JR assured Dixie that the christening of Little Adam was going to proceed as scheduled. Dixie praised JR for forgiving Tad, but wondered what it would take for him to make up with Babe and Jamie. JR scoffed that that would never happen, then stormed upstairs, where a weepy Amanda was waiting in his bed. She apologized for blowing their deal; he asked her to leave. She made an impassioned speech about how badly she wanted to stay in Pine Valley and asked him to hold her and make her feel safe. She pulled JR into a kiss, which quickly became steamy. Post-sex, JR turned on Amanda, demanding that she leave and never return. "I hate you!" she spat.
Downstairs, Adam tried to convince Dixie that he accepted her as Dixie, and Dixie voiced to Adam her desire for JR and Jamie to reconcile. Adam, needless to say, did not share her view. When he sweet-talked her, Dixie told Adam to just tell her what he wanted. He asked her not to move out with JR and the baby. Dixie's tender-hearted response further convinced Adam that she's an imposter.
Babe railed at Josh for rescuing her from the frat boys he thought were kidnapping her, but were in fact stealing Jamie's car. Josh agreed to help her retrieve the vehicle. They tracked down the losers on the beach and freaked them out by posing as a gangster and a mob boss's daughter. The guys took the bait and fled, terrified. Babe and Josh reveled in the success of their ploy.
Greg surprised Erica by reaching out to her in her office. "Leave me alone," she commanded. Greg then surprised Erica again by telling her that he wasn't going to press charges against Greenlee and he was going to stop trying to prevent Josh from working on NEW BEGINNINGS. Erica then opened up to Greg about her friendship with Ryan, and the two agreed to have a new beginning of their own.
Kendall demanded to know what Zach was hiding in the shed. Zach bought some time when Aidan arrived seeking to know where Greenlee was because he had news about Erin Lavery. This piqued Ryan's curiosity, as he was listening from inside the shed. The news was this: Erin's alive and in Canada. Kendall and Aidan left to have a heart-to-heart by the gazebo, where a comment of Aidan's triggered Kendall's suspicion that perhaps Ryan faked his death. Meanwhile, Zach busted into the shed, where he found Ryan, desperate to tear after Erin. Zach reminded him that it was going to take some time to get him out of town safely.... Kendall talked Aidan to picking the lock at the shed.

Amanda begged Tad to talk Aidan into letting her keep her new job at their agency. While Tad grilled Amanda about her qualifications, Aidan got distracted by the agency's file on Erin Lavery. After Tad left, Amanda asked Aidan not to be mad at her and said that she'd never intended to be mean to Lily. Aidan forgave her for her treatment of Lily, but maintained that she's trouble. Amanda left; Aidan got a phone call about the Lavery case. Amanda returned and planted a long kiss on Aidan before exiting again. Jarred, Aidan went back to his phone call.
Danielle showed up at Reggie's to try to explain why she'd slept with Josh. He replied that his family was in crisis, rendering her drama with Josh immaterial. She pressed him for details, but he refused to proffer them and sarcastically thanked her for saving him half a summer by cheating on him. "I love you!" she insisted. "That's too bad, because I don't love you," was his embittered response. After Dani left, Tad called, having realized that Sam had gone missing.
Lily freaked out at Wildwind, convinced someone else was there. Sam agreed to investigate but didn't turn anything up except for a shirt that belonged to his dad. Lily thought that perhaps Edmund's ghost was present; Sam assured her that wasn't the case. Tad then arrived, followed by Reggie, to bust up the teens' rendez-vous. Reggie dragged Lily away; Tad read Sam the riot act. Sam defended his interest in Lily to Tad. Back at the penthouse, Reggie ranted about women to Lily. She got upset and stormed off to her room.
Erica, Kendall, Greenlee and Jack beseeched Zach to report what he'd learned by visiting the site of Ryan's accident. Zach, knowing full well that Ryan is alive, reminded the group that there's no way he could have survived the crash. He gently tried to show Greenlee that Ryan had changed; she got defensive and ran back into her bedroom.... Zach asked Kendall if she thought Greenlee could have said Ryan. "I don't know," Hart sighed. "Maybe not.".... Greenlee assured Jack she'd be okay and dispatched him to break the news to Reggie.
