AMC Recaps Week of April 24, 2006
Friday, April 28, 2006
The next morning, Dixie arrived back at the Chandler mansion to discover JR wasn't there. Babe couldn't understand why Dixie would abandon her son and wanted answers. Dixie wasn’t going to explain herself to Babe. "Well, explain yourself to me," Jamie demanded as he walked in. Dixie apologized for hurting him, but didn't offer any answers. "Of all people, I never expected you to treat us like this," Jamie said with disgust. Dixie fought back, "Well, James, I never expected you to sleep with your brother's wife." When he claimed she couldn't go there because she wasn't there and didn't know what happened, she said the same to him. She'd be able to tell them all what happened to her at some point, but not now. Right now, she wanted to find JR. "Babe and I will find JR. You just stay the hell away from him!" Jamie yelled before leaving. Once alone with Dixie, Babe informed her mother-in-law that if she didn't have a good excuse for JR, she'd better make one up, because right now JR thought she didn't love him enough.
JR went to visit Janet at the institution and told her he knew his mom was alive. Now he wanted more info on Babe. It took a little convincing, but Janet finally went on and on about Babe's plan to woo, marry then divorce JR. "You're not going to shoot the messenger, are you?" An obviously disturbed JR stood to leave. "I'll take care of everything," he said before walking out the door. Later, JR went to the Fusion construction site in search of Babe. When he knocked a beam over, he screamed that it was dangerous and someone could get killed there. He suddenly got a chilling gleam in his eyes and pictured beams and bricks falling on Babe. Just then, his wife walked in the door.
Dr. Madden was disturbed to find Kendall missing from his spa. Ms. Hart was on a boat with Zach — who was kidnapping her. When he explained he wanted her to relax and think about what she really wanted for her baby, she said she couldn’t handle the pressure. She couldn’t have him looking at her like he still loved her. "I do still love you," he admitted, "I always will." Kendall couldn't forget that Zach was the reason she was pregnant and alone. "You don't have to be alone," Zach pointed out. She could do whatever she wanted concerning the baby. And if she wanted him, he was there, too.
When Ryan found Erica in Greg's office, she begged him to tell her he found Kendall so she didn’t have to inform Josh she's his mother. Sadly, Ryan still had no clue where Kendall was. Ryan fetched Josh for her and minutes later, Erica and her son were alone together. Erica painfully began her tale, but Ryan interrupted before she had a chance to get to the good stuff: the fact that Josh was her son. Ryan announced that Kendall was safe. Soon after, Greg arrived. Erica kept mum about her secret and she and Ryan left. Josh was obviously shaken up and wanted answers from Greg, but Greg claimed he was hiding nothing. Outside of Greg's office, Ryan revealed to Erica that Zach now had Kendall. Later, Dixie showed up at Greg’s office and announced her family knew she was alive. "You tell me where my daughter is,” she demanded, “or they will rip you to shreds."

Kendall was startled when she woke up and found Greg standing over her. He was there to make sure she settled in okay. Greg then received a phone call from Erica. He told her he didn't know where her daughter was, and she threatened to tell Josh the truth. After hanging up, Greg promised Kendall that Erica, Ryan and everyone else wouldn't be able to find her now. Then he proposed that Kendall stay until she delivered the baby. Later, Kendall went back to sleep but woke up yet again to someone in her room. This time it was Zach, who wanted to talk to her. "Go to hell. There, we talked," she replied. He wanted to talk to her regarding her decision about the baby. "You come with me, we'll talk, and then I'll bring you back here to Camp Cupcake and you can do whatever you want." Kendall wasn't happy, but she agreed.
Lily and Jonathan both got out of bed fully clothed to answer Jack and Ryan's questions. Lily explained, "we had to practice sleeping together in the same bed for when we move in together," which, of course, infuriated Jack. He immediately took her home and chastised her. Lily explained to her father than when she turned 18 she'd have complete control over her life. With that, she left Jack and Erica alone. Jack immediately picked up the phone and called Lily's boarding school. He was sending his daughter back. Erica wasn't pleased with this decision. Back at Ryan's, Jonathan told his brother how much he and Lily loved each other. "This love with Lily will hurt you very badly," Ryan warned.
