AMC Recaps Week of Dec. 5, 2005

Friday, December 9, 2005
Josh introduced Erica to his new assistant: Amanda. Erica immediately fired Amanda for making her miss an appointment with the head of ABC Daytime by sending her to the wrong location. Erica backed off after realizing who Amanda is and Josh backed up her claim that the mistake had not been on her end... Janet excitedly watched Amanda's favorite TV show and generally showed herself to have fallen off the deep end... Josh convinced Amanda that her head injury made her slip up with Erica's scheduling, even though he actually set Amanda up to fail.... Jamie saw Amanda at the hospital, where she was doing research on her symptoms. Jamie insisted to Amanda that he does care about her, so she told him about her slip-up at work. He offered to check with neurology on her behalf.

At the ice-skating rink, Zach tried to get Ryan to back off of Jonathan, which Slater said he'd do as soon as Jon stopped being a threat to Kendall. After Zach left, Jon told Erin and Ryan about a shameful incident in which he forgot what a key is used for and explained that he didn't want Lily to know. They promised to remain silent. Erin came down hard on Ryan for having accused Jonathan of harming Kendall.

Julia apologized to Kendall for knocking the drink out of her hands, but explained that she was concerned about the baby. Kendall accused Julia of going after Ryan, which she denied. Julia told Kendall about her abortion; Kendall said she got the shopping gene in lieu of a maternal one. Zach then arrived and wasn't pleased to see that Kendall was distressed. He asked his wife to talk to him for a minute. When Julia left, Kendall proferred the signed divorce papers. "Say the word and I'll make it all go away," said Zach as Erica left a supportive message on her daughter's voicemail. Josh overheard and praised Erica for her strength. He also volunteered to dig up more dirt on Greg for Erica. La Kane left after thanking him. Josh then made another move to sabotage Erica.... Zach orderd two tickets to "the Islands," one for himself and one for Kendall. She agreed to accompany him on their trip to get a divorce.

David stormed into the Chandler manse, concerned about Babe's plan to wed and ditch JR. Krystal told David they had more immediate problems: Amanda. David was enraged by Krystal's report that Amanda was responsible for pushing Babe down the stairs and headed to the hospital, where he grilled Amanda about how she pulled off her attacks on the Chandlers and Babe. "I have a beaker with your name on it, darlin'," he declared. Amanda adamantly denied responsibility for Babe's accident. Jamie walked in and heard David's threats against Amanda, so he assured her that everything would be fine and told David he had the Amanda situation under control. Later, Ryan arrived and Amanda looked on as he asked Jamie where David was. Where he was, in fact, was unconscious and strapped to a gurney, about to get wheeled in for a double-bypass he didn't need...

JR pulled Babe into a passionate embrace, assuring her there were no more games, no more tests. Babe pulled away from hitting the sheets with JR until he clarified his feelings for her. He didn't want them to talk things to death; he wanted them to act. Another steamy kiss followed, but when they got horizontal, she cried, "I can't do this!" She explained that she couldn't risk sleeping with him knowing that his feelings for her might evaporate by tomorrow. "I can't love you and lose you all over again," she sighed. JR reluctantly got dressed and told Babe that they had nothing before exiting. JR paused outside his motel room and glanced back at Babe's room.

Krystal ripped off Adam's pajama top and ordered him to: "Quit talking and do me already." She straddled him and began to unbutton her top, but he squirmed away and said he had to make a business call. She asked if he was lying when he said he was attracted to her, but Chandler said he still found her attractive. She retorted that their "rolls in the hay" were hard to forget and she doesn't hate him "with as much gusto as I did." Chandler said she must be lying. Then they looked into each other's eyes all sizzling-like. "You'd be thrilled if I walked first-face into a careening bus," Adam insisted. She went on about how hard it is to be so near his "hot bod." It worked and he grabbed her and they started smooching. Once in bed, Krystal turned cold; She ordered him to get his hand off her backside, and taunted him about what it feels like to be duped. She gleefully added that she knew about the Chandler Enterprises merger and wasn't going to keep her hand out of that pot of gold.

Ryan showed up at Wildwind to question Julia about the attack on Jonathan. Lavery begged her to admit it was Zach who hit his brother. Saying she knew about vengeance, Julia urged him not to go after Zach. Ryan explained that he had to fight back since Jonathan can't. Julia reasoned that retaliation isn't the way to make people forget Jon's crimes. Ryan agreed and said they had to leave town. Julia asked how he could consider leaving Pine Valley with a baby on the way, and offered to help him with Jonathan. She said she could talk to Zach about relenting. Ryan agreed to stick around and thanked her.

