AMC Recaps Week of May 29, 2006

In New York City, Aidan told Reggie and Jack he discovered Lily and Jonathan had filed for a marriage license. The men took off to the courthouse, in hopes to stop a wedding, but had many problems getting through security. Meanwhile, everything that could go wrong for Lily and Jonathan on their wedding day, did. Before they could make it in front of the judge, Lily freaked out because another couple was yelling, Jonathan had an awful headache and collapsed and then the lady setting up the weddings was wearing red, which Lily couldn't handle. You'd think they would take these things as signs, but alas, they did not. Reggie and Jack finally made it through security and upstairs — just in time to hear Lily and Jonathan pronounced husband and wife.
Greg managed to hide an unconscious Erica (in a trunk!) before Di, Del, JR, Babe and Jamie (who was quickly informed his sister was alive) could enter his office. Greg told the crew the same story he told Tad: Kate died and Dixie couldn't accept it so she'd been harassing him for years. When Di mentioned that Tad and Dixie were following a lead from him right now, Greg blew it off by saying Dixie broke into his office and found misleading info on a child around Kate's age. JR quickly left and Babe and Jamie followed him. He didn't know what to believe. Was his sister alive? Or was Dixie crazy? JR also informed his little brother that he pled guilty and would be going to jail soon. Meanwhile, Del pretended to be on Madden's side so he could get close to the doc. In return, Madden got Del to help him carry the trunk (with Erica inside) onto a plane. Back in the hospital, Di, JR and Jamie all decided to work together to stop Madden. Di informed the two that Del was taking care of him right now. Unfortunately, Di didn't know it was Madden taking care of Del. After drinking obviously drugged water, Del collapsed, leaving Madden alone on the plane with Erica.
At Coma Kendall's bedside, Bianca begged her sister to come back to them. She could already tell Spike would be a handful. "I don't think Maggie and I could take it," she told her sister, "I don't think we could survive Hurricane Spike. He needs his mom." Meanwhile, out in the hall, Zach refused to go anywhere with Derek; he wasn't leaving his wife. Ryan convinced Zach to go about this the right way and he could get back to Kendall within a couple of hours. Livia could meet them at the station and Zach would be out on bail. Zach finally agreed, but first had to say goodbye to Kendall. He slipped her wedding ring back on her finger and pledged his love before allowing the officers to escort him to jail. Binks and Ryan went back to Kendall's beside. They were devastated they were losing her. While Ryan told Kendall all about Spike, Bianca retrieved Spike's baby blanket and brought it back to her sister so a part of Spike could be with her. In his jail cell, a devastated Zach had a hallucination of his wife fading and yelled for someone to release him. He needed to get to Kendall.

Stranded in the wilderness, Dixie couldn't believe that Tad burned down the only shelter they had, but he insisted it would work and someone would soon rescue them. Dix still feared it wouldn't be in time and Greg would be gone. Tad assured her he'd make sure he got answers from Madden. The Forest Ranger finally arrived, but the results weren't exactly what the duo hoped for: they were arrested for arson! Meanwhile, outside of Madden's office, Di and Del kept watch to make sure the dastardly doc didn't flee. Brother and sister passed the time by talking about Tad and Dixie. Di still loved Tad, but she wanted him to be happy. She was intent on helping Tad and Dixie find Kate.
There was silence in the OR until Spike finally took his first breath (FYI: it was a VERY life-like doll playing the premie). Coma Kendall thanked God, and the drug was administered. Meanwhile, it looked like Erica was about to open up to Binks about Josh when Babe and JR walked into Kendall's room. Bianca blasted JR for showing his face there. Erica started to defend JR, but was shocked when JR told them, "I did this to Kendall." A furious Erica demanded they leave, so Binks escorted them out. Later, Ryan delivered good news to Erica: the baby would be okay. Unfortunately, Kendall's fate was still up in the air.
