Dixie watched, unseen, as JR brandished a gun on Krystal. Krystal tried to talk some sense into an increasingly unstable JR. Dixie fled before Tad burst in. Tad told JR that Janet is the one who took Little Adam and Babe, too, but JR still wouldn't put down the gun, noting that Tad lacks credibility. Adam was the next to arrive. When he saw the scene before him, he bellowed, "Have you lost your mind, boy?" Adam freed Krystal from the ropes JR had tied her up with. After much pleading, the adults were still unable to convince JR that he'd pinned the blame for Little Adam's disappearance on the wrong person. Dixie returned to the cabin and listened in on the action, but didn't enter. When JR fired the gun at Krystal, she was uninjured — but the bullet did strike Dixie.

To save her hide (and her son's hide), Babe tried to sell Janet on the idea of Babe becoming Janet's daughter, but Janet wasn't buying it. Babe sweetened the offer by vowing that she would never send Janet to the mental hospital. She entreated Janet to text JR an offer: Krystal in exchange for Little Adam. Janet was moved by Babe's loyalty to her mom and thanked Babe for giving her a new family, then proposed a different plan: they go on the run without giving up Little A. Babe tried to fake joy at what was essentially Krystal's death sentence. Janet then decided to take Little A. back to JR and insisted that Babe stay behind, locked in the cabin. Janet gave Babe permission to get some food from the freezer. When she opened the freezer, Babe was greeted with a gruesome sight: Trevor's dead body.

Livia brought food over to the Kane/Montgomery mansion. Lily told Livia that she planned to divorce her father and needed an attorney, but Livia told Lily she didn't have grounds for such a move. Livia explained to Lily her belief that Lily is too young to be with Jonathan. Lily wouldn't answer Livia when she asked if Lily was thinking about marrying Jon.

From his hospital bed, Jack warned his unwelcome visitor (Jonathan) that he would kill him rather than let him near Lily. Jon helped himself to a seat and tried to convince Jack that he'd changed; Jack surreptitiously beckoned for help. Julia rushed in and ordered Jon to leave as Jack used the little strength he had to demand that Jon stay away from Lily. In the hallway, Julia (who passed her boards and was now on the nursing staff) was floored when Jon revealed his relationship with Lily. Julia tried to help Jon understand Jack's point of view; he asked her to help him prove to people that he'd changed.

At Zach's condo, Kendall blasted Slater for not attending Ethan's funeral. Zach invited Kendall to attack him physically. She didn't. Zach then told Kendall that he'd never been happier than he was with her. "Thank you," she uttered. After telling Zach she wanted him to get out of town, Kendall stomped out. A highly agitated Kendall then raced to Ryan's office, but wouldn't accept his comfort. Ultimately, she allowed him to put his arms around her as she cried, and he began kissing her... Back at the casino, Zach packed up his office and glanced at his last will and testament — and a gun.

Livia went to the hospital to see Jack. Julia told her that Jack was too sedated to receive visitors. Livia reluctantly agreed to come back another time. Jon, meanwhile, filled out an application for a job at the hospital. Lily arrived in search of Julia and encountered Jon, who reported that he'd accidentally made matters worse with her father. Lily said it was good that Jon was getting a job, because she'd decided to marry him.

Janet imagined that she and Babe could be the next version of what celebrity mother/daughter duo?

When Krystal woke up at the cabin, she discovered that a soused JR had tied her to her chair. JR told Krystal that Babe doesn't care if she lives or dies, as he sent a text message to Babe reporting that he'd kidnapped her and Babe replied that she won't give up the baby even for Krystal. JR then subjected Krystal to a sadistic game of "I Never", which made it dawn on Krystal that JR does truly love Babe. Krystal urged JR to lure Babe back by assuring her he wanted to work things out and wouldn't press charges.