A shaky Jonathan and Erin prepared to go ice skating. When Erin stepped away, a hockey-stick wielding Sam came over with his friends and menaced the man who killed his dad. Erin returned and ordered the boys to leave her brother alone. Aidan came along and backed up Erin, convinced the boys to leave and confiscated their six-pack, to boot. A none-too-grateful Erin laid into Aidan for following them. After Aidan left, Jonathan observed that he's nice. Aidan wasn't so sure about that. Ryan joined his sibs at the pond. "Now we can be happy," said Jonathan. Ryan asked if he missed anything, but Erin remained mum about the earlier confrontation.

At the Fusion holiday party, Kendall and Babe continued to face-off over the news that Greenlee had signed over her stock to Babe. A smug JR produced a letter from Greenlee in which she gloated that Babe would run the company into the ground and the decision is ironclad. Greens wrote: "I figured one lowlife baby-stealing bitch deserves another." After warning Kendall that she was not going to back down, Babe turned on her heel and walked off. JR stayed behind for a few moments to insult Kendall some more about being pregnant, unloved and alone. Later, Julia arrived at Kendall's office and caught her with a cocktail, which she knocked out of her hand.

Simone griped to Ethan about her role in the company and he surprised her with a gift: official partnership in Fusion with the same share as Kendall and Babe. He swept her up and they kissed passionately.... JR followed Babe to her room. After an emotional confrontation, he admitted that he cares about her a lot more than she thinks and they kissed.

JR sought advice from Kendall about his confused feelings for Babe, but she was a little distracted by her pregnancy predicament. "Wow," sighed JR after Kendall recapped how she came to be carrying her own child instead of Greenlee's. Kendall then ordered JR not to love Babe again. When JR suggested that Kendall raise her baby, she took great offense. After upbraiding JR for being taken for a fool by Di and Babe, Kendall threw him out.

Babe and Krystal perused catalogues for Little Adam's Christmas gift. Babe then proffered a bridal magazine and grinned that she could hear the strains of "Hear Comes The Bride." She filled in Krystal about passing JR's Del set-up. Krystal left; Livia entered. Babe was stunned when Livia showed her legal documents that required her signature, but she put pen to binding paper. JR arrived and Babe excitedly showed him the documents. He was floored.

Adam conferred with his lawyer to draw up divorce papers, assuring the attorney that he'd successfully scare Krystal into signing the documents by pretending to have fallen in love with her. When Krystal returned home, Adam reported that they'd made a financial killing overnight in the stock market to the tune of $160,000. She told Adam she was on to him — that he was trying to get him to divorce her for that measly amount. He dismissed the accusation, claiming simply to be turned on by the thrill of money-making. Adam then pulled Krystal into a steamy kiss, which she, um, responded to. He broke away, saying that it "means too much" to him. He then "admitted" that he wanted their marriage to be a real one. "I love you!" he told her. "Take me now!" she cried.

Brooke and Julia discussed Sam's drunkenness and general decline, and the ladies confronted the teen, who didn't see what the huge problem was. Julia insisted that she and Sam talk about Sam's hatred of Jonathan. Sam said he wanted to kill the bastard who did in his father. Julia tried to talk him out of it, but he told Julia and Brooke that they couldn't stop him. Julia then said she thought it was time they send Sam to stay with Maria in California. Sam stormed off.

A loopy-acting Amanda crashed Jamie's study session; he pulled her aside and asked her what was up with her bizarre behavior. He was alarmed by Amanda's claims that he was obsessed with her and accused her of poisoning the Chandlers' soup. She then made it clear that she'd been faking her little spell of nuttiness. "I'm not crazy, just really ticked off," she declared.

Janet lovingly paged through her Amanda scrapbook, then completed work on one of Jamie.

Simone and Ethan talked business at the Fusion office, which was hustling and bustling as it prepared for a party celebrating its latest product launch. Kendall arrived to kick off the bash and gave a pep talk to Simone and Danielle about the company. She assured the gals and Ethan that she was just fine, despite the blow-up with Greenlee. Babe and JR then sauntered in together. "Oh, crud," sighed Kendall. She suggested they leave before she threw them out, but Babe said they weren't going anywhere. As Ethan and Simone looked on, Babe announced that Greenlee gave her all of her shares of Fusion. "Smile, Kendall," Babe crowed. "I'm your new partner."

At the boathouse, JR eavesdropped as Del told Babe he could give her some damaging info to use against JR. JR grinned when it looked like Babe was taking the bait. After leaving, Babe sent a text message to JR, asking him to meet her. When they got together, Babe warned JR that thanks to Del, she knows about the offshore accounts and he might need to get rid of Del to protect himself. He questioned her motives for assisting him; she shrugged that things have changed. "I really do want you to be happy," she insisted. A confused JR bolted. "Gotcha," Babe grinned to herself.

