AMC Recaps Week of August 21, 2006Friday, August 25, 2006 JR worried about Babe, who was at that moment returning home to a worried Krystal, who grilled her about Josh. They bickered and Colby eavesdropped. Krystal told Babe about JR's beating, and advised her not to mention spending the night with Josh. When JR was discharged he ran into a snarky David, who was confident the evidence would convict Dixie. Babe insisted nothing happened with Josh, even though they shared a room. Colby came forward to snipe at Babe. Then Krystal said she sent Colby's party dress back because it was too expensive. JR and Adam returned, and JR demanded to know where Babe was last night. Back at the hospital, Dixie apologized to David for saying horrible things and leading him on when she first returned. She wants to be friends again. Babe recounted her night with Zarf and the shooters. JR was proud that she "totally scored on your trip," and they snuggled. Colby moaned about her dress, then asked Babe if she and Josh scored autographs? The reference to Josh confused JR, and Colby said she thought Krystal said Babe spent the night with Josh. Josh found Erica waiting in his room with breakfast and a request to start a relationship with him. He shocked her by revealing he spent last night with Babe. Erica admitted she pressed her mother's buttons the exact same way and begged to be part of his life. He wondered if she poisoned his juice the way she poisoned Greg. Furious, he told her, "You don't get a beginning with someone you tried to terminate," and slammed the door in her face. Kendall thanked Ryan for spending the night, but worried because Spike wasn't crying, so she woke him up. Ryan was confident Derek has gotten word they spent the night together. Kendall wondered what Ryan expects in return? He insisted he's just happy to be Spike's dad, and suggested a trip to the park, which set off a bonding-over-baby musical montage. David said he cares about Dixie and always will, and agreed to be friends. When she left he revealed he was faking, and vowed to make sure she never gets Kate back.
Tad bristled at Zach's mention of Kate, and Zach warned him away. Then Derek burst in. He had the house bugged, so now he's got all the evidence he needs. Tad will be the star witness for the prosecution.
Thursday, August 24, 2006 A man with binoculars watched as Ryan and Kendall made out. Then they closed the blinds and discussed Derek's skepticism. She fretted over endangering their friendship, then asked him to come to bed with her. They played cards under the covers, then a topless Ryan took out trash — all for the benefit of the cop watching them. Ryan offered to sleep on a couch, but Kendall promised to behave and invited him into bed with her. He crawled in, and they lay there uneasily. David admitted he beat JR — in self-defense. JR awoke, calling for Babe. As David told Tad, Zach, Adam and Krystal his story, Dixie remembered the security camera. JR told Adam and Dixie, "Hayward called you a whore." Meanwhile, David pretended to be clueless about Kate's picture. Derek appeared and listened as David dismissed JR's injury as a result of David stumbling into him. Tad warned David to stay away, and he left (after an exchange of threats with Zach). Brooke vowed not to drop the issue of Julia dating Jamie. Derek dismissed Zach with a cruel "No wonder Kendall didn't look back" as he recounted the report from his man: Kendall gave Ryan a welcome-home kiss and dragged him inside for a "hardcore show." JR told Jamie that David wants to keep anyone from finding Kate — and he killed Greg! Tad accused Adam of using Dixie "like a brood mare." Then he threatened to put a noose around Zach's neck himself. JR called out for Babe. Babe was half-naked in a Philadelphia shower, embracing Josh. He turned off the water and she left. When Josh had cooled down a little he found Babe in a manic phase over the business deal. She spun around and fell, tried to dance with him and fell, got all giggly. She said she hasn't been this happy since her wedding. She got up, but Josh grabbed her robe, uncovering her bra. Babe dropped the robe and her undies — but it turned out she was alone in the bathroom. She left a message for JR about her success with Zarf. She went back into the suite and thanked Josh for everything, including not taking advantage of her. He covered for his gallantry, and noted, "I like you because I always have the best time when I'm with you." Later, Josh ordered her banana pancakes and peanut butter from room service, because it was "good enough for Elvis." Babe said, "I've never been happier," and wondered if she deserves to be happy. Josh called this one of the most fantastic nights of his life — and he didn't even kiss her. He never had a woman friend before, someone he cared about as a person, ya know? No, she didn't: Babe fell asleep. (Note to Josh: Nice guys finish last.) He rested his head on hers.