At the Chandler mansion, Tad, Brooke, Krystal, Adam, Di and Babe were all relieved when JR walked through the door. "There is absolutely no problem," he told them, right as Dixie arrived. She reunited with Jamie, who had harsh words for her. JR took Dixie's star necklace off of Babe and returned it to his mother. After telling the group not to worry about him, JR took his wife upstairs. Jamie also turned to leave, and Tad saw his son out.
Once Brooke, Krystal, Adam and Di were alone with Dixie, they demanded answers. Why did she stay away? Was it another man? Did she think they didn't want her back? Tad listened from outside the door as Krystal finally asked, "What happened to your baby?" With tears in her eyes, Dixie explained that she traveled halfway around the world to save her daughter and she failed. "I lost our daughter and I don't ever want to talk about it — any of it— anymore." Adam shrugged, "Fine. Get out." And he meant his house and Pine Valley. She made it clear to everyone that she wasn't leaving the boys again. She headed for the front door and noticed Tad sitting on the staircase. They stared at each other for a few minutes and she finally left. Brooke comforted Tad and the two decided to go find Jamie to tell him they loved him. Upstairs, Babe begged JR to talk to her. She didn't believe for a second he was so nonchalant about his mother's return. When she realized he'd been drinking, she expressed her concern, but he brushed it off. Later, in bed, she told him how much she and Little A loved him. "That's why I know it's all going to be okay," he assured her, but while she slept, he was haunted by Janet's warnings about Babe.

Alone on the Fusion rooftop, JR popped open a bottle of champagne and began to take swigs. Erin joined him and broke the news that Kendall was nowhere to be found. JR complimented Erin's eyes and tried to get Erin to play "Rose" to his "Jack" (as in Titanic's lovers). For his next act, JR pulled a flustered Erin into a steamy kiss. He broke from it and filled Erin in on his mother's comeback. Erin tried to coax JR down from the ledge, which he was walking on in a precarious fashion. JR noted to Erin that since Janet was telling the truth about Dixie, she might well be telling the truth about Babe not loving him. Aidan showed up and sent JR on his way. Aidan then told Erin about Kendall having possibly left town on Greg's yacht.
Krystal read Adam the riot act for attempting to ship Dixie out of town. Jamie barged in, still reeling from Josh's revelation about Dixie's comeback, and reported that JR had already seen Dixie. Tad showed up next; Jamie assured his dad that he was okay. Di and Brooke arrived to join the brigade of folks worried about JR. When Babe entered, she was distraught to learn that JR wasn't there. Babe was livid with the group for not giving JR advance warning. Jamie blasted Di for having kept Dixie's secret; Brooke defended her. Tad smashed a vase to focus the gang's attention on JR. Everyone (minus Adam and Krystal) took off to try to find JR. Krystal tried to console Adam.... Babe and Jamie looked for JR at the Roadside Bar but found David there instead. Babe lashed out at her dad again but he was unapologetic for what he'd done to JR. Jamie punched his face before exiting with Babe. Babe and Jamie returned to the Chandler home empty-handed; the rest of the group also came back having failed to locate JR. JR then walked in.
Lily came to see Jonathan at the Laverys' penthouse and told him she was there to spend the night with him. Jon reminded Lily that if Jack caught them, he'd send her back to boarding school. Lily was confident that they could avoid such a sentence and explained that in order for their plan to move to Boston to succeed, she had to spend the night with him. Why? To practice sharing a bed. Lily invited herself into Jon's room and was pleased by its lack of red decor. She climbed into Jon's bed.... Jack and Ryan burst into Jon's room and found Jon and Lily there. Lily was under the covers; Jon was on top of them, fully clothed.
Erica and Ryan met up at her home. La Kane was frantic to get Greg Madden to reveal Kendall's whereabouts and was willing to go public with what Greg had done to her to make that happen, but Ryan had qualms. He reminded her that Jack still didn't know the truth about Josh. Erica voiced her belief that it was best to wait to tell Jack. "Tell him what?" asked an arriving Jack. Ryan covered for her and changed the subject back to Kendall. Jack went to check on Lily and flipped out when he discovered her missing. Jack tore off to the Lavery penthouse, furious at the mere notion that Lily might be there. Ryan followed. Once alone, Erica had a series of flashbacks tracing her involvement with Madden.