At the hospital, Tad pumped Joe for dirt on Greg but didn't make much progress.... Greg wouldn't hire Di as his new receptionist when she mentioned Tad as a reference, so she lied that she didn't actually know Martin and eventually talked Greg into giving her the job.... Di went over to Tad's and told him she landed the position. After deciding that she deserved the truth, Tad explained to Di that although Erica hired him to investigate Greg, the matter was now personal, as he found a dossier on the entire Martin clan among Greg's possessions. "That's freaky!" gasped Di. Tad became pensive when Di placed a blanket of Dixie's on her lap.

Amanda ambushed Josh at the NEW BEGINNINGS studio and told him she'd had another blackout. The wheels were turning in Josh's mind as he told Amanda that he wanted to help her by offering her a job at the studio as a receptionist. He then charged her with setting up an important meeting between Erica and a TV network exec.

Kendall was not pleased to see Ryan at the Fusion offices and asked him if he was involved in her little rooftop adventure. Ryan was horrified when she filled him in on the hammock situation but was certain that neither Greenlee nor Jonathan was to blame. He thought Zach was the culprit; Ethan thought that was far-fetched. After Ramsey left, Ryan asked Kendall what they were going to do about the fact that she's carrying their baby. "I don't even know if I want this child," she said, explaining that she didn't feel prepared for motherhood. Ryan told Kendall that the decision about whether to terminate the pregnancy was hers to make.

Zach pummeled Jonathan, who he believed was responsible for putting Kendall in the hammock. Julia (and reluctantly, Aidan) pulled Zach away. When Lily showed up and started freaking out, Zach tried to calm her down by apologizing. Jon assured Lily that everything was okay now. Jon then got a call from Ryan on his cell phone, but kept quiet about Zach's beating so as not to incite Ryan.... Aidan and Zach agreed to keep a very, very watchful eye on Jon.... Lily helped Jon with his life skills assignment.

Jonthan encountered Lily at the boathouse and opened up to her about his struggle to readjust to Pine Valley and life post-surgery. He admitted that he thought he did something very bad that day, having lost his temper with Kendall. Lily invited Jon to join her life skills class, but when they arrived at the hospital, she discovered her class had a new teacher: Julia, who'd just been hired by Joe. Julia told Jon that he was welcome to stay.

Del stopped by Babe's room at the Pine Cone and invited her to go bowling. JR burst in and ordered Del to stay away from Babe. After Del left, JR noticed that Babe was all packed up to move into the mansion and sighed that Amanda isn't the only danger she's facing: He, too, poses a risk to her. JR explained that he can't trust himself where she's concerned, that he feels uncomfortable and weird about her renewed feelings for him. "I don't want to break your heart," he said, after admitting that he wanted her — but didn't love her. JR left and sauntered over to Del, informing him that Babe was "ripe for the plucking." After warning JR not to dis Di, Del knocked on Babe's door and offered his friendship. She said she wanted to be alone, but told him to wait when he turned to go. They ended up at the boathouse, where Del offered his shoulder for Babe to cry on — and to dish up some dirt for her to use against JR. JR listened in to see if Babe would take the bait....

At the Pine Cone, Ryan accused Zach of not caring about Kendall or the child she's carrying and warned Slater that if he doesn't back off Jonathan, Ryan will make him pay. Erica barged in and told Zach to keep his distance from Kendall and the baby. Ryan and La Kane then settled in for a private chat about the Kendall/baby predicament, with Erica urging Ryan and Kendall to lean on one another during this difficult time.

A panicked Kendall woke up in a hammock suspended above the rooftop of Fusion. She screamed for help, but the office was empty. With the rope fraying, Kendall prayed for someone to find her. Just then, Zach arrived at Fusion and left some papers on Kendall's desk. He was about to leave when the rope gave way a little more and Kendall shrieked. "Keep quiet and don't move," she suddenly heard Zach say. Zach caught Kendall when she fell and carried her safely back inside. She insisted that fate brought him to her rescue and admitted that she'd her a confrontation earlier in the day with Jonathan. Zach bolted as Ethan arrived, leaving the ex-lovers alone for a rare one-on-one chat. Kendall was crushed when she saw what Zach had left behind for her: divorce papers. Ethan sighed that he couldn't offer Kendall insight into his father's actions. Kendall was then surprised by Ryan's arrival. Zach, meanwhile, crashed the life skills class and dragged Jon off to the garage, in a rage over Jon's attack on Kendall...