At Janet's cabin, Babe tried to get on her captor's good side by apologizing for her failed attempt escape; it didn't work. Janet then delivered the news to Babe that JR might be killing her mother. Babe became distraught as she put together that JR believed she snatched their son. "You have to help me save my mother," Babe pleaded. Janet wasn't amenable. Janet spat that Babe deserved to lose her mother, since she (Janet) had lost had daughter. Babe played the role of sympathetic listener as Janet recounted Amanda's "betrayal". A sobbing Janet also spoke about how "cold" Trevor had become toward her. JR then sent a new text message warning Babe that unless Babe contacted him, Krystal was a goner. Janet refused to help, so Babe resorted to desperate measures. "I'll be your daughter!" she offered.

Di was surprised to encounter Dixie in the park and asked her sister why she came back to town. Dix was more interested in finding out what's eating JR; Di broke down the Babe/Little Adam situation to her. Dixie tore off after hearing that Janet Dillon may be involved in their disappearance.

Tad stopped by the Chandler manse and reported to Adam that he had no update on Babe or the baby. Adam told Tad that Krystal is missing. While the men exchanged harsh words about who was responsible for what had become of JR, Dixie sneaked up to the house and listened in. Di entered and mistakenly concluded that they were talking about Dixie being back, so she asked if JR had seen "her", meaning Dixie. The men looked confused; Dixie looked stricken. Di quickly realized they hadn't been referring to Dixie and covered her tracks. Tad and Di then put together that JR was responsible for kidnapping Krystal.

Zach explained to Livia his desire to acknowledge Ethan as his biological son. Zach observed that Livia's reaction was of the "too little, too late" variety. He also asked Liv to make Kendall his sole beneficiary.

At the cemetery, Simone and Kendall stood before Ethan's casket. Simone warned Kendall that if Zach showed up, she'd have him thrown out. Kendall defended Zach's right to attend the funeral even as she assured Simone she hadn't forgive him for betraying her. When the service got underway, Kendall was crushed by Zach's absence. Livia commenced the memorial with a moving a cappella performance, during which Amanda showed up. Ryan spoke eloquently about what Ethan had meant to him. Simone then placed flowers on her beloved's casket and swore her eternal love. Kendall then noted bitterly to Simone that Zach hadn't even bothered to show up. Amanda interrupted them to apologize to Simone for Janet's actions. This was how Simone learned that Ethan's death hadn't been an accident, and she slapped Amanda across the face. Livia, meanwhile, informed Ryan that Ethan had left his Cambias shares to him.

A furious Kendall stormed into Zach's condo and began smashing things. He ran in and restrained her.

Dixie arrived at JR's cabin in time to see her son holding a gun on Krystal.

Jamie frantically tried to enter the boardinghouse, where Amanda and Janet were struggling inside. He burst in and restrained Janet, who fought against him. David came to and intervened, which allowed Janet to escape. Amanda told the men everything she and Janet had discussed. Dave came down on Amanda for not getting more info; Jamie defended her. She apologized to Jamie for not coming forward earlier. Jamie suggested that somewhere in the recesses of Amanda's mind, she might know where Janet would have taken Babe.

Adam took his staff to task for failing to locate Babe and Little Adam. Krystal pulled a gun on Adam and told him to make sure that Babe was returned as safely as the baby. Adam's basic attitude was, "Go ahead, shoot me." When JR arrived, Adam used the opportunity to wrest the gun from Krystal. Later, JR threw a blanket over Krystal's head and dragged her to a remote cabin.

After leaving the boardinghouse, David stormed over to the Chandler manse to confront Adam. When David told him that Janet was the psycho responsible for Babe and Little Adam's disappearance and that they were in serious danger, Adam was mortified. "Krystal was right!" he sighed. Adam was further distressed when he realized that Krystal was missing.

At the cabin, Babe resolved to escape to protect her son and made some progress clawing her way out. She bundled up the baby and tried to leave with him via the window. Unfortunately, Janet got them first.

Lily went to the park to meet up with Jonathan, but encountered Reggie instead. He explained that he was there to protect her. Lily insisted Jon wasn't a threat to her, then gave Reggie the slip. Next, she noticed a ladder with a note on it. She climbed it and found Jon waiting for her in a tree house he'd built as a surprise for her. They then brainstormed how to make Jack realize that Jon is a good guy. Lily also asked Jon to teach her how to lie. The duo also decided to make the tree house their secret meeting place. Lily had to leave when Reggie returned to collect her and take her home.

