Today's episode began with fabulous black and white flashbacks of Adam and Dixie with JR (starting with the Adam/Dixie affair!), and when the screen changed to color, we saw modern-day Adam and Dixie by their unconscious son's bedside. They were relieved when he finally opened his eyes, but the first thing JR struggled to say was that he wanted Babe out of his house — without Little A. Adam assured his son he was already on it, but Dixie was reluctant and advised her ex-hubby to wait. No such luck. As Dixie went back into JR's hospital room, Adam headed to the Chandler mansion. Alone with her son, Dixie was moved when JR told her he came back because he heard Tad say that she needed her son.

At Tad and Aidan's PI office, the gents discussed how to get revenge on David. Tad advised Aidan to forget about using his gun. When Di arrived, Tad left to go back to the hospital. Di confided in Aidan that she felt guilty for all of the Martin's pain. She started all of their problems by posing as Dixie. Aidan assured her no one blamed her anymore, but Di blamed herself. She was intent on finding Kate for her sister. Aidan told her to leave David up to him. Meanwhile, on the Pine Valley beach, Jamie found Julia and they two finally discussed what went wrong with their relationship. Julia didn't think Jamie was ready for an exclusive relationship or a family, but James assured her he was. They kissed and made up (of course we mean literally), and then began to once again do what they do best — have sex.

A devastated Babe returned to the Chandler Mansion and Krystal had open arms for her baby doll. To cheer up her daughter, Krystal made sure Babe got to spend some time with Little Adam. It worked. Later, Krystal admitted that she could understand Babe's guilt more than Babe knew. She spilled the beans about her affair with Tad and told Babe that her child was Tad's, not Adam's. Babe gave her mom a comforting hug, but Adam interrupted their moment. He informed the ladies JR was awake, but every breath he took was excruciating. Then he handed Babe a court order that gave Adam temporary custody of Little A. He wanted her out of the house before JR got home. Babe reminded Adam she had papers giving her custody, but Adam claimed JR was in distress when those were signed. Krystal warned him that if he took Little A from Babe, she was walking out the door with the baby she was carrying, as well.

Later at the hospital, Dixie found Tad and thanked him for what he did. The two then shared a super-sweet moment as they discussed Kate and how they would one day find her. Tad told Dixie to get some sleep and he would sit with JR. She agreed. Once in his hospital room, Tad and JR shared a beautiful father-son moment. Tad told the boy he wasn't even supposed to be in there, since Jeff restricted visitors to JR's mom and dad. "You are my dad, too," JR tearfully said, then he told Tad how sorry he was Emma wasn't Kate. Meanwhile, as Dixie was walking to her car in the hospital parking lot, David arrived to do a little more mental damage. He told her if she wanted to give Tad his daughter so badly, to go to Krystal, since she was pregnant with his baby girl.

Tad and Jamie found David's cabin empty, but the dastardly doc did leave them a computerized message. He invited Tad into his own personal hell and was pleased with the fact that he caused Tad so much pain, since in David's eyes, the Martins were the blame for Leora's death and in return, his destruction. After the video was over, Tad sighed. He felt the weight of the world on his shoulders and blamed himself for Kate being lost forever. Jamie tried to assure his dad that it wasn't his fault. Later, Ryan arrived and told Tad what was happening with Emma. He wanted David's blood, too. Tad thought of one last person that might know where David was.

At Fusion, Babe told Bianca and Kendall she was ready to sign over her shares. Kendall was elated that Babe would no longer be a part of her company, but Bianca told Babe to reconsider. Bianca told Babe that what happened to JR wasn't her fault and she had to see that. Eventually, Kendall softened and told Babe she wasn't allowed to quit. Fusion needed her for an upcoming campaign. Babe was hesitant, but agreed. Tad arrived to question Babe about David. He held his daughter-in-law and assured her that she wasn't a bad person. Meanwhile, once alone with Kendall, Bianca told her sister how much she loved her. "Kinks" then shared many mushy moments.... Over at the ConFusion office, Erin delivered the bad news regarding Emma to Jonathan. Jon promised his sister he wouldn't do anything crazy (like, um, kidnap the kid!) and Erin left satisfied. However, Amanda saw right through Jon and tried her best to convince him not to. He would be destroying his future.