At the spa, Kendall was visited in her room by three pregnant women bearing milkshakes. She was shocked when one of the ladies revealed that every guest at the spa was expecting. The women regaled Kendall with tales of how Greg was a hero in their collective eyes. Kendall was grateful for the ladies' support.

JR was speechless when he saw Dixie with Josh at the casino bar. Dixie frantically tried to convince JR that she had never wanted him to suffer and tongue-lashed David for his cruelty. As JR's eyes filled with tears, Dixie begged her son not to listen to David's rantings. Josh tried to intervene, but Babe ordered him to stay out of it. Dixie got JR to agree to go upstairs and talk with her privately. Once alone with David, Babe warned her dad that he would regret setting JR up for such a fall, but broke down in tears over how Dixie could inflict such hurt upon JR. Upstairs, Dixie told JR that it took her a really long time to recover from her accident, but that she hadn't suffered from amnesia; it devastated him to learn that she'd known who she was all along. "The only thing that's important is that you know that I love you," she said. He turned away and poured himself a drink. She discouraged him from drinking, but he bitterly reminded her that she couldn't tell him what to do. JR reeled as Dixie confirmed to him that Janet, Tad, Adam, David and Di all knew before he did that she was alive. "Who are you now, lady?" sobbed JR. "Because you sure as hell are not my mother." Dix conceded that she'd done some unforgivable things but stressed that she was still his mother and that she'd never stopped caring about him. Dix revealed that she'd returned to town once before, but that he hadn't been there (remember his tramp steamer adventure?). JR was unmoved and praised Adam for having been there for him when she wasn't. He demanded to know where she'd been and why. Dix hedged that she'd had some unfinished business and that she still hadn't gotten the answers she'd been seeking. She told JR that she hadn't been, and still wasn't, ready to face everybody. He pointed out that she wasn't doing a very good job of explaining why she'd abandoned him. "I was ashamed," she cried. "What were you so ashamed of?" he queried. "I can't tell you. I'm sorry," was her reply. "Thanks for filling in the blanks," he said sarcastically. After telling Dixie that she ceased to be his mother four years ago, he stormed out of the room. Back in the casino bar, Babe was growing ever more upset and ever more disgusted with David. She caught a glimpse of her distraught hubby as he bolted from the building. "I never want to see you again," Babe spat to David before tearing off after her husband. Upstairs, Dixie collapsed in tears.
After Josh left the casino, he encountered Jamie at the basketball court, where he was shirtlessly shooting hoops. Josh peeled off his own shirt (natch) for a game of one-on-one. During the game, Josh let it slip that JR was back at the casino with his dead mom. Jamie grabbed Josh by the throat and ordered him to shut up. Josh broke away and told Jamie the whole story of how things had gone done with Dixie and JR at the casino. Jamie walked off the court. "That's a forfeit!" Josh called after his retreating opponent.
Brooke showed up at Wildwind to congratulate Di on her engagement to Tad. Del asked Brooke if she'd be interested in doing a cover story on Dixie's return. Di filled in a stunned Brooke about Dixie's return and sought her advice about the tattered state of her relationship with Tad. Brooke chastised Di and Del for the trouble they've caused her extended family. Di defended herself for keeping Dixie's secret. Brooke maintained that God would have forgiven Di for breaking her promise to her sister. "Put yourself in my place," urged Di. Brooke had to admit that she's not sure what she would have done had the tables been turned and even copped to having been in a similar situation. Di communicated to Brooke just how deeply she loved Tad, JR and Jamie. Brooke told Di that she would help her try to lessen the agony the men were experiencing.
