AMC Recaps Week of March 13, 2006

Erica read the directions accompanying the slow-acting, non-traceable poison she'd ordered from the Internet. When Tad showed up, she covered her activities and asked Tad to dig up more dirt on Dr. Madden. Erica was convinced that there was some way they could use the proper channels to get Madden's medical license revoked, but Tad insisted he'd already found out everything he could. Tad made it clear to Erica that he understood her desire to protect Kendall from Greg and recommended that she go public with what Greg did to her (La Kane). No way, shuddered Erica.
Greg visited Kendall at the condo and delivered a dossier on the couple he wants to adopt her child. Ryan, who was lying on the couch, was alarmed. Kendall promised to read the info; Greg went on his way. Ryan asked Kendall what was going on, outraged that she would consider giving their baby away to virtual strangers. She reminded Ryan that Greg's visit was unsolicited, but that she needed a back-up plan in case she doesn't bond with the baby once it's born. But Kendall made it rather clear that under no circumstances was Julia Santos getting anywhere near her offspring.
A worked-up Ryan barged into Erica's house to report that Greg is pushing Kendall to give up her child for adoption. Erica was not surprised to hear that Madden has been manipulating her daughter and promised Ryan that she would take care of it. Lavery took off; Erica then called Greg and, as she fingered the poison, she claimed to be in "desperate need for some reassurance." He eagerly agreed to come over to her place. When Greg dropped in, Erica wove a tale about how she was worried about Kendall's condition, then made a big show of her gratitude to Greg when he "put her mind at ease." La Kane offered Madden some tea. When he accepted, she fixed him a cup ... with a special extra ingredient. They toasted to lasting peace.
Kendall went up to the Fusion rooftop to contemplate her options, thinking back to past conversations with Zach, Julia and Ryan. She also thought about her own childhood and adoptive parents, and wondered aloud what was wrong with her that she didn't feel able to connect with her baby. She then became paralyzed with fear of heights and screamed for help. Zach came to her rescue.... Ryan was concerned when he got home and Kendall wasn't there.
Josh came by Babe's hospital room to warn her against marrying JR. JR entered and ordered Josh to leave. Joe defended himself to JR when JR criticized him for hiring Josh; JR then returned to his fiancée's bedside. Tad stopped by for a visit and they informed him that they'd set their wedding date (March 23). Tad was thrilled. JR made Babe happy by assuring Tad that Di was invited. Later, the soon-to-be-newlyweds were sharing a cuddly moment when Amanda entered...
Zach opened the door to Dixie's suite and greeted Di, who was startled to learn that Slater and her sister know each other. Di accused Dixie of trying to mess with her head; Dixie countered that Di was selfish to think that everything Dixie does is because of her. Zach left so that the sisters could speak privately. Di asked Dixie why she'd been summoned. After a jab at Di's romantic involvement with Tad, Dix announced that she'd reached a decision. Di assumed the worst (that Dixie intended to reveal herself to Tad and JR) and expressed that she sincerely appreciated the heads-up. Di reported to Dixie that in the aftermath of the Janet debacle, JR turned a corner, let go of much of his anger and bitterness. Dixie was elated. Di began to clue in to the fact that Dix planned to leave town without divulging that she's alive, which Dixie confirmed on the grounds that coming back into JR's life now might undo all the progress he's made. Dixie also made pointed reference to not being ready to spill the details of where she's been and why. Di promised Dixie that she'd look out for her loved ones. "That's all I can ask," sighed a weepy Dixie.... In the hallway, Tad prepared to knock on the door.
David stormed into Wildwind and told Del that Dixie would love to see him. Del replied that David was crazy, but Doc Hayward wouldn't relent. Del didn't do well under David's pressure but David pretended to buy his story. Once alone, though, David grinned to himself, "See Del tap dance." When Di came back to Wildwind, David grabbed her and demanded to see Dixie. "No stalling," he hissed. "I want to see your sister now."

