AMC Recaps Week of July 25, 2005Friday, July 29, 2005 Tad pleaded with the robbers to let Dixie go, but they wouldn't. So Tad took matters into his own hands and attacked one of the robbers, sending Dixie loose in the process. Meanwhile, the other gunman took aim at Tad. Thankfully Adam ruined his aim just as the gun went off. "It was a reflex. I wasn't thinking," he later quipped. The robbers fled, and as Tad was running off after them, Dixie stopped him and berated him for putting his life at risk. In the midst of the banter, Alfred noticed blood. Yup, Tad had been shot in the arm. "I left my bullet-proof cape at the cleaners." Dixie and Tad slipped back into their old banter and after Krystal witnessed it, she got her $10,000 from Adam and left, heading straight to David's. She wanted to know exactly what David knew about Dixie. Meanwhile, back at the bank, Tad refused to go to the hospital, but Dixie was insistent. "Sedate him if you have to," Dixie snapped and fabulous dialogue went back and forth. "Would you two get a room?!" Adam asked, garnering peculiar looks from both Tad and Dixie as the paramedics wheeled Tad out.
Greenlee told the search party it was time to give up. Ryan was gone and finding a body wouldn't made a difference. She assured her father that she was going to be okay, she had to be for the baby. But there was someplace she had to be right now and David and Jack let her go alone. Meanwhile, Zach had a little pow-wow with Ryan, explaining he had to commit 100 percent to faking his death. He had to forget about Greenlee, everything about her, because that is what death was. As soon as he was good and gone, Greenlee could move on. If he failed, he would wreck what was left of Greenlee's life. "I know how tough it is to disappear," Zach advised. He warned him not to call just to hear her voice and go by the house to see her. With that, Ryan left Zach's office and didn't exactly listen to Zach's advice. Later, as Greenlee grieved for her dead husband, the not-so-dead Ryan watched from behind a bush. Just when you think Greenlee has almost caught him, he ducked out of the way. For the remainder of the episode, Ryan spied on his wife finally breaking down. Once Greenlee finally left, he turned to leave as well but came face-to-face with Lily. So much for ghosts not existing!
Thursday, July 28, 2005 After Jamie furiously told Tad about Palmer's declaration that he could never work at Pine Valley Hospital, Papa Martin went straight to the hospital to give Palmer a piece of his mind. After both Tad and Amanda praised Jamie's potential, Tad had a little one-on-one with Amanda (complete with some fantastic one-liners) where he confronted her about JR hiring her to break up Jamie and Babe (Jamie told him about it). At Chandler Mansion, Babe asked Dixie if she could help her other son — Jamie. She begged Dixie to talk to JR about letting up on Jamie. Because of JR, Jamie couldn't get close to any med school regardless of the money aside. When Dixie asked why she was coming to her now, Babe responded that she (Babe) was causing the problem. And she was going to be the solution. Babe teleported herself from Chandler Mansion to the hospital to visit her best friend forever. Babe was optimistic Dixie could help, but Amanda wasn't so sure. If not, Babe would have to break up with him the blonde stated. She couldn't marry him unless she could make him happy, living the life he was supposed to live. Back at the garage, Jamie sold his car to Josh. He needed the money to make Babe's wedding to him perfect. Adam slipped a check for $10,000 under Krystal's door, and Krystal couldn't help but be curious. What in the world was the money for? Adam was certain there was a piece of the "Dixie puzzle" that was still missing. And he needed Krystal's help to get info from David. She agreed and off to the bank they went. Dixie was already at that bank, trying to reopen her account. Alfred, the bank manager, was baffled. After leaving the hospital, Tad showed up at the bank also. (Talk about a party!) Thankfully, he could assure Alfred it was indeed Dix. But before Dixie could get that account reopened, bank robbers joined the festivities. One of the masked men grabbed Dixie and pointed a gun at her. (Someone should tell them to get another hostage. Poor Dix just came back from the dead!)
