AMC Recaps Week of Sept. 26, 2005
Friday, September 30, 2005
David explained to Babe why he had to tell JR the truth about her scheme to marry him. Babe responded by disowning her dad (again). David expressed his concern that she might genuinely fall for JR again and made it clear he wasn't going to back off. A distraught Babe reminded David that since he wouldn't tell her what he knows about Dixie, her back was against the wall. With no choice but to finally reveal the truth, David stopped Babe in her tracks by dropping a big bombshell. "She's not Dixie," he announced. "She was born Di Henry. She's Dixie's half sister."
JR told Kendall he couldn't help her not fall in love. Reluctantly, she acknowledged that Zach was the object of her (non-)affections. He urged her to ignore her feelings, but his speech tipped her off to the fact that he might be falling for Babe again. She didn't buy his denials, so he changed the subject by kissing her. Kendall nixed the smooch but gave JR another treat, restoring his ownership of Chandler Enterprises. He was deeply moved and swore to Kendall he'd always be there for her, no matter what. She patted her potentially-soon-to-expand belly.
Tad tried to get rid of Zach so that he could view "Dixie's" letter in private, but Zach refused to break down. Alfred claimed that Dixie never gave him a letter, then changed his mind and led Zach and Tad to the bank vault, where he claimed the missive was stashed. But Alfred was just having some jollies, and locked the men in the vault together. Before leaving, he assured the guys they'd be released when the bank opened in the morning. Zach ragged on Tad for letting his faith Dixie eclipse his better judgment, thus putting Julia in danger. Tad and Zach realized that Di, too, was in jeopardy.
Adam was not pleased to find Krystal in his bedroom and attempted to throw her out. She said she'd leave if he divorced her (a euphemism for handing over half of his assets). He refused and climbed into bed, so she climbed in right next to him, in a rather alluring nightgown. He turned off the light and said good night, but was clearly rattled by their proximity. Sensing this, a smile spread over Krystal's face.
Di showed up at Garret's safehouse in New York; he pulled her into a creepy embrace, but she pulled away and asked him to let her bring Julia home, as a steadily unraveling Julia attempted to listen in from the bedroom. While Julia smashed up a chair in her room, Garret warned Di to leave now or risk losing Tad and JR. Di continued to argue the case for Garret's release of Julia, but he insisted it was too great a risk for him to take. Julia, meanwhile, carved a makeshift weapon out of a bedroom chair that she smashed up. When Garret agreed to speak to let Di speak to Julia alone and opened the door, Julia lunged at them with her handmade stake. Garret grabbed the weapon out of her hands and slung his arm around Di's waist in a highly familiar fashion before letting the ladies chat one-on-one. Julia freaked out on Di and threatened to kill her, accusing her of being in cahoots with Garret. Di cautioned her to be quiet in order not to get them both killed.

Zach was stunned to learn from Kendall that she'd gone through with the implantation, but insisted he didn't have a problem with it. Kendall said she would drop him if he doesn't support her, an idea Greenlee loved. Kendall was touched when Zach made a comment about her impeccable courage and loyalty and told Greens it wasn't a good time for a divorce — for the baby's sake, she insisted. Greenlee rolled her eyes when Zach offered to rub her feet for the next nine months. After he left, Greens accused Kendall of falling for Slater. She denied it... a little too much. Greens pointed out to Kendall all the reasons she and Zach would never work as a real couple.
Erica showed up to receive the Pine Valley Chamber of Commerce's Treasured Citizen Award and excused herself from a gushing Alfred to chat up Greg, demanding to know what's going on with Greenlee and Kendall. Greg reminded Erica that he can't disclose to her why Kendall and Greenlee have been in his office — and that he wouldn't succumb to her threats. Alfred pulled her away to receive her award. Afterwards, Erica thanked Opal, Palmer and Myrtle for being her support system at the ceremony, then headed to Greg's side to grill him some more. "Will there be another baby?" Erica asked, claiming she wanted to help prepare Jack for whatever was going on. "And what is Kendall's involvement in all this?" When he agreed to help her, Erica threw her arms around him, but he burst her bubble, clarifying that he was going to help with Jack, not with giving her access to confidential information. Palmer interrupted them to warn Erica that Zach had just arrived. He stalked over to Erica and told her that he hears congratulations are in order. "For what, exactly?" she replied. Her award, of course, he insisted. He then turned on his heel and left (after kissing Myrtle's hand).