Dixie panicked when her doctor informed her that Zach had gone off in search of Tad.... Zach showed up at Tad's and told him that someone needed to see him. "You have to come with me," said Slater. "Alone," he added, glancing at Di. Tad refused to go. Zach then got a call on his cell phone from Dixie, who ordered him not to say anything about her to Tad. He complied and left after assuring Di he had no intention of firing her from the casino. Tad suggested they get back to what they had been doing (gettin' passionate), but she was distracted by Zach's visit and asked Tad if he'd thought, even for a second, that the someone Zach had referred to could have been Dixie. Tad made it clear to Di that he wanted her to stop punishing herself for having lied about being Dixie, reminding her that everyone, including JR, has forgiven her and welcomed her into the family. With that, they resumed kissing. "I love you," she declared. But she expressed that, because of Dixie, she wasn't sure if she should make love to him. "Dixie's dead," he countered. "I want to move on — with you." He pulled her into another kiss; she didn't resist.
Zach returned to Dixie's side and assured her that he'd kept his mouth shut to Tad. Dix thanked him for his kindness. Zach then confirmed Dixie's suspicion that Tad had been with Di back at his place. Zach asked Dixie if she still loves Tad; she sidestepped the question, but acknowledged to Zach that she's not sure if she can continue staying away from her family. She told Zach that Tad will always be in her heart. "Maybe I am afraid of living," Dixie concluded. While she reminisced about her first kiss with Tad, Di and Tad slept together for the first time. Dixie then rang up Di on her cell phone. "It's me," she said. "I need to see you tomorrow. I know what I'm going to do." Di looked worried.
At the condo, things were getting hot and heavy between Ryan and Kendall. Ryan pulled away because he sensed that Kendall would wake up in the morning regretting their tryst. She reluctantly admitted that he was right about her attempting to distract herself from Zach. "He has this hold on me," she lamented. She apologized for trying to use him as her anti-Zach drug. While Ryan massaged Kendall's shoulders, they chatted amiably about their son-to-be. She then fell asleep in his lap.
JR delivered a stack of wedding magazines to Babe in her hospital suite. Babe was grateful but fretted that they might turn on each other again in the near future. He assured her that wasn't going to happen, then handed a signed prenup to her, the one she'd handed him at the Mardi Gras ball that guarantees them joint custody in the event of a divorce. She ripped up the documents to prove to him that she trusts him. "I want to believe that we're going to be together until death do us part," she explained. JR climbed into bed with Babe and they cuddled.
After suggesting that she and Aidan consummate their relationship, Erin's nerves got the best of her and she started talking a mile a minute. "I think you're scared," he said reassuringly. Erin admitted that she was, sighing that she was sick of being a virgin at 26. Aidan proposed that they wait and play pinball instead, but their game-playing soon turned tender. Erin nodded her consent to Aidan, so he picked her up and carried her into the bedroom. There, they made love for the first time.

Doctors tended to Dixie in Zach's suite as her infection worsened. Zach was hoping to avoid having to take her to a hospital. Slater tended to her, but evaded her fever-induced questions about Kendall. She began mumbling about "Katie." "Dixie, who's Katie?" asked Zach. Dix then told Zach to go, because "she" needs him. She then began moaning for Tad. "Who's Katie?" Zach asked again. "Tad, I need to see him," she replied. "I need to tell him everything." Shortly thereafter, Dixie's fever broke — but Zach was nowhere to be found....
Ryan insisted on staying at Kendall's to discuss their child's future. He broke the news that he wanted to keep the baby; she promised to think about it but stressed that Ryan should think very carefully about his decision. Lavery spoke eloquently about having fallen in love with his son — their son — and Kendall reeled when she realized he wanted to rear the baby not as a single parent, but with her. Ryan felt confident that once the baby was born, Kendall would adore him. Kendall recognized that Ryan, the Ryan she once knew and loved, really was back. Their connection felt strong and she pulled him into a kiss... and then another one. "Make love to me Ryan," she whispered. He responded positively to the command...
Tad and Di hit the bowling lanes on a double date with Aidan and Erin. (The women beat the men handily, for those keeping score at home.) Tad and Di went back to his place, where she gave him advice on his bowling form. The lesson got interrupted by a make-out session.... Aidan and Erin, meanwhile, got passionate back at Aidan's office. She pointed out that she'd never seen his bedroom. "I think that would be the perfect place for you to make love to me," she said.... Tad told Di that he wanted to make love to her. She was game. Just then, there was a knock on the door. It was Zach.
Lily and Jonathan met up at the tree house. He brought a picnic to celebrate Jon's new job as an orderly at the hospital and Janet's arrest. Jon told Lily that he sympathizes with Janet, who is mentally ill; Lily countered that she thinks Janet is responsible for her deeds. Because they disagreed on the issue, Lily felt they should break up. Jon explained to Lily that it's possible to love someone and not agree with them. The concept of "agreeing to disagree" met with Lily's approval, so a breakup was avoided.