At the hospital, a frantic Annie arrived demanding a DNA test. She explained that she thought she was a chimera and Jeff agreed to run a test. Meanwhile, Ryan summoned Jack to the hospital. Since Jack played a part in causing this, he was going to help Annie out now. Back in the exam room, Julia apologized to Annie and explained she was the person who gave Tad the DNA test proving Annie and Emma didn't share DNA. Annie chastised Julia, who felt dreadful about what she did. Later, Julia broke down in tears. When Jamie walked in, he wrapped his arms comfortingly around her, but she asked him to stop. Meanwhile, Jackson told Ryan and Annie that unfortunately Emma would have to stay with a foster family for the night. Annie broke down in tears, but Ryan assured her everything would be okay.

In JR's hospital room, Adam and Babe were thrown out as the young Chandler crashed. The family gathered outside to once again await news on JR's fate. Things look awfully grim, but Jeff allowed Tad to speak to his son. As Tad went on and on about how much Dixie needed JR to be okay, especially since Emma wasn't Kate, JR's vitals miraculously improved. Tad and Jeff told the happy news to the family. They were elated, but Adam then banned Babe from the hospital. Palmer (Yay! Uncle Palmer sighting!) arrived to support Adam's request. Babe, already feeling guilty for JR's bad turn, left. Later, Tad and Jamie headed to David's cabin to give him a piece of their minds (and most likely their fists), but they were surprised to find the cabin completely deserted.

At Fusion, Josh told Kendall and Bianca he was through with Babe forever. As Kendall went on to trash Babe, Binks noticed something in her brother's eyes and pulled him away to have a one-on-one. Where else did they go but the Fusion rooftop. (Plenty of memories there for Josh!) Bianca told Josh he could tell he wasn't truly over Babe. When Josh lashed out at her, stating how she couldn't even face her own problems, Bianca started to walk away. But Josh stopped her, and claimed she had a special way of getting through to him. Bianca smiled, told him not to give up on Babe and then left him alone to think. Meanwhile, downstairs, Kendall plotted to have Babe fired, but Simone and Dani stood up for Babe. Later, Babe arrived completely distraught and sat down at her desk. Kendall didn't say a word.

Annie and Ryan didn't have long to rejoice in the fact that Tad and Dixie weren't Emma's parents — the Department of Family Services arrived to take Emma from Annie, since their DNA didn't match. Ryan tried to explain the possibility of a chimera, but regardless, they were putting the child in protective custody....Meanwhile, at Dixie's hotel room, Dixie was stunned as David explained he knew Emma wasn't Kate the entire time. He claimed he wanted her to hurt as bad as she made him hurt by not choosing him. "You're not even human!" Dixie railed. If he wanted to hurt her, fine, but Dixie stated David should never have brought JR, Tad and Jamie into it. David wickedly laughed and said he blamed the Martins for Leora's death and JR and Jamie hurt Babe one too many times. When he said the best thing JR ever did was jump out that window, Dixie put her tears away and her maternal claws came out. She yelled that she wanted to kill him and attacked David. "I'm already dead, thanks to you!!" David yelled back. David then got news from the hospital that JR had taken a turn for the worse. He laughed and told Dixie the news. The heartbroken mother fled back to the hospital. When she arrived, Tad assured her JR was doing better and Dixie went straight to her son's bedside. (Warning: Grab a tissue!!) Dixie pledged her love to JR and began to sing their special song, "You Are My Sunshine." While Dixie was singing the words, "Please don't take my sunshine away..." a crying 4-year-old Emma was being torn from Annie's arms. Once her baby was gone, Annie broke down in Ryan's waiting arms.

At the hospital, Adam convinced Krystal to go home and get some sleep by promising to reach out to Babe and bring their family back together. Krystal, for some strange reason, believed him....In JR's room, Jamie was furious when he found Babe by JR's bedside and pulled her out so Colby could have a moment alone with her brother. Pine Valley's No. 1 Teen Brat turned human (for a brief second) and cried over her brother's broken body, pledging her love. Meanwhile, out in the hall Jamie berated Babe for sleeping with Josh. Colby (who morphed back into No. 1 Teen Brat) ran out of the room and joined in on the lashing. "You did this!" she railed. "You should be in there, not JR." Babe stated she could take Colby's ridicule, but not Jamie's. She was shocked when Adam came to her defense and told Jamie to leave her alone. "Since when do you defend me?" Babe wondered, once she and Adam were alone. Adam explained he wanted what was best for his son, but in order for Babe to help JR, she needed to leave town — but leave Little A behind. Babe wasn't that stupid and told Adam he knew what he was doing. She wasn't going anywhere. Meanwhile, Colby took Krystal home where she explained how she just wanted JR and Adam to love her. Krystal comforted her stepdaughter. Back at the hospital, Babe went to sit by JR again, but this time he opened his eyes. When he saw his cheating wife, his heart monitor went crazy.