In the hall, JR apologized to Bianca, but she didn't want to hear it. "You are a sick, sick man," she said. Binks couldn't help but wonder how Babe could still stand by her husband. Babe excused JR and tried to explain to Bianca she was remaining by JR's side because he was finally trying to make things right. “Maybe being with him is part of your punishment,” Bianca shrugged, making it clear she hadn’t forgotten that Babe stole Miranda. When Julia told Binks that Kendall was back in her room, she quickly ran to her sister’s side. There, Zach, Erica and Bianca all tried to will Kendall to wake up, but Sleeping Beauty's eyes remained closed. Erica told Zach it was all his fault and ran out of Kendall’s room. Meanwhile, Coma Kendall told us she was slipping away. Derek soon arrived to arrest Zach. In the nursery, Ryan introduced himself to Spike.
In Greg's office, Josh demanded to know what his dad did to Erica. Greg insisted he did nothing wrong, but Josh said he was obviously running from something. Greg reminded his son, yet again, that he's the only reason Josh was there. Josh had heard this all before and started to leave, but stopped in his tracks when Greg announced: "Your mother never wanted you to be born." Erica walked up outside of Greg’s door to hear Josh say, “Are you saying my mom was some sort of sick experiment for you?!” Lucky for La Kane, Josh assumed Greg was talking about his dead wife (the woman who raised Josh) and told his pop to go to hell. As soon as Josh was gone, Erica walked into Greg's office to yell at him. Too bad for her, he had the upper hand and injected her with a drug.
While taking a walk in the hospital, JR unfortunately ran into David, who attacked the young Chandler for trying to kill his daughter. JR told David he’d soon be going to jail, then warned David to stay away from Dixie. David believed that when he found Kate, Dixie would be eternally grateful. Babe and JR convinced David to tell them what he knew about Madden, and the next thing we knew, JR was outside of Greg’s office — while the doc was inside with an unconscious Erica.

Di dropped by Tad and Aidan's PI office and learned that Tad was with Dixie at the moment looking for Kate. Aidan was pleasantly surprised when he realized Di cared about Tad, but pointed out she would much rather be with Tad herself than to see him with Dixie. "It doesn't take a detective to figure that out, now does it?" she quipped. Meanwhile, once Tad and Dixie's plane landed in Maine, the duo wondered if they were really about the come face-to-face with their little girl. In short, no. They arrived at an abandoned shack and soon after their plane left without them, stranding them in the middle of the wilderness together. They quickly realized that Madden had duped them. Dixie knew what this meant: By the time they found a way back to Pine Valley, Madden would be gone. She'd been through this too many times. Tad told her not to worry, though, because he had someone tagging Greg. Little did he know that back in Pine Valley, his investigator was calling out of work because of family obligations. Aidan was in a bind because he had to get back to NYC to look for Lily, so Di offered to stay on Madden's trail. Aidan reluctantly agreed. Back in the wilderness, Tad and Dixie hoped a Ranger was nearby and Tad prepared to burn the shack.
At the hospital, Josh confronted Erica about what he had on Greg. Erica slammed Josh for being insensitive and told him to go to his father if he had any concerns. Meanwhile, the pressure was slowly increasing in Kendall's head, but Ryan and Zach remained adamant that the baby should come first. The doctors performed one more test on the baby to see how he was doing. While waiting on the results, Erica and Bianca spent some time alone with Kendall. They both needed Kendall to keep fighting and hang on for all of their sakes. Coma Kendall didn’t know how much longer she could hang on, and wanted Binks to take care of Erica and Spike if she couldn’t. Then, Kendall's doctor entered (followed immediately by Ryan and Zach) with some good news: the baby's chances were good enough to go ahead with the C-section. Kendall was prepped for surgery and Zach and Ryan were allowed in the OR. The baby was quickly delivered, and Zach, Ryan and Coma Kendall all were distressed when Spike didn't start crying. "What's wrong with my baby?" Coma Kendall painfully wondered. Meanwhile, while Erica and Binks waited on news, Bianca pleaded with her mom to tell her why she hated Greg Madden so much.