JR thanked Adam for his sincere desire to throw JR and Babe the wedding of a lifetime. Babe, meanwhile, told Krystal that she was indeed dead-set on walking down the aisle with JR. Krystal questioned whether JR had truly reformed, but Babe was determined to make a go of things with JR, despite her fears that he might turn on her again. Babe confirmed to Krystal that she is more in love with JR than ever.... Adam acknowledged to JR that he's in love with Krystal. "She has guts," raved Adam. "I can't get enough of her." He told JR he hoped to convince Krystal that she loves him, too.... While Babe and JR basked in their happiness and made plans to stage a wedding on Little Adam's birthday, Krystal and Adam had a powwow in the corridor. She tearfully told Adam that she loved him and would remain in their marriage. "Mrs. Chandler, you have made me the happiest man in this entire hospital," he beamed, pulling her into a steamy kiss.
At the hospital, Erica tried to talk Josh out of staying on the staff as an intern. She failed in her efforts. "Nice try, though," smirked Josh. "If you stay here, there is nothing here for you but regret," Erica insisted.... A sobbing Kendall told Greg about Julia's desire to adopt her baby. Greg questioned Kendall about what she intended to do with the child once it was born and she explained her lack of maternal instinct and her panic about never coming to love the baby she's carrying. Greg recommended that Kendall give the child to adoring adoptive parents but she wasn't sold on the idea, especially given her own history. Greg kept pushing the idea of adoption and even had a couple in mind. Erica overheard Greg trying to sell Kendall on the idea and burst in to summon Kendall to bring her home. Before leaving, Kendall promised to consider Greg's suggestion. Erica pressed Kendall to change to a new doctor, but Kendall refused.
In the hospital corridor, Julia apologized to Ryan for letting the adoption business slip to Kendall. Ryan told her that he'd decided not to accept her offer. "I don't think I can do it," he shrugged. "I don't think I can give my son up." Julia understood, despite her disappointment. Ryan opened up to Julia about his vision of having a son and said that he believed, finally, that he could be a good father despite his own rotten, abusive childhood. Julia asked what role he saw Kendall playing in the baby's life. Ryan wasn't sure.
Kendall took Erica home but left after deciding she wasn't willing to discuss her Ryan-related problems with Ryan's biggest fan. Kendall got back to the condo; Ryan barged in and insisted that they sit down and make a decision about who is going to raise their child.... Greg called the prospective adoptive couple and reported that he may have found a child for them.... Erica got busy on her laptop after vowing not to let Greg take any more children from the Kane women. She did an Internet search for slow-acting, non-traceable poison.
Josh walked in on Julia as she wept over Ryan's decision. Her dislike of Josh intensified and they exchanged barbs.

Erica tried to warn Ryan in a non-specific way about Greg being a threat to him and Kendall. He pressed her for details; she begged him to just trust her and get Kendall away from "that lunatic." "Okay, I'll talk to her," shrugged Ryan.... Erica went to visit Jack, who was still hospitalized. He asked her what had been going on. She tried to brace him for the news about Josh. Jack misunderstood and thought Erica was poised to fill him in about Jonathan and Lily. Realizing that Jack was in no place to hear the Josh bombshell, La Kane excused herself. She bumped into Greg in the hall and bolted.... Erica met with Joe in his office to entreat him to fire Josh from his hospital job. Joe wouldn't back down. Erica took a moment for herself, which Josh interrupted.
Kendall was caught majorly off-guard by Julia's revelation that she was interested in adopting Kendall and Ryan's son. Kendall grilled Julia for more info about her conversations with Ryan. After hearing more about the chats, Kendall blasted Julia for failing to take her into consideration. Ryan strolled up and Kendall called him out on going behind her back with Julia. Kendall threatened to revoke Ryan's paternal rights. Ryan defended himself by insisting that he wanted what was best for Kendall and the baby and just hadn't had a chance to tell her about Julia's offer. She stalked off, unmoved by his rationale. She took refuge in Dr. Madden's office and began sobbing. Greg offered to help; she broke down in his arms.
David gripped Janet by the throat and demanded that Janet tell him everything she knows about Dixie. Ultimately, she opened up (primarily about how everyone loves Dixie because she's blonde). Janet told David she's 100 percent sure that the woman she saw at the ball was Dixie, but he stormed off after realizing that he'd never get the info he wanted from her.
With Krystal and Adam looking on, Babe responded to JR's marriage proposal by telling him that he was clueless and arrogant. Babe berated JR for not believing in her while she was being held prisoner by Janet. JR took the heat and delivered a heartfelt apology. When she wouldn't accept it, he stepped aside. Adam followed JR into the hallway and encouraged his son not to give up. Josh overheard their conversation and smugly told JR that he'd never deserved Babe....
Tad and Di got the news from Jamie that Babe and Little Adam were on the mend. Tad then asked Di if he could talk with her privately. "Should I be worried?" she gulped. He kicked off their alone time by stealing her a rose and pulling her into a dance. Di relaxed when she realized that romance was the only thing on Tad's mind. JR then entered and asked Tad and Di for help. Tad was amazed by JR's psychological turnabout.
Krystal confirmed to Babe that JR didn't give her the benefit of the doubt, even for a minute, during the kidnapping. JR then entered with Tad, Di and Jamie. He told Babe he knew it would take a miracle to win her back and pleaded for the chance to rectify his many mistakes. To that end, he offered forgiveness to Krystal for switching the DNA results and asked her to return the favor. He also apologized to Krystal for disrespecting her daughter. JR swore to the group that he was done seeking revenge against them. He forgave Jamie for sleeping with Babe and going on the run with his son; he forgave Tad for lying to him about Little Adam; he forgave Di for lying to him about her identity. Tad told JR he knew that Dixie was as proud of him as he, Tad, is. David then showed up and JR offered him a curt clemency as well, for seducing Dixie, etc. "Are you out of your freakin' mind?" scoffed David. JR then asked Babe again for her forgiveness. "Yes," she said. They both dissolved into tears of joy. Tad and Di then made plans for a dinner date.... Adam told JR that he was proud of him and offered to throw him and Babe the wedding of the century.... Krystal asked Babe if she really planned to marry JR.
Jon turned up at Janet's jail cell and asked her why she tried to destroy his life. He was angry at first, but when she spoke of how all she'd wanted to do her whole life was fit in, Jon ended up empathizing with her greatly.