In the park, Amanda smacked Josh with a switch (sadly, your eyes didn't just deceive you). She first lashed out at him for "hurting" JR, then when she discovered JR jumped and wasn't pushed, she lashed out again, this time because Josh left Babe with that maniac. (Some guys just can't win, huh?) Jamie arrived and told Amanda he'd take care of Josh. JR's little brother had nothing but harsh words for the unaborted fetus. He warned Josh to stay away from Babe, because she still loved JR.

As Dixie, Tad, Ryan and Annie all waited on the DNA results, Tad dropped the bombshell that if Emma was Kate, he intended to have a place in the little girl's life. Annie was livid and claimed again she was Emma's mother. She mentioned she may be a chimera, but that was a moot point once the results came in. Tad had to sadly tell Dixie that Emma was not Kate. Dixie was obviously numb with pain and told her ex-husband she needed to be alone. Meanwhile, Annie was understandably relieved. She celebrated by embracing Ryan and planting a sloppy wet one...on his cheek. Tad jetted off to the hospital in search of David, who he planned to kill. Meanwhile, Dix returned to her hotel room. Hearts broke as she went through old birthday and Christmas presents she had bought Kate. Suddenly she heard her name, and when she looked up, David was smiling down at her.

At the hospital, everyone was still anxiously awaiting news on JR's condition. Di comforted Tad after an awful daydream and then gave Dixie some sisterly support. Later, Kendall told Tad he was getting the pain he deserved. (Harsh!) She was still upset that Tad lied to her about Dixie and Zach burying Madden. It obviously got to Tad who apologized and he admitted he didn't even know who he was anymore. Meanwhile, Jeff gave Tad some advice about JR. Tad took it to heart and pulled his ex-wife aside. He told Dixie that JR was obviously an alcoholic and needed more help than they could give him. Tad suggested an in-patient rehab program. Dixie was obviously torn and stated she couldn't make a decision about that right now. Dixie then ran into David who assured Dixie everything would be okay. She'd be getting "all the happiness you deserve."

Julia was shocked by Jamie's declaration that he wanted her back. She sadly turned him down, stating it wouldn't work out. Elsewhere, Kendall tried to assure her little sister she did the right thing by leaving Maggie and Paris and suggested Binks forget all about Mags. Bianca tearfully told Kendall that she couldn't forget Maggie. She loved her too much, and "when you love someone, you can forgive the unforgivable." The glint in Kendall's eye made it clear she could understand that.

Krystal walked in on Adam's phone call to Barry, but she remained in the dark about his legal inquiries. However, she did beg Adam to promise her he wouldn't go after Babe. Instead, Adam left to go check on his son. A lurking David made sure Krystal wasn't alone for good. He was rejoicing in the fact that Babe would be away from JR forever now. Krystal was disgusted and told him he was a "disease." Meanwhile, an emotionally strained Babe lashed out at Josh and ordered him to leave. "You can hate me all you want, Babe, but I am not leaving you," he replied. When Babe found out Josh was with JR after the accident, her mind jumped the wrong conclusion. Binks walked in just in time to set the record straight. Babe was obviously touched when Bianca revealed that Josh saved JR's life, but didn't have a chance to express her gratitude because Di arrived and stated that JR was finally out of surgery.

Everyone gathered together as the doc informed them JR was still alive, but not out of the woods yet. Kendall warned Adam never to hurt her brother again, while Josh once again went after Babe. She thanked Josh for saving JR's life and then snuck into her broken husband's room to sit by his bedside. Meanwhile, Tad and Dixie received word that Emma's DNA test results were in and rushed off to find Ryan and Annie.

Erica and Jack's martial problems continued when she refused to go home. Brooke walked up and the conversation turned fabulously catty. "You smelled bachelor blood and as usual came running like a dog to my scrap table," Erica barked. Once La Kane had returned to her hotel, Brooke confessed to Jack she was attracted to Erica's men. "You got a thing for Jeff Martin, do you?" Jack asked. She chuckled, said "No," and walked away. Over at the hotel, Erica admitted to Jeff she wanted him to kiss her, but she needed to work on her marriage.