Aidan asked Erin to elaborate on the statement she'd just made ("I think I love you") and wouldn't let her change the subject by playing pinball. An embarrassed Erin tried to backtrack, then explained that his outrage on Jon's behalf is what made her blurt out that she loved him. She also praised Aidan for making her feel safe. The twosome engaged in another steamy kiss.

Tad and Erica were shocked to overhear that Joe had hired Josh as an intern at the hospital. After Josh left, Erica pleaded with Joe to reconsider, but he refused. "I will not turn my back on my grandson," Joe made clear. Erica told Joe that in her strong opinion, it was critical that Josh leave town without knowing the truth about his identity. Joe was unmoved and spoke of his desire to shepherd Josh back toward the path of goodness. He then chastised Erica for having terminated her pregnancy all those years ago without telling anyone, even the father, Joe's son, Jeff. Erica explained what had prompted her to make that decision so many years ago. "I did what I did to survive," she said. Joe was touched but stood by his choice to hire Josh. Tad reported that he'd spoken to Jeff, who wasn't ready to make a decision about whether to tell Josh.

Josh ran into Greg in the hospital corridor and taunted him with the news that he had just joined the staff. He then returned to Erica's room and accused her of trying to sabotage her new career. Tad ordered him to back off. Josh exited; Erica fretted about how she was going to handle the poised-to-explode Josh situation.

JR met up with Jamie, who claimed to have a lead on Babe's whereabouts. When Aidan arrived with Jonathan and Erin, JR blew a gasket. He insisted that Babe and Babe alone was responsible for Little Adam's disappearance. Aidan tried to convince JR that Janet snatched Babe and the kid and played a tape of a phone call between Janet and Amanda. Jon identified her voice as that of "the chameleon lady," the costumed woman who set him up to take the fall for crimes he hadn't committed. JR still didn't buy it and stormed out. Aidan, Erin and Jon set off to fill in Derek. Erin, moved by Aidan's detective work and all-around good-guyness, announced, "I think I love you."

Janet congratulated herself for rendering David unconscious with a frying pan while Amanda panicked over the increasingly out-of-control situation. She demanded that Janet tell her what she'd done to Babe and Little Adam. Amanda tried to impress upon Janet the severity of the situation, pointing out that people died in the explosion at the ball. Janet broke down in tears at the thought of being sent back to the psych ward. Amanda promised Janet that she'd protect her. Janet was relieved, then gave Dave another whack on the head when he began to stir. Amanda dispatched Janet to fetch her a sweater, then placed a frantic call to Jamie. Unfortunately, as Amanda was telling Jamie that he had to hurry over to her, Janet returned and, with a chilly glare, took her phone and hung it up. Janet laid into Amanda for betraying her. "You will rue this," Janet seethed. Amanda told Janet that she'd have to fight her in order to get past her. Janet tricked Amanda and made a run for the door. They struggled over the doorknob as Jamie arrived and shouted, "Amanda, let me in!"

At the cabin, Babe fantasized about being rescued by JR. In her reverie, he declared his love and told Babe he wanted to marry her immediately.

Dixie tried to remain calm after Zach referred to her by name. She tried to deny it, but Zach told her not to. "Welcome back to Pine Valley," he said. After disparaging JR and Tad, Zach assured Dixie he wouldn't expose to her family that she was alive. They then agreed that even knowing what they knew now, they'd probably make the same decisions vis-a-vis their kids if they could do it all over again. After their bonding session, Dixie left to give Zach some private time at Ethan's gravesite. Before she slipped off, Zach asked Dixie if she was going to stay in town. "Wouldn't you like to know," she replied.

An increasingly out-of-control JR put pressure on his lackeys to track down Babe. JR then had an idea about how to find her.

