In Luther's Corners, Alison checked her grades online and was thrilled to learn she got a B+ on her last chemistry exam. Minutes later, Aaron strolled in and shared in her joy. Following a victory hug, Aaron inquired if Alison loves him, she said that of course she does. Good, he noted, because it might make a difference in the menu. Aaron made her a sandwich and instructed her to apply her own mustard. When she pulled apart the bread, Alison discovered a Marquis-cut diamond ring. As Alison stood by dumbfounded with a steak knife dripping with mustard, Aaron plopped down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Alison confessed that she doesn't know if she is ready for marriage, and doesn't feel like the time is right for her. Disappointed, Aaron suggested she sport the sparkler and see how she feels.

At Memorial, Dani asked Chris to "hook her up with some dead people." So he did just that and took her down to the morgue, where a tech handed her a binder full of cases. "I am like a kid in a candy store," Dani giggled. Ever the eager beaver, the criminologist asked if she could stay and watch an autopsy be conducted, but fainted at her first glimpse of the corpse. When she woke up Chris made her feel better and detailed how he blew chunks when he first saw a dead body. Dani asked him to lunch, but he had to finish his rounds. Susan accosted Chris in the hallway and told him about Alison's high test score and mentioned that according to Aaron, Alison has something to show her.

Lily brought her girls to Fashions to get some new duds for school. When she entered, Lisa repeatedly insisted it was not a good time and begged her to come back later. Lily was confused until she spotted Carly walk out of a dressing room. Lisa said she heard about the car crash and did not want another incident because after all, "It's hard to get blood out of silk." After agreeing to let Sage stay over at her house, Lily let Carly know that she and Holden are now legally separated and she can have him. Flabbergasted, Carly was speechless and Lisa voiced her disbelief. Lily left and Carly decided to buy a beaded white frock.

As Holden sat in the Lakeview lounge, Mike walked in and Holden cancelled his lunch in a huff. Mike tried to talk to him, but Holden refused. Holden said his marriage is over and Mike pointed out that he has no reason to object to his romance then. Holden concurred, but said he doesn't have to like it.... Lily and Mike set up a date over the phone and as soon as Lily hung up Faith began haranguing her.

Back in Milltown, Carly rang Holden and filled him in on what Lily said in the store. Holden proclaimed that he was insulted, and that if and when they decide to be together it won't be because Lily said it was okay. Carly invited him on a date and met him at the Lakeview in her new white dress. During dinner they made awkward conversation and Holden revealed that Faith has been bugging him to take her to the Magic Land Amusement Park. A short time later, they retreated to Holden's room, where Carly realized there is no heat between them without secrecy and guilt. With that, Carly decided to "cut her losses" and headed home.

Mike went to Lily's and Faith booked it upstairs when he walked in the door. He decided to take the girls to Magic Land Amusement Park. Suspicious, Faith wanted to know if Mike was trying to buy her off. At the fun park, the kids were off having a good time and Mike admitted that if he won he kids over, it would make it easier for him to spend time with Lily. The rest of the day went swimmingly with Mike winning stuffed animals for the children.

As Carly dug into a gallon of ice cream at her house, Holden popped up and they quickly got it on. While basking in their post-coital glow, they scarfed down ice cream on the floor, naked. Sage walked in seconds later and Holden was forced to hide in the closet and listen to the youngster rave about how fabulous Mike is.

At the hospital, Chris ran into Alison and offered congratulations. Alison initially thought he knew about Aaron popping the question and tried to cover, but when he recited her grade, she hid her hand. Chris noticed her bizarre behavior and attempted to exam her extremity. She jumped down his throat and followed him out to apologize, but Dani interrupted them and took Chris to Lunch. Aaron cornered Susan in a room and brought her over to her daughter, "Is that what I think it is?" she gasped. Alison said yes, and Susan was elated, but was called away.