Tad ran into Stuart, who was ecstatic when Tad revealed that Dixie was alive, but was confused by Tad not feeling the same way. Tad explained that Dixie's final letter had become like a lifeline to him after she "died", so learning that Dix had opted to stay away all those years was like a knife through his heart. Tad expressed his concerns about Jamie and JR. Stuart felt that Tad needed to forgive Dixie to role-model that behavior for his sons. Tad sighed that he felt too lost to find the right path. Stuart reminded Tad that Dixie loved him and the boys fiercely and that something serious must have happened for Dixie to feel like she couldn't come back. He even mentioned Kate as a possibility. Stuart recommended that Tad use his detective skills to solve this particular mystery, insisting that there was more to the story.

Erica went ballistic when Greg suggested they pursue a romantic relationship. "We share a destiny," he claimed. "It hurts me that you don't see it yet." Erica ordered Greg to stop stalling and tell her where Kendall is. When Ryan barged in, he stopped Erica from physically attacking the doctor but demanded that Madden spill the Kendall beans. Greg denied knowing where Kendall is. Julia showed up and confronted him about misdiagnosing her as infertile, adding that she'd summoned Joe. Joe read Greg the riot act for giving Julia the false diagnosis. Greg maintained his cool, as he'd covered his tracks in the formal report he wrote following Julia's exam. Ryan and Erica backed up Julia's account of how things had gone down with Greg, but Joe sided with the doc. Erica was mortified and declared to Ryan that she was going to go public about Josh in order to get Kendall back.
Aidan and Zach met up at the yacht club. Zach told Aidan to look into Greg's accounts on the Cayman Islands but otherwise refused his help in tracking down Kendall. Aidan wouldn't take no for an answer so Zach revealed that Greg's yacht had set sail the night Kendall disappeared, but he didn't know where it was headed. Zach then got a clue as to Kendall's whereabouts from one of the marina employees. Viewers then got a glimpse of Kendall at a spa bearing the same name as Greg's yacht: ReGeneration.
JR and Babe lifted the cover off the packing crate that contained an unconscious Dixie. Arriving officials informed them that they had the wrong crate and moved to a different one before finding his mother. They were headed home when Josh arrived, charged with transporting an organ that was slated for a transplant. After a brief chat with Josh (in which Babe was pleasant and JR was less so), they continued on their way. The Dixie crate then caught Josh's eye and, on a hunch, he decided to unpack it. He was rather surprised when he unearthed Dixie. She regained consciousness and he introduced himself as a doctor. They arrived at the casino because Dixie refused to go to the cops or the hospital. After some prodding, she agreed to let Josh buy her a drink.
In Dixie's suite at the casino, Tad and Adam's fisticuffs landed them on the bed. David sauntered in and picked up the gun, pointing it at the men. Adam swore up and down that Dixie wasn't in danger and had left town of her own accord. Tad and David didn't buy it. David mocked Tad for losing track of Dixie so quickly and pressed Adam to reveal what he'd done with Dixie. Dixie walked in and was greeted by the sight of David training his gun on Tad and Adam. She sighed, "Put the gun down." David complied. Dix blasted Adam for trying to ship her out of the country and tossed Adam and David out of the room. She asked Tad to stay. "Why?" he sulked. She requested his help with revealing herself to JR. He urged her to tell her the truth about why she'd stayed away for so long. "I wish I could explain that," she offered meekly. Tad warned Dixie that when JR finds out she stayed away on purpose, his world will explode. Dix explained that she had no choice but to reveal herself to JR because she couldn't ask him to lie to JR. Tad left after observing that while she still knows him well, he doesn't know her at all.
In the car on the way back to the manse, JR asked Babe what Josh had meant when he made a comment about her needing to play hardball. Babe denied understanding the significance of the remark, but JR seemed unconvinced. Babe noted that JR was awfully susceptible to the insinuations of third parties and made it clear that she was tired of being doubted. JR took Babe's hand and admitted, "I totally suck." After they made peace, David called Babe on her cell phone and lured his daughter and son-in-law to the casino hotel under false pretenses (he claimed that he was leaving town and wanted to give the Chandlers a wedding gift before he went away).
Dixie met up with Josh at the casino bar. David smirked in the background as she accepted the glass he proffered. While Dixie and Josh made flirty small talk, JR entered with Babe — and was stunned by the sight of his mother.