Josh challenged Erica to tell him how she really feels about him. Erica dodged the question and told her son that he doesn't know who he is or who they are to each other. Erica told Josh she wouldn't press charges against him for drugging her but ordered him out of her life, which was fine by him. What Josh wouldn't do, he made clear, is leave town, no matter how much Greg and Erica wanted him to. Josh was confused by Erica's lack of interest in destroying him and noted that perhaps he'd underestimated her. After Josh left, Erica commented to herself that he most definitely had.

At the empty cabin, a tearful JR mused aloud about how he always loses everyone he loves, unaware that Dixie was listening nearby. He pulled himself together and left the cabin before Dixie could reveal herself.

Kendall asked Ryan to move in with her. "If you want me there, I'm there," he responded. Kendall explained that she wanted Ryan to help her stay away from Zach. Ryan wasn't sure if he was up to the challenge but said he'd do his best. Kendall returned home alone and when someone knocked on the door, she thought it was Zach. It wasn't: It was JR. JR questioned Kendall about whether Zach had bought Babe's Fusion shares and given her enough money to flee. When JR noted that Babe had betrayed him, all of a sudden Kendall was happy to have his company. The two commiserated about how their loved ones broke their hearts.

Zach stared at the plot of ground that would soon become Ethan's final resting place. Dixie strolled up to Zach. Dixie apologized for intruding and said she was there to see her brother. Zach responded that his son was the reason he was there. Dixie asked how he'd lost his son and remarked that she'd lost a son, too. When Zach spoke of how he tried to protect his son by giving him up, Dixie could relate. Zach's account of Ethan's refusal to forgive him for playing dead was chilling to Dixie. Zach then told Dixie it was her turn to talk. Dix described her son as a beautiful but confused young man and that when she'd had a chance to come back to him, she hadn't. Zach said she had the chance now. "It might be too late," she sighed. Dixie started to cry when she said that if she returned now, it might just make things worse. Dixie asked Zach what he would do if he were her. "If I were you, I would disappear again," proffered Zach. He then shocked Dixie by referring to her by name.

Janet and Mirror Janet argued over her decision to release Babe. Mirror Janet warned Janet that Babe would betray her and blab to JR that she kidnapped her. Janet then tore after her former hostage. Janet dragged Babe and Little Adam back into the cabin and placed the baby into her own arms. Babe was unable to convince Janet that she wouldn't turn her in and infuriated Janet by calling her a nutjob. Babe tried to apologize, but it was too late; Janet sent her to her room. There, Babe searched frantically for some way to escape and told Little Adam (who actually spoke!) that it was time for them to play a new game. Shortly thereafter, Babe realized that Janet had gotten awfully quiet...

Amanda placed a frantic call to Janet, but there was no answer. David heard Amanda leaving a message for her mom and surreptitiously dumped a mysterious powder into her glass of iced tea before Tad stopped by Myrtle's to talk to Amanda and begged her to contact Janet. "Find someone else," she groaned. Tad reminded Amanda that Little Adam's life is on the line but she explained that she'd sworn never to betray her mother. Amanda then sipped some of the beverage David had tainted. After Tad left, David revealed himself coolly and informed Amanda that she was going to tell him what she wouldn't tell Tad, as he had put truth serum into her drink. Amanda told David that Janet does have Babe and Little Adam but she doesn't know where. David got a little rough with Amanda before accepting that she truly didn't know. David grabbed Amanda and explained that he was going to make a trade with Janet: Amanda in exchange for Babe and Janet. But before he had the chance, an arriving Janet knocked him unconscious.

Tad stopped by Erica's hospital room and asked how things went with Josh. Erica told Tad that she didn't tell Josh the truth about their mother/son relationship, in part because of her history with Kendall. Tad agreed that the truth could do some serious damage to Josh. Erica was upset that Greg was going to get away with using her and Josh as a science experiment. Tad cautioned Erica that they had to tell Joe about her decision and that he wasn't likely to take it well.... Josh accepted Joe's offer to work at the hospital — which Erica and Tad overheard.