From inside the shed, Ryan eavesdropped on Ethan and Simone's discussion about his "death" and got steamed when Simone said Greenlee did the right thing by getting pregnant. Ryan left and showed up in time to prevent Ethan and Simone from having guards open the shed; they'd heard a Ryan-produced noise inside. Zach got rid of Ethan and Simone and volunteered to help Ryan make a clean getaway from Pine Valley.... Simone tipped off Kendall that something weird is going on at the shed.... Greenlee fantasized about Ryan returning home. When she woke up all alone, she began to sob. Simone consoled her... When Zach exited the shed, Kendall was waiting for him. "What are you hiding?" she demanded. Inside the shed, Ryan panicked.
Jack came home and Reggie told him that Lily sneaked out to see Sam. Jack summoned her out of her room to tell her the sad news about Ryan.
At Wildwind, someone moved Edmund's shirt...
Erica, shaken by the day's events, went to her office. Someone touched her shoulder. "You!" she exclaimed.

Greenlee lashed out at Jack after calling him into her room. Erica entreated her to stop, but Jack volunteered to serve as his daughter's punching bag. At last, he was able to get through to Greens and she collapsed tearfully into Jack's arms. Erica quietly left to let them grieve together.
Kendall lamented to Simone that Greenlee doesn't deserve the tragedy that has befallen her. When Ethan showed up, Kendall went off on him, too, and railed against the concept of love. Simone defended the possibility that it truly exists. Ethan sided with Kendall. When Erica emerged from Greenlee's room, she requested alone time with Kendall, which Ethan and Simone granted. Kendall assured Erica she was fine; Erica didn't buy it. Kendall copped to being distraught and fell into Erica's arms... Simone opened up to Ethan about how much it had meant to her to be able to support Greenlee's quest for a baby.
Ryan hid from the rescue workers who were attempting to locate his body, but was discovered by Zach. Ryan grabbed him by the collar and threatened to kill Zach if he disclosed that he was alive. Zach told Ryan about the look in Greenlee's eyes when Slater delivered the news that the rescuers had given up hope; Ryan insisted that he remain "dead" precisely so Greenlee wouldn't suffer. For a moment there, it looked like Zach might alert the rescue workers to Ryan's presence — but we fans know that would never happen, right? So after getting rid of the fools — um, tireless rescuers — Zach grilled Ryan about his motives for playing dead. Zach had to admit that Ryan's pretty much stuck being himself for the rest of his life, that they are both what their fathers made them. But, pointed out Zach, their fathers didn't have a wife like Greenlee. "And now, neither do I," shot back a manic-eyed Ryan, who declared that as far as he was concerned, he had no baby. Zach promised not to say anything but warned Ryan it would be hard to get out of town undetected. Zach brought Ryan to a shed to hide, then locked him in it against his will. Zach returned to the Lavery residence, where Kendall immediately sensed that something was up.
Sam sneaked into Tad's office to score the security codes to Wildwind, then phoned Lily. Lily agreed to bend the rules by meeting Sam at Wildwind. Sam's exit was delayed by Tad, who wanted to have a man-to-man tallk; Lily was stymied by the arrival of Aidan, who had been dispatched by Jack to keep an eye on her. Lily got so agitated, she kicked Aidan in the shin. Meanwhile, Tad apologized to Sam for neglecting him. Sam finally coaxed Tad into letting him leave, though Tad warned him that he would one day make Sam spill what was going on with him. After Sam left, Amanda planted a surprise kiss on the top of Tad's head, then claimed she'd mistaken him for Aidan. He was dubious. Amanda then claimed that Aidan had offered her a job at the detective agency.... Back at Jack's penthouse, Aidan gave Reggie the bad news about Ryan. Lily managed to leave the apartment and meet Sam at Wildwind. It was dark inside, so she suggested candles. Sam became disturbed by how deserted his once-vital house was; Lily consoled him. Sam turned on some mild tunes and they decided to dance. Then Lily screamed, claiming to have seen someone else inside the house.