Krystal and Babe rushed to cover their tracks when David declared to JR that Babe intended to worm her way back into JR's heart. David claimed he could back up his allegations and explained that it was Jamie who'd tipped him off to Babe's scheme. Krystal dragged David off for a talk in the hallway; Adam followed, and was so tickled by the fight that ensued as Krystal tore into Hayward that he ran off to grab his video camera. Adam ended up knocking David out with the equipment.. JR asked Babe point-blank if she was playing him. Babe suggested that JR was terrified she might actually have it in her to win back his affections and added that the "new Jamie" was probably just having a go at him. JR didn't buy it, so Babe "admitted" that in the wake of Little Adam's near-drowning, she'd made a remark to David about how odd it would be if the baby's crisis ended up bringing her and JR together. On the terrace, a confused JR thought over what Babe had said. Kendall showed up, putting his reverie on pause, and issued a frantic request: "Stop me from falling in love!"... Out in the hallway, Babe saw David on the ground (but breathing) and told Adam she wished he'd finished the job. Krystal then departed to take an inventory of the wine cellar. David then came to.
On the Chandler terrace, Di assured Tad that everything he needed to know about the Dragon was in the letter she wrote and he should go fetch it. He preferred her simply naming the name he needed to know and grew upset with her tight-lipped response. Finally, she confessed that the contents of the letter also affect her future with Tad, so she doesn't want to be there when he finds it all out. Tad freaked when Di revealed that she had gone to see the Dragon and swore to him that she wouldn't rat him out. Tad begged her to break her promise and told her he wanted to be with her. Di replied that she'd told a lot of lies since arriving in Pine Valley, that she truly loved him, and that if she told the truth, it could be over between them. Tad said he didn't expect her to be perfect. Di excused herself, but not before telling Tad where he could find the letter: It's with Alfred. He kissed her, then departed.
Garret trained his gun on Julia, who was struggling to absorb the shock of being face-to-face with the man who killed her husband. Garret handed the weapon back to her; she checked and saw it was bullet-free. He then divulged to Julia that he always knew where Noah and Julia were, and wouldn't have gunned down Noah had he remained in Witness Protection. He also told Julia that he wanted to get to know her better. She told him he was demented if he thought he could seduce her and ran into the bedroom, slamming the door behind her and collapsing in sobs. Garret didn't seem that rattled.
Tad approached Alfred and demanded "Dixie's" letter. Alfred sighed that everyone was interested in the letter. Who else wanted it, Tad wanted to know. Alfred gestured in Zach's direction.

At the police station, Di refused to pony up the identity of the Dragon despite Mimi's tough line of questioning. Meanwhile, Kendall and Greenlee stormed into the station, with Kendall demanding to know why her husband (who's in a cell with Tad) is being detained. Derek explained that he stood accused of murder. "Get rid of Zach for good," grumbled Greens. Zach commanded Kendall to go home, but Derek insisted that she stay and reveal what she knows about Jimmy's death. Dixie was brought in to join them, at which point Kendall confirmed that she was present when Jimmy died and that Zach had killed him in self-defense. Finally, Derek had no choice but to let the whole group leave, but he ordered another cop to put a tail on them.
A furious David came to the Chandler mansion to accuse JR of trying to seduce Babe, which JR denied. Upstairs, Babe nearly lost her lunch when she realized Krystal had consummated her marriage to Adam. But Babe started to feel better when it dawned on her how she could use Krystal and Adam's nups to her advantage with JR. The ladies cut their conversation short when they heard bellowing from downstairs — it was David arguing with the Chandler fellas. Krystal and Babe joined them and Krystal broke the news to David about her wedding. Tad and Dixie arrived, so Krystal filled them in, too. Tad pulled Krystal aside for a private chat, but he was unable to talk her out of sticking with the union. David issued a veiled threat to Di, who Tad then grabbed for a tete-a-tete. Before exiting, David warned Babe to drop her plan to marry JR, but she made it perfectly clear that she wanted him to mind his own business. JR and Babe tried to kick him out, so David announced to JR that Babe wanted to marry him again. On the terrace, Di told Tad that she was prepared to give him the letter.
Garret showed Julia around his New York safehouse, which was filled with privacy-guaranteeing measures, and grilled her about what she planned to do once she tracked down the Dragon. When she spilled something on his shirt and he took it off, Julia recoiled in horror, as a tattoo of a dragon was emblazoned across Garret's back. She tried to remain calm in front of Garret as she absorbed the fact that her "savior" was actually the sinister criminal who wanted her dead. When Garret went to take a shower, she grabbed her purse and tried to pull out her gun. Alas, it was gone: Garret had it, and pointed it right at her.
At Kendall's condo, Kendall got rid of Greenlee long enough to have a one-on-one talk with Zach. She admitted to her hubby that she cares about what happens to him; he didn't buy it when she claimed her caring was strictly in the interests of business. She then informed Zach that she had already gone through with the "get implanted with Greenlee's eggs" plan.

