Brad looked forward to whiling away some Liberty-free hours with lovin' only to find Katie upset about getting her period. He wondered why she was so bummed about not getting pregnant when they weren't expecting to be and assured her it would happen soon enough. He offered to cheer Katie up with Al's apple pie a la mode. He ran to get it while Margo kept Katie company. Too bad Katie ran off to see a fertility specialist. Henry, meanwhile, was having trouble finding Vienna and dumped out a bag full of pregnancy tests for her to take. Brad showed up and Henry told him he'd caught V. punching holes in condoms. The light dawned and Brad realized Katie hadn't been using her "thingy." They rushed home, finding Katie off at a mystery appointment. And, sure enough, Katie's diaphragm case was empty. Brad and Henry tried to figure out what to do. Henry said he'd been toying with the idea of a vasectomy. "The only safe sex is no sex," he pointed out. At Memorial, Margo tried to talk sense into Katie. To no avail. Brad accompanied Henry to get vasectomy info and, naturally ran into Margo and Katie. Katie covered; Margo didn't like being part of the lie. Back home, Brad admitted to Katie he'd gone looking for her diaphragm. Was she doing the same thing as Vienna? Katie lied that she'd tossed out her diaphragm because she's getting a new one and he apologized for mistrusting her.

At the farm, Dusty offered to take care of Meg so she didn't have to work. She turned him down. Teasing ensued. She also assured Dusty that though she loves Paul, she's not going back to him. So, she'd go back to work and stay