Wednesday, July 27, 2005 After a lovely haircut, Dixie stopped by Tad's to go over the details of Little Adam's christening. Tad wanted to talk about something else: the second great love of her life. He didn't believe she would do prison time for a guy like Kevin. He thought there had to be more to the story. Nope, he had it wrong she insisted. Kevin wasn't a danger to her. She tried to explain that she never knew anything about Kevin's business and went to jail because she was offended by the Judge, but Tad still didn't believe her. With Kevin's bad rep, how could she think he was innocent? "I loved him..." Dix softly explained. But her feelings for Kevin stopped as soon as she saw Tad visiting Krystal that day in prison. As soon as she made this declaration, she fled. Jackson tried to convince Greenlee to eat for the baby's sake. He left her with Lily and Reggie, who offered their condolences. To lift the mood, Greenlee announced her pregnancy. "You and Ryan must have had good sex," announced Lily. (This kid likes to talk about sex a lot.) Meanwhile, in Zach's office Ryan opened the door. When he saw Erica, he immediately shut it. Too late. Erica went in to investigate. "Zach," she called as she peeked her head in. Mr. Cambias startled her and walked up behind her. Ryan hid, and Erica and Zach entered Mr. Cambias' office. She wanted all of the surveillance tapes that proved Ryan got upset with Greenlee. She wasn't going to let Zach take advantage of them. Jack entered and ordered him not to give them to her. After an argument, Zach played the tape of Ryan attacking Greenlee for Erica, Jack and Ryan (who was still hiding) to see with their own eyes. After seeing the tapes, Jack agreed the incinerator was the best place for them. Once the Montgomerys were gone, Ryan came out. After discussing the possibility of ending it all, Ryan and Zach decided against it. He'd leave tonight, as planned. Back in the VIP suite, Greenlee told her father she wanted the videos. They were disposed, Jack informed her (but kept the fact that he was the one who disposed of them from Greens) and comforted her with a hug.
Tuesday, July 26, 2005 At the hospital, Jamie accused JR of Amanda's attempted murder. Jamie was furious at his brother, but JR remained unaffected. Inside of Amanda's room, Amanda told Babe she had a confession to make before she died: She went over to JR's the night before. JR came in and finished the rest, informing Jamie and Babe they had sex before Amanda's heart problems. "I knew I was good in bed, I just didn't know I was that good!" laughed JR. Later, JR told Amanda to get out of town or he was going to expose her. Amanda was one step ahead of him; she told Jamie and Babe herself that she was being paid by JR to break them up. After Amanda's heart monitor went off again, Jamie and JR exited and Babe comforted Amanda. Leaving Amanda alone, Babe told Jamie that she could continue to stay with them and Jamie freaked. He didn't believe JR OR Amanda. Meanwhile, JR popped in on Amanda again and taunted her."Back off JR," she attacked, "or Crazy Janet from Another Planet's daughter will come after you with a crowbar!" (Guess he touched a nerve!!!) At New Beginnings, Erica was struggling with Ryan's death. Josh promised her he would hold down the fort there. She told him she was grateful for all he did and the conversation turned to Josh's father. Speak of the devil, Greg arrived at New Beginnings after leaving Greenlee. Erica thanked Greg for taking care of Greenlee and then departed, leaving Josh alone with his father. "After all these years, you still have a thing for her," he claimed and pointed out that he knew about the crush Greg used to have on Erica. Greg denied it, but his phone rang before they could further discuss it. Seemed Greg had gotten some bad news. Meanwhile, Erica headed over to the casino to find Zach. Just as she arrived at his office, Ryan figured out Zach's code and the door unlocked.
Monday, July 25, 2005 In the suite, David and Simone tried to comfort Greenlee. Overcome with grief, Greenlee attacked David. "Admit it, you're glad Ryan’s gone." David embraced a tearful Greenlee after telling her how sorry he was. "It was the right thing to do, right?" Greenlee asked about getting pregnant. David assured her this baby wasn't a mistake. Dr. Dave checked Greens out as Ryan watched his wife grieve from the video monitor in Zach's office. After David put Greenlee to bed, Kendall joined her friend and curled up next to her. "I'll miss him forever," Greenlee said softly. "He's here," Kendall promised her. Little did she know he actually was, and he was watching over them from Zach's office. Dixie confronted JR about Amanda. "Don't underestimate her," she warned. Dixie didn't want Amanda in the house ever again. Then she broke it to JR that she thought they should stay at Chandler Mansion. JR immediately wanted to know how Adam changed her mind. Little Adam liked his grandfather, she shrugged. No matter what happened, they both could agree they were happy she was back in JR's life. On the beach, Babe and Josh chatted about pick-up lines. "Let's say I did hit on you. Would it work?" Josh wondered. "No chance in hell," Babe grinned, but she did propose the perfect girl for him. Josh laughed off her suggestion of Amanda and focused on JR and Babe again. Was she positive they were meant to be? Yup, she was. Jamie gave Amanda a key to a room at Myrtle's boarding house. Amanda wasn’t so sure since Myrtle hated her mom. Plus, she was sure she'd mess it up with Myrtle the way she did with Jamie and Babe. "I don't expect you to put the moves on Myrtle," Jamie quipped. While the young Martin was loading her stuff on his bike, Amanda told herself she wasn't going to go without a fight and she swallowed a handful of her mom's pills. As soon as Jamie returned, the pills started to take effect. Jamie noticed her struggle and grabbed his doctor's bag (Shouldn't he actually be a doctor before he carries one of those things around?!). When Babe walked through the door, Jamie ordered her to start the car. They were taking Amanda to the hospital. "It's her heart," Dr. Jamie announced.