Babe showed up at the Chandlers' looking for Adam. She reported to JR that Krystal told her to come over to the mansion and that it had something to do with Adam. Krystal arrived and beamed as she entreated JR to give his new stepmom a hug. "Dad!" hollered JR. Adam told JR there was a good explanation... he just didn't know what it was yet. Krystal said she was happy to get a divorce, so long as she gets what's coming to her. JR and Adam recoiled when Krystal stated her terms: half of everything. Babe pulled Krystal upstairs to discuss the situation, at which point Krystal confided to Babe that she'd set Adam up to wed her — she wasn't actually drunk at the time, and the gents in Crow Hollow had aided her scheme.... Adam was humiliated to have to admit to JR that the bar cameras caught him begging Krystal to marry him — and that the marriage was already consummated.
Julia drove along with Garret, unaware that he's the Dragon. When she became aware that he wasn't driving toward Philly, she demanded that he let her out, fingering her gun. Garret then revealed that he knows Noah. Julia realized that Garret is the man Noah used to call Styles. Garret claimed that he couldn't save Noah, but wanted to help save her, and Julia decided to place her trust in him. (Good move!) They headed off to New York.
Tad came down hard on Di at the police station, beseeching her to identify the Dragon before Julia is harmed. "Be a good girl, Dixie," smirked an arriving Zach, who also wanted Di to 'fess up. Zach was livid when he found out that Julia was now with the Feds. Zach, Tad and Di then learned from Mimi that Julia had slipped away from federal custody. Zach insisted to Mimi that she grill Di for info on Kevin; Di insisted that she was Kevin's girlfriend, not his secretary. Tad turned the tables on Zach by blabbing to Mimi about the fresh body over at Wildwind. While the men squabbled, Di slipped away to call Garret from a pay phone. After their tense chat, she and Tad watched Mimi toss Zach in the slammer on account of that corpse at Wildwind. But Tad's smile faded when Mimi informed him that he too was cell-bound, charged with obstructing justice.
Amanda stormed into B.J.'s and lashed out at Josh, who was dining with Danielle. Josh told Amanda that Jamie is nowhere near over Babe, which pushed her buttons.
David and Jamie traded insults at the hospital, with David dropping hints about how he has information that will explode JR and Tad's lives. Jamie swore he was over Babe, but encouraged David to protect his daughter from JR. David didn't buy it when Jamie explained that Babe was scheming to remarry her ex, but Jamie was adamant, giving David pause.

At the police station, Derek implored Julia to reveal what she knows about Noah's killer in order to stop the body count. Julia was determinedly silent, even after Tad made an attempt of his own to get her to cooperate with the cops. Derek reported to Tad that the Feds are not happy with Julia's behavior. Julia, meanwhile, was becoming slightly unhinged alone in her cell. The Feds showed up to transport Julia out of Pine Valley.... In the corridor, Di begged Garret not to do in Julia. Garret warned Di that with one wrong move, he could shred the life she's come to love (as Dixie). Di replied that she was thinking about giving up her new life to save Julia's. Tad came upon them and Di and Garret covered the reason for their intense confab. Garret excused himself, at which point Tad again pressed Dixie to come to Julia's aid. Di said she was now willing to pony up the name and offered Kevin's. Tad told her that Kevin was dead... In the van transporting her to federal prison, Julia feigned a panic attack as a means of making her escape. Once free, she thumbed down a driver for a ride, saying she was headed for Philly. The driver was happy to give her a lift. Just one problem: The driver was Garret.
At NEW BEGINNINGS's production office, Josh told Dani that his research on Garret had failed to turn up anything suspect, much less incriminating. Josh posted a request on the show's Web site for young women who've been seduced by powerful older men to share their stories. Dani assured Josh that he's not responsible for what's gone down with Garret. Derek came by to speak with Dani, assuring her that he was on her side and intended to build a rock-solid case against Garret. The chief also thanked Josh for protecting Dani.
Erica showed up at Greg's office to try to figure out what's going on between him and Greenlee. He didn't fall for her show of charm, stonewalling her questions. He shared with Erica that he and his wife conceived their child against all odds. The two agreed it's challenging to stay out of their adult childrens' lives. Erica volunteered to plead Greg's case to Josh; Greg was appreciative. In return, Erica wanted to know what Kendall's wallet was doing at the clinic. Greg reported that Kendall had accompanied Greenlee to a recent appointment. Before exiting, Erica vowed to make sure that Greg's social calendar goes from zero to 60.... A pensive Greg flashed back to telling his wife, Emily, that he would find a way to give her a child.
Greenlee reeled from the news that Kendall went ahead with the implantation procedure without her knowledge, berating herself for trusting Kendall. Kendall apologized for doing the implantation alone. Greens finally admitted that she's jealous of Kendall's ability to carry Ryan's baby. Kendall assured Greenlee that the baby would be Greens's through and through; it was just going to hang out in her womb for a while. With that out of the way, Greenlee began pampering Kendall, which confused an arriving Erica, who was there to return Kendall's wallet. After La Kane left, Kendall and Greenlee agreed not to tell Erica about the pregnancy until they know for sure that Kendall is with child. But Erica's suspicions were clearly mounting.
