twisted the knife by saying Leo would never forgive him if he helped Greens conceive Ryan's child. Greenlee countered that Leo would want her to do whatever it takes to help Ryan. David finally agreed to hold onto the DNA samples without destroying them and to test them to determine which one is Lavery's. In return, Greenlee promised that she'll walk away from Ryan if she senses danger.
A cocky Josh, hoping to land the supervising producer position at NEW BEGINNINGS, pressed Kendall to sing his praises to Erica. Erica was impressed by Josh's educational background, but turned him down because he has no experience with TV production. After Erica left, Kendall thanked a flirty Josh for keeping quiet about how they met and agreed to try to convince Erica to give him a chance. Ryan then showed up and Josh said that he'd heard all about him. "What did you hear?" Ryan asked. Josh clarified that he had read all about Ryan, given the press's coverage of the Cambiases. Ryan then chatted with Erica and assured her that things were going well with Greenlee. After their confab, Kendall begged Erica to give Josh another chance, and Erica relented. Josh then delivered a fabulous pitch to Erica about how she needs to reveal her personal self to her audience; La Kane was impressed. Josh asked her point-blank if he had the job.
Babe approached JR and Dixie at the park, where they were reminiscing and playing with Little Adam, and told an icy JR that she wanted to formally meet her son's grandmother. After Di instructed JR to speak nicely to Babe, JR got huffy with his mama. Di made it clear she wouldn't tolerate his back talk. With one last parting shot to Babe, JR excused himself. Di then asked Babe how she could possibly have kept Little Adam from his daddy; Babe pointed out she's not the only person who betrayed JR. She then called out Dixie for her affair with David. "It is not my fault that JR is such a slimeball," Babe insisted. "You're the one who left him with Adam." JR returned just in time to hear Babe hurling accusations at Di, and he told his ex she had no right to speak that way to his mother. David then jogged up, a staged run-in so that he could (with JR as a witness) "find out" about Dixie being back. "This can't possibly be true," gasped David. "I can't deal with this right now," sighed Di. David then grabbed Di and planted a major kiss on her lips — which Tad witnessed.
Greenlee returned home, but Ryan wasn't there. There was a knock at the door: It was Greg, there to accuse her of stealing Ryan's sperm, which he has discovered missing from the clinic. Greg threatened to have her arrested, which an arriving Ryan overheard. He demanded to know who the hell Greg thinks he is.

Aidan wasn't biting when Amanda tried to hire him for a love-related case (though he did seem more than a bit turned on). He told Amanda he had the perfect solution to their problem: She shouldn't fall in love with him, and he wouldn't fall in love with her. When Anita walked in, she hardly seemed pleased. After Amanda left, Anita went off on Aidan for his penchant for flirting with younger girls. Aidan got defensive, so Anita apologized. She explained to Aidan that she still hasn't healed from Bobby's betrayals; Aidan vowed that he wasn't going anywhere. In response, Anita announced that she was going somewhere: out of town for a while with Maria and the kids. Aidan was disappointed but understanding. She promised to call if she needed anything; they shared a good-bye kiss.
Adam was alarmed, and skeptical, when JR accepted Di as Dixie and tried to dissuade his son from making a horrible mistake. "Our son," corrected Di. JR warned Adam to back off and welcomed his mom home. Adam left after Di agreed to his demand for a DNA test, so Di and JR sat down for a heart-to-heart, which Amanda interrupted. She insulted Di, so JR ordered her to leave, but Di calmed him down. JR cautioned Amanda not to bad-mouth his mom or their deal was off, but Amanda played dirty and threatened to tell Dixie all about JR's schemes. He stood up to her efforts to bilk more money out of him; she withdrew her offer to sleep with him when her bid to break up Jamie and Babe proved successful.
Josh explained to Greg what he's doing in town but Greg was still suspicious about what was going on in the lab behind him (where Kendall, Greenlee and Simone were hiding out). After Greg was assured that things were okay in the lab, he summoned Josh to his office. Relieved, Kendall, Greenlee and Simone beat a hasty retreat and headed to David's cabin, but David was nowhere to be found. Greenlee invited Kendall to lecture her about the risk she was taking. Hart promised not to tell Ryan but confirmed that she was deeply concerned about what Greenlee was doing. Before leaving, Kendall sincerely wished Greenlee luck.
Ryan was mortified by how badly he's beaten David. "What do you say we bury him at the dump?" said Zach, who arrived on the scene. David came to and lashed out at Ryan for his attack, warning him that his temper is going to cost him Greenlee. After David stormed off, Zach warned Ryan to treat Kendall with respect — and also warned Ryan that he knows where Ryan goes some nights and what he does when he goes there. "There's the door," shot back Ryan. "You need help, Lavery," replied Zach, who added that things seemed slated to turn out very badly, and not just for him. When David got home, Greenlee happily informed him that she'd stolen Ryan's sperm sample. But David was reluctant to help Greenlee conceive a new Lavery. Greenlee didn't respond well to David's change of heart, but he insisted that he wouldn't come to her aid.
Erica did a flurry of interviews to find the right producer for her new TV show. Suffice it to say, none of the candidates were quite right. Greg then arrived and confirmed that he was willing to appear on NEW BEGINNINGS. Kendall showed up; Erica introduced her to Greg. After Greg left, Erica excitedly informed Kendall that she wanted to hire her as her supervising producer. Josh then burst in and declared that he was her new supervising producer.