At Erica's studio, JR and Josh tried to get Reggie to cool down. Erica came in and wanted to know what was going on. Reggie insisted he could handle things on his own. Reggie and Josh were both spared when Jack phoned with the news about Ryan, so Erica tore off. Josh advised Reggie to step up and get over Dani's mistake. Reggie left without a word.
Zach broke the news to Greens that the emergency team are now considering it a recovery mission, not a rescue one. Greenlee assured Slater that she wanted to hear the truth, so he reported that Ryan's bike had been discovered, destroyed. "Did I kill Ryan?" Greenlee asked. Simone and Kendall consoled Greenlee as she berated herself for getting pregnant despite Ryan having made it perfectly clear that he didn't want a child. Kendall beseeched Greenlee to keep the faith about Ryan turning up safely. Just then, Erica and Jack entered. Jack tried to comfort his daughter, but she ordered him not to touch her. Jack denied it when Greenlee accused him of wanting Ryan to have died. Zach pulled Kendall aside and complimented her on her pep talk to Greenlee. Kendall then admitted that she'd never stopped loving Ryan, as much of a jerk as he could be. When Zach made a move to leave, Kendall reminded him that he's family. He appreciated it but left anyway. Erica, meanwhile, tried to make Greenlee see that Jack didn't hate Ryan and that she shouldn't remain estranged from her dad. Erica reported to Greens that Jack knows about her pregnancy. Greenlee agreed to speak to Jack, but instead of warming to him, she snapped at him.
Ryan was revealed to be hiding, safe and sound, near the rocks where the rescue workers searched for his "body."
David returned home from a run and took a swig of water, but it tasted foul. He began to swoon. Minutes later, he revived and found himself tied snugly to a chair, courtesy of Tad. Tad tongue-lashed David for having tried to use a fake Dixie to manipulate JR. Tad placed tape over David's mouth in preparation for Phase Two of his revenge scheme, but Dixie's arrival interrupted his efforts. Only for a moment though, as she gleefully began to pitch in on "Operation Torture David" while Hayward sputtered in protest. Dixie used a permanent marker to draw on the doc's face; she and Tad dissolved into giggles. Dixie then swore to Tad that she had never called David from the hospital, that David was only trying to twist an already-sharp knife. Tad ripped the duct tape off David's face; Hayward then hinted that he knew something about Dixie that Tad didn't. Dixie scoffed that David's lack of credibility renders him defenseless. David laughed after Tad took off and told Dixie, "I know what I know." Dixie refused to untie David and stalked off.
Adam joined Krystal for a late-night meal at the Valley Inn. Brooke was reproving when she caught them dining together, awaiting word on whether Adam's henchmen were able to turn up evidence that Dixie's sister, Lanie, is posing as Dixie. When she called him out on his previous declaration that he was ready to change, Adam insisted to Brooke that he meant what he'd said about being a better man at the time he said it. "Go to hell," she retorted before wishing them a sarcastic good luck on whatever scheme they were cooking up and leaving. Despite themselves, Adam and Krystal found themselves enjoying one another's company. Adam's cell phone rang; his detectives reported that Lanie had not undergone plastic surgery. "Dixie is alive and well," grimaced Adam. Krystal sighed that they had no choice but to welcome Dixie home.
Mimi felt anguished for her daughter when Dani let it slip that her one-night stand with Josh was her first time. Reluctantly, Dani agreed to a sit-down chat with Mimi and Garret. Garret explained to Dani how Mimi's fling with Lucas had come about and Dani was able to feel sympathy for Mimi. Mimi clarified to Dani that she and Derek had broken up at the time of her liaison with Lucas. Dani asked why Mimi had kept the truth from her all this time. "I was ashamed," Mimi admitted. "I gotta go," sighed Dani. Mimi collapsed on the couch; Garret offered words of comfort. Mimi then asked how long Garret had known about Dani and Josh. He admitted he found out the morning after it happened. Mimi got cross, but Garret pointed out that keeping Dani's secret allowed her to trust him. She saw his point.

