AMC Recaps Week of Oct. 31, 2005

The theme of today's episode was crazy drivers behind the wheel. After Greenlee sped off from Ryan's hotel, Kendall let it slip that she knew Jonathan was alive, which infuriated Greens. "Who's side are you on?" Greenlee asked, when Kendall kept persisting that she give Ryan another chance. Kendall said, "The baby's." The gal pals ended up at the Roadside bar, which was empty (thanks to Babe taking off after JR), so Kendall made Greenlee a drink. But the bar wasn't as empty as it looked. Upstairs, a mystery person turned a space heater on and tipped it over. A fire quickly started, and by the end of the episode the girls were both upstairs and shocked.

Ryan and Erin freaked when Jonathan took off in Erin's rental car. Ryan promised Erin he'd find their brother and went after Jonathan. Ryan went straight to Greenlee's, but instead of finding Jonathan or his wife, Jack found him. Jack let out some pent-up aggression and knocked Ryan out. (Between JR and Jack, Ryan isn't having much luck lately!) Meanwhile, back at the motel, Livia arrived and informed Erin she wanted to see Jonathan. One problem: Jonathan was still missing. Without letting Livia know Jonathan was on the lam, Erin promised they'd see her tomorrow. Erin then called upon a detective to help find Jonathan: Aidan. (Hmm, she picked the wrong detective from the yellow pages because her brother murdered this one's friend!)

Di wanted Tad to prove to her and himself that he didn't have feelings for her. While he tried to get it through her head he thought she was horrible, she forced her lips on his for a kiss. "There was something there. You can't deny it," she said after they parted. When she brought up Dixie again, he said, "If you don't leave now, I'm going to throw you out of that window." She left, but made sure he knew she wasn't leaving town. She wasn't going to let him erase her.

JR drank, and drank and drank as Babe told him he couldn't take Little Adam away from her. A belligerent JR was obviously in a ton of pain as he brought up Dixie and Di. When JR walked out of the bar, Babe ran after him. JR sped off with Babe in the car, driving down the road drunk. Babe tried her best to get JR to pull the car over, pointing out that if they died, Little A would be an orphan. JR didn't slow down, though, and hit a Pine Valley resident: Amanda.

Di breathed a sigh of relief when JR said he wasn't going to press charges. But when she went to hug her former "son" JR backed away. "Get your stinking hands off of me," he spat, quickly informing her that he wasn't about to forgive her; a trial just wasn't worth his effort. When Tad tried to talk to his stepson, JR attacked him, then Palmer and finally Di. "You're worthless," he said to her before leaving. Once alone with Tad, Di tempted him to take his best shot at her. He wanted her out of town. Later, he arrived back to his home to find Ms. Henry waiting on him. She'd leave Pine Valley on one condition: He had to make love to her.

Jonathan and Erin arrived in Pine Valley and Jonathan immediately wanted to see Greenlee. Ryan got his mind off of that by trying to explain to his little brother that he would be meeting with a lawyer and more doctors soon in hopes of staying out of jail. Meanwhile, Greenlee informed Simone and Kendall that she wasn't going to tell Ryan about the baby. When Kendall asked Greenlee to look into her eyes and see if she could tell her that she wasn't still in love with Ryan, Greenlee tried to change the subject. Kendall finally convinced Greenlee to go see Ryan, but they arrived at his motel room to a surprise: Jonathan. The gals freaked and Ryan had to get everyone to calm down. "I am very sorry," Jonathan finally got to say. Sorry didn't cut it for Greens and she fled before talking to Ryan. Kendall yelled at Jonathan and went after her friend. When Erin and Ryan walked out to see where Kendall and Greenlee went, Jonathan escaped.

Elsewhere in Pine Valley, Ethan followed Zach back to Zach's office where the father and son discussed what Ethan overheard. Yes, he did regret the past, but Zach said he couldn't change it. Later, Ethan told Simone that he cut his father loose for good. And while shooting hoops, Aidan and Jamie lamented about Amanda.

It was tool time at the Roadside bar when Babe and Amanda decided to go after each other with a hammer and power saw. (Sadly, you read that correctly.) When Babe called Amanda insane, Janet from another Planet's daughter flipped. She turned on her power tool and declared that she could see just how much like her mother she really was. The next scene the girls headed downstairs for a full-fledged bar fight (sans the tools), but JR intervened before anyone could get seriously hurt. Babe appreciated his help and former Mr. and Mrs. Chandler discussed Little Adam while JR drank. Babe wasn't thankful for long, though, because JR dropped a bombshell: He was taking their son and moving to Europe.

After Julia watched Derek cart Di off in handcuffs, she laid into Tad for allowing them to arrest Di. Meanwhile, at the PVPD, Di told David that she was going to plead guilty. “Don’t let guilt make you stupid,” advised David and accused her of wanting to hide in prison. Tad joined in on the visit and then Palmer, Derek and Del as well. Derek told the group that charges couldn’t go forward unless the Chandlers pressed charges. At the Roadside bar, JR asked Babe for a drink and she refused him. Then she scolded him. She was worried about how his drinking would affect Little Adam. JR was called away though and headed to the police station, to make a decision about Di's fate.

Jamie blasted Amanda for trying to drug and marry him. She tried to talk her way out of it, but he didn’t want to hear anything she had to say. He wanted nothing more to do with her, in fact. When Janet called, he answered and informed Amanda’s mom that he and Amanda were not getting married and they weren't even dating anymore. Amanda was devastated, and by the end of the episode, she was at the bar ready to take on Babe.

