Dusty and Lucy smuggled Johnny into Memorial through the stairwell. Nearby, Craig snarkily praised Ali and Katie for their nobility. When a nurse interrupted mentioning Katie's "procedure," Craig's Spidey senses went off. "You're the donor," he accused. Katie lied and said it was just a physical while Ali smuggled Dusty, Lucy and Johnny into an exam room. Ali then rushed over to waylay Craig. She and Katie harassed him to get his blood tested and he relented, as long as Katie stopped treating him like an enemy. "Alright Vampira... Drill, Baby drill," he cracked to Ali, who hauled him off down the hall. Then, Lusty and Johnny snuck across to Katie. Lucy informed Katie that the donation procedure would have to be today and freaked when she wanted to tell Brad. Katie reminded Lucy of her medical history and Dusty warned Lucy to stop pressuring her. Brad showed up at the hospital and boggled at what Katie wanted to do: "One transplant in one lifetime is enough!" Katie swore nothing would happen to her. Meanwhile, Ali kept trying to stall Craig, who didn't buy it. Then it was Brad's turn to try and stall him. "It's a woman thing," he claimed of Katie's procedure, offering to take Craig to lunch. Once Craig was gone, Katie wondered if keeping him in the dark was fair. Lucy insisted it's what she wants. She then hugged Ali, urging her to leave before she got in the legal trouble that's headed Lucy's way. At the Lakeview, Brad's friendly façade fell away and he warned Craig to stay away from Katie. Johnny was taken for the procedure and Dusty asked Lucy how she'd pulled this whole thing off. They argued, with Dusty insisting he'd take Johnny out of town — alone. Lucy asked to go with him. For Johnny's sake. When Dusty begrudgingly agreed, she hugged him. Later, they talked over options with Johnny's doctor and Dusty suggested they take Johnny and Katie to Chicago before Craig caught wind. He shared the plan with a wary Katie. Later, Dusty blew off a call from Josie, leading to a chat with Lucy about her resemblance to Jen. "There's no going back," Dusty growled about several things. Back at Memorial, Brad realized Katie was thinking of telling Craig the truth. Later, Dusty and "Lulu" told Johnny they were going to Chicago and Katie made a beeline to Craig. "I know where Johnny is," she said.

Henry signed books at Al's as Vienna and Maddie manned the donut and coffee station. Casey peered in at Maddie from the window, and V. dragged him inside. Talk about awkward! Also awkward? Henry and Vienna's sales prospects. Henry asked Vienna to help him with a reading of THE MAN FROM OAKDALE, as the love scene in the first chapter was "pretty close to the truth." As they began reading, Maddie rushed outside and Casey followed, insisting he hadn't been in bed with Alison. "She was coming on to me," he claimed. Maddie was less than reassured, and Casey admitted he doesn't know whether he has feelings for Ali or not. Besides, Maddie deserved better than him. Maddie said "better" was what he needed to figure out how to be. Inside, Henry and Vienna's passionate reading definitely boosted sales. Maddie then told Henry that she and Casey were done once and for all, earning a hug from her big bro. Casey found Ali in the park and asked her what NYE had been about. She couldn't, and apologized for screwing up him and Maddie. Casey didn't mind so much. He was just sorry for hurting Maddie. Ali accused him of bailing on her and walked off to find Maddie and fix things. "You totally have the wrong idea," she insisted. "There is nothing between us!" Maddie informed a shocked Ali that Casey has a thing for her — just as Casey walked up. Alone, Casey apologized to a skittish Ali, pretending he wasn't disappointed by her reaction.