Earlier in the episode, Julia had a powwow with Ryan and Zach about Amanda becoming a surrogate. Zach revealed to the two that he and Dixie discovered Madden used his own sperm when impregnating his surrogates. Meanwhile, in Madden's office, Jamie informed Greg that Amanda wasn't going anywhere with him. He demanded that the evil doc back off of Amanda becoming a surrogate. Julia arrived and assured the doc Amanda wasn't going to have one of his "mini-Maddens." Greg denied her accusations, but Jamie and Julia threatened that Brooke could do an exposé about it for Tempo. Amanda entered and demanded Julia and Jamie stay out of her life. Too late. Madden announced she wasn’t ready to be a surrogate yet and he’d be leaving without her. Amanda was devastated, but Jamie tried to console her. Later, Greg told his son he was leaving Pine Valley and wanted Josh to come with him.

Babe told her husband she must be crazy, because she believed him. "I can't picture my life without you, but I don't know how we can get back to where we were," she proclaimed. (Ya think?! He tried to KILL you.) For their son's sake, JR begged Babe to help him "make it right." Back inside the Chandler mansion, Krystal and Adam were shocked when JR and Babe walked in together. JR explained to his dad that he pled guilty to attempted murder, but Adam was relieved when he realized JR didn't have a lawyer present. JR was ready to face the music, though. He explained how Stuart helped open his eyes with their little visits and announced that Dixie stayed away because of Kate, who was very much alive. Regardless, Adam didn't want his son going to jail. JR was ready for it, but until the time came, JR asked Babe if he could stay at the mansion with her and Little A. She agreed, but he’d be staying in the guest room.
While Tad was investigating the lead Greg gave him, Dixie arrived at his PI office. After asking her to leave, Dixie declared she was entitled to any information he had. "As far as I'm concerned, you're entitled to nothing." Dixie finally convinced her ex to let her in the loop and the duo worked together making phone calls, trying to find more info on their missing daughter. Tad hit the jackpot when he reached a Mr. Brewster, who adopted a little girl from Greg Madden four years ago. Tad arranged for a meeting and booked a private flight, but wasn’t about to let Dixie join him. The new incarnation of Dixie is a tough chick, though, and walked on board the plane without a welcome. He’d have to shoot her to get her off the plane, she claimed. Later, while in the air, Dixie couldn’t help but wonder: What if this couple's little girl was indeed Kate? Tad actually smiled, "Well, then I guess we better be prepared to meet our daughter."
Amanda was distressed to find out Madden was leaving Pine Valley. He assured her that he wasn't leaving her, though. He wanted her to come with him. Meanwhile, Julia and Jamie were getting hot and heavy on the beach until Julia finally pulled away. She deemed what they were doing was "inappropriate." Once they had their clothes on again, Jamie revealed how worried he was about Amanda since she was going to be a surrogate and work with Dr. Madden. “We have to stop this from happening,” said Julia. They returned to the hospital to find Amanda in Madden’s office. She announced she was leaving town with him and told them to mind their own business. Alone with Julia, Jamie vowed he’d take care of Madden.
Throughout the episode, Ryan and Zach silently stood by Coma Kendall’s beside. Meanwhile, outside in the hall, Bianca tried to assure her disbelieving mother that she could trust Kendall with Zach and Ryan. The person Erica shouldn't trust was JR. Erica soon excused herself for some alone time. Once she was gone, Josh walked up to Bianca. The unknowing brother and sister butted heads, but Josh soon comforted Binks. Elsewhere, Erica bumped into Greg. She was desperate now and wanted him to save both Kendall and her baby. He gave her false hope, but then grinned and said he couldn’t do anything since he wasn’t Kendall’s doctor anymore. Josh and Bianca (who were on their way to get a cup of coffee together) walked up just in time to hear Erica threaten Madden.