Wednesday, August 23, 2006 Babe and Josh almost failed to convince preening rock star Zarf to license his songs to Fusion — until Babe revealed she was a longtime fan who read his Web site. Then Zarf served the Jell-O shooters and worked out their astrological charts. He called Babe a "soul mate," but told Josh, "You have no idea who you are, do you?" Meanwhile, Joe asked Jeff how it was going with Josh. Jeff said Josh isn't returning to medicine, and he wants Babe to work on Josh. Joe was skeptical of trusting Babe. Zark was skeptical of working with them, but Babe won him over when he tried the eyeliner. Zarf left them his hotel suite for the night. Josh wanted to take her home. Babe didn't want JR to see her drunk, so Josh dragged her into the shower. She pulled him in, too, stripped off her top and they embraced. Ryan and Annie watched Emma enjoy the carnival and David watched them. Dennis corralled David, whom Annie recognized from earlier. David said he heard a report of heart attack on his police scanner. Annie was skeptical, but Ryan figured he was no threat to the child. David warned Annie she's mixed up with a dangerous man, and Ryan warned him to shut up, but David's beeper went off and he left. Annie didn't question Ryan's past. Brooke demanded to know Julia's intentions with Jamie. Julia insisted it was casual. Brooke pointed out he's going to medical school in the fall, so Julia should leave him alone. Just then, JR was brought in with head trauma, so Joe, Julia and Jeff worked on him. Tad told Brooke Zach was responsible, but Dixie defended him. Julia summoned Jamie. Zach wondered what Dixie ever saw in Tad. Tad blasted Dixie because he saw Zach standing over JR's "lifeless body." Then Joe and Jeff revealed JR had a serious concussion. Dixie demanded to talk to Tad, so they stepped aside. "I'm sick and tired of your lies," he said. She denied lying and admitted seeing Zach. He accused her of demeaning herself. "It's cheap. You were never cheap." Then he accused her of being in love with him. Dixie snapped, "There's not a whole lot to love about you lately." He accused her of burying Greg in collusion with Zach. "I'm not perfect," she said. "I'm not the saint that you remember." He accused her of killing the road map to Kate. "You're evil, Dixie," he spat. Zach entered and she embraced him, saying she was unnerved by the look in Tad's eyes. She feared he will do something "terrible." When JR stirred, Jamie asked who beat him. "Picture... Kate... Hayward," he moaned. Jamie asked Julia to call David. When he arrived Jamie accused him of "almost killing JR." Kendall was happy to see Simone, who fretted over Kendall's emotional health, so she brought a slice of triple-layer cake with white-chocolate icing. Simone talked trash about Zach to Spike. Derek appeared and demanded to talk about Zach, because he was skeptical about the alibi witness and the idea that Zach would have casual sex with Dixie while Kendall was in her coma. Kendall professed ignorance, then asked if Derek will drop the charges. Derek couldn't comment, then left. Kendall tossed out Simone. Ryan came over and Kendall smothered him with kisses.
Tuesday, August 22, 2006 In Dixie's room, David put the pictures in a file to leave. JR appeared at the door and wrestled with David, forcing him to drop the pics. They sniped at each other until JR accused him of burying (and accidentally killing) Madden. However, after claiming he once would have done anything for Dixie, David said her betrayals left him unwilling to "swat a fly" for JR's "worthless mother." He advised JR to forget about Dixie, because she exploits everybody. But when he called her a "whore" JR attacked him and they fought. David played possum to draw a distracted, soliloquizing JR close enough to kick him in the face and left him bleeding on the bed. David smugly left with Emma's pic. Krystal interrupted Babe and Josh's flirting to remind him she's married. Josh recapped how when his life was ruined only Babe cared about him. Then he turned on the charm to apologize to Krystal for endangering Babe — while gushing and singing her praises. (Jeez, get a room!) Apparently Krystal noticed his enthusiasm, too, because she advised her daughter to fire him. Today. Meanwhile, at the park, Erica was repulsed by the very idea of Babe/Josh, but Jeff insisted Babe is his "in" with his son. Erica called Babe "a walking plague" and vowed to rid the Kane family of Babe. Meanwhile, Babe said she needs a friend, and it's okay that Josh has a crush on her. Krystal asked if Babe wants to stay with JR, because she's playing with fire by letting JR fulfill her romantic needs while Josh fulfills her emotional