Reggie was in denial when Danielle revealed that she'd slept with Josh. When the news finally sunk in after Dani spelled out that she'd done it because she wanted to (not because she was drunk or coerced), poor Reggie was crushed about her infidelity and her subsequent lies. Dani tried to explain, but Reggie wasn't hearing it. Reggie ordered Dani to stop saying Josh's name and berated her for throwing their relationship out the window along with her virginity. "It was supposed to be our moment," he cried, telling her that it makes him sick to look at her. Dani was devastated when Reggie said he never wanted to see her lying face again. She collapsed in sobs after he stormed out. Dani went back to the penthouse and told Garret that Reggie dumped her. He enveloped her in a comforting hug. Mimi walked in and asked what was going in. "It's your story to tell her," said Garret gently to Dani. Dani declared to her mom that she'd had sex with a virtual stranger the night she didn't come home. "How much do you love me now?" she challenged Mimi.
Sam dropped by to see Lily. She informed him that Jack wasn't cool with them going out for a while. Sam talked Lily into letting him come in, which he argued didn't violate Jack's terms. Sam invited Lily to dance with him and put on a CD he'd burned for her. She was reluctant, but agreed to dance without touching. This led to another kissing practice session, which Lily enjoyed, but the loud music got to her and she began counting to restore her calm. Aidan showed up and, misinterpreting what had caused Lily's anxiety attack, ordered Sam to take his hands off her. Lily regained her equilibrium and told Aidan it was the music that was the problem, not Sam. She then asked Aidan to leave. Aidan then accused Sam of tricking Lily into allowing him inside. "Beat it," said Aidan to Sam. Sam left, but Lily told Aidan she didn't like him anymore and wanted him to go away.
Jack showed up at Fusion looking for Greenlee, interrupting Simone and Ethan's cuddling session. Jack exploded in anger as he demanded to know what Simone knew about Greenlee's efforts to get pregnant. "I helped Greenlee," confessed Simone. Ethan defended his date when Jack ripped into her. "Back off," warned Ethan.
Overwhelmed by memories of the past months, Ryan tore down the road on his motorcycle, with a panicked Kendall, Greenlee and Zach tailing him. Ryan drove his bike off a cliff; Greenlee screamed out in horror. Kendall called for help; Zach dove off the cliff to try to rescue Ryan. Kendall called Jack, who raced to the scene with Ethan and Simone. Kendall and Simone tried to get through to a catatonic Greenlee. Zach resurfaced and reported that it didn't look good. "Don't give up," Kendall begged Greenlee. The women convinced Greenlee to leave with them while the professionals searched for Ryan. They returned to the Lavery home, where Kendall fretted to Simone that Ryan might have deliberately driven himself off the cliff.... Zach told Jack that Ryan drove off the cliff in an attempt to protect Greenlee from his rage and anger.... Zach arrived at the penthouse and delivered the news to Kendall that it didn't look good. She collapsed crying into Zach's arms, which Greenlee witnessed. "Ryan's dead," uttered a resigned Greenlee.
Erica was impressed when Josh scored some heavy-hitting guests for her premiere episode. Josh recommended that Erica's family steer clear of the show, given the brouhaha that erupted at the launch party. Erica concurred. Greg then arrived, having been summoned by Erica. Josh left them alone to chat. Erica told Greg that Greenlee is pregnant and beseeched him not to press charges against her stepdaughter. He agreed — on the condition that she fire Josh. Erica coolly cautioned Greg that she doesn't take kindly to threats and had no intention of dismissing her star producer. Greg countered Erica (whom he called a "petite prima donna") by noting that there was an eyewitness to Greenlee's crime who could corroborate his account. He then prompted Josh to admit that he'd covered up Greenlee's crime back at the fertility clinic. Josh defied his father by denying that he saw anyone at the clinic besides Greg. Greg was disappointed in Josh's lack of ethics. After he left, Josh stated to Erica that his loyalty was with her. Later, Reggie glided into the office and laid a punch on Josh. JR interrupted Reggie's tongue-lashing of Josh to ask where Erica was.