JR and Ryan broke up Julia and Kendall’s chick fight. JR reminded Kendall about her “condition,” and of course Ryan wondered what condition that was. Once alone with Ryan, she told him she was just stressed and told him about her request for a divorce. Ryan matched her declaration and informed Kendall that Greenlee was filing for divorce as well. Kendall asked him to give Greenlee a chance and not to leave town. "I'll give Greenlee as many chances as she wants," assured Ryan.

Over at Fusion, Zach and Greenlee had a little heart to heart. Zach advised Greenlee not to divorce Ryan without him ever knowing about the baby. He used himself and the situation with Ethan as an example, stating that things would have been different if he had known. What they didn’t know was that Simone and Ethan were behind them and heard everything. He agreed with his father, every child needs to know his dad. When Kendall walked in, she wondered if Zach and Ethan were able to get through to Greenlee. "Let's go tell Ryan he's having a baby right now." Um, unfortunately, Ryan already had visitors: Jonathan and Erin.

Kendall went to her hubby's office and gave Zach a ticket to Haiti so he could get a divorce. "You can kiss your ticket and your divorce goodbye," he replied. He said he had promised to see her through this pregnancy and protect her, and he intended to do just that. At that moment, JR walked in and pulled Kendall into a lip-lock. Zach was his usual snarky self, and Kendall demanded to know why he wasn't going to give her a divorce. When she said she could get the divorce on her own, he said she wouldn't. "I hate you," she spat and walked out, JR following behind her.

At the Roadside bar, Julia joined Ryan. She was there to drink to an anniversary. Nine years ago she witness the shooting that ruined her life. "I would do anything for my life to be exactly like it was then," she sighed. Ryan went on to tell Julia his latest misdeed. She couldn't stand what he did, but she could relate to him; they both felt dead and were trying to reclaim their lives. She stormed off, but he went after her. He tried to comfort her and it ended in a half-hug. After the heated confrontation with Zach, JR and Kendall headed to the Roadside bar. But when Kendall spotted Julia with Ryan, the feisty gal jumped to her feet and within seconds, Julia was on the floor.

Di was less than pleased when David showed up at Wildwind. When she questioned why he was there, he replied: "I care about you, dammit." He didn't want to lose the closest thing to Dixie he could ever have. She was apprehensive, but he pledged to do whatever it took to keep her safe and in his life. Their conversation didn't get much further because Del arrived with a book deal and then Palmer showed up with Derek in tow, who was ready to arrest Di.

While shooting a segment of New Beginnings with Erica at the mall, Josh spotted Babe. She was there to find out more about the guy Amanda bought something from. When Babe pointed the guy out, Josh told her Amanda bought drugs. Josh went "undercover" and got the info out of the guy himself. Erica wasn't happy when she spotted Babe with Josh. With one call to the Governor for Erica, by the end of the episode, it seemed that Josh's loyalties to Erica might be questionable.

After leaving the mall, Babe showed up at Jamie's place, right as he and Amanda were getting ready to leave for their beach trip. Unfortunately for Amanda, Babe had other plans. With a smile on her face, she managed reveal to Jamie that Amanda was planning a wedding (a scheming bridezilla should never openly pack her veil in her suitcase). And Babe didn't stop there: She had a drug dog who instantly attacked Amanda, revealing the pills Amanda had hidden in her — where else — cleavage.

Josh showed up at the Roadside bar and immediately started flirting with Babe. When she went on and on about how worried she was about Jamie, Josh told her she should concentrate on herself. He blindfolded her with his Halloween mask and took her upstairs where he scolded her for never having any fun. Then he admitted he liked her, romanced her and sealed it with a kiss. “I’m not ready for anything like this,” Babe said as she pulled away. “You’re one of a kind and there is no way I’m letting you slip away,” Josh replied.

Amanda, dressed in a wedding veil and skimpy wedding gown (what more did you expect from Amanda?), was surprised when Jamie came home early. She quickly stripped and hid the veil and gown so that when Jamie walked through the door she was wearing only shoes. When Jamie started studying, Amanda decided to play doctor herself. Her diagnosis was that he needed sex, which she, of course, gave him.

Kendall spied Julia and Zach kissing, but fled before she could see Zach pull away and say, 'Don't.' She wanted him to give her life back. She wanted him. But when Julia insulted Kendall, Zach practically kicked her out. JR, who was without his shirt the entire episode, was drinking a bottle of liquor alone in his dark room when Kendall barged in. She informed JR of Zach and Julia and then made a declaration: “I love my husband,” she sighed. He pulled her to him and kissed her. When he wanted to have sex with her, she said no, “especially now with the baby.” She went on to explain her current situation. At the end of the episode, Kendall had an epiphany. “I know how to save myself,” she claimed.

Greenlee was shocked to find out Jonathan was alive. She immediately thought Ryan faked his brother’s death as well. “You bastard!” she yelled. While Ryan tried to explain Jonathan’s tumor and surgery, Jack came to the door delivering Greenlee her divorce papers. Now it was Ryan’s turn to be shocked. “This is killing me, but I won’t stop you,” he said. Tears swept down Greenlee's cheeks as Ryan walked out the door and she went to sign the papers.