needs. Babe was offended by the accusation. When Krystal asked if it would be okay for JR to befriend "a busty sex kitten," Babe said yes. (Right.) Krystal warned she can't have JR and Josh at the same time. Babe threw Krystal out and Josh got all sympathetic. Krystal ran into Erica in the elevator, where they sniped over which of their smarmy, trashy kids is the villain, then issued threats. Meanwhile, Babe called JR's cell to tell him she and Josh are going to Philadelphia immediately to arrange music for a Fusion campaign. When they saw their mothers arguing, they took the stairs. Colby told Sean that Jesse McCartney (ex-JR, AMC) will play her party Sept. 7, but she has a problem: How to freeze out the losers. "I don't do problems," he sighed, before coming up with a plan. Colby left and Jonathan arrived. He told Sean to call his uncle because there's an emergency. Jack arrived to snarl at Jonathan, who told him about Terry. Jack said Lily is already afraid to leave her room because of Jonathan. Meanwhile, Sydney told Sean her b-day party is a go — for Sept. 7, with Jesse McCartney performing. She's sharing her party with "pretentious poseur" Colby, and asked his help putting the heiress in her place. Jack told Jonathan he filed papers to annul his marriage, making Jon furious. How can he destroy his own daughter's life? On his way out, Jonathan looked up at Lily's window, where she was busy IMing Terry. "Do you think the two of us could meet sometime?" he asked. Ryan, Annie and Emma arrived at the park, where David matched Emma to the picture.
Monday, August 21, 2006 Josh was advising Babe on an advertisement when Jeff arrived to tell Josh he's disappointed in him for abandoning his medical career. Babe warned Jeff about obsessing over Josh's career like Greg did. Jeff admitted he barely knows his son, but she does. She balked at sharing secrets, but he begged for insight. She said Josh is over-the-top arrogant and acting obnoxious to hide his pain and confusion. Jeff just wants him as he is, but Babe said Josh is suspicious of him. Babe pointed out she's Josh's friend, not Jeff's. Jeff asked to keep in touch. When he left, Josh returned and asked what they chatted about. As Krystal eavesdropped, Babe said Jeff wants things to work, and Josh should think about what that will take. Jeff met Erica at the park and told her Babe could be his in with Josh. David advised JR to get Dixie away from Zach, but JR figured she's better off with anyone other than David. David suggested he knows where Kate is. JR called his bluff, saying Zach had juicy information on Kate. Krystal was listening as David left, and JR fretted to her about Babe hiring Josh at Fusion. He wants her to keep Babe away from Josh. Krystal was hesitant, but agreed to do some recon. At the park, David just missed running into Annie and Emma. At Greg's death site, he wondered what clues Greg left behind. He imagined going to Dixie with news that he found Kate but, because she treated him badly, he's taking her away forever. Dixie protested that she loves only him. His reverie was interrupted by a ball — thrown by Emma. David snapped at her, and a security man appeared, demanding David's ID before Annie called him off. In her room, Dixie and Zach wondered if their alibi is working, while Kendall watched via video in Zach's office. Without sound, Kendall simply saw the pair embracing. While Dixie mooned over pictures of girls who could be Kate, Zach returned to his office, where Kendall fretted that Erica doesn't understand the scam, which is all very frustrating. They kissed. Later, Kendall used a pass key to confront Dixie, accusing her of "working like hell to make this affair with Zach the real thing." Dixie protested the alibi wasn't her idea. Kendall revealed the camera in the room. Dixie noted it's not her fault if Zach really is attracted to her. Kendall pointed out that most men are attracted to half-dressed women clawing at them. She warned Dixie that if she goes too far with Zach — if Kendall doesn't want him back — she will reveal the whole alibi scam. After Kendall left, Dixie put the pictures in a drawer and left. Meanwhile, Livia told Zach the charges are not being dropped — the fingerprints and blood are too compelling. In fact, the cops are desperate to punch holes in their alibi. Zach suggested a frame-up, but Livia insisted Derek is honest. Zach pointed out there are other cops on the force. Livia advised him not to gamble on the alibi because the odds are lousy and juries are a crapshoot. Annie returned to tell Ryan about the "jerk" in the park. Meanwhile, David broke into Dixie's room and found the pictures — including, "the girl from the park!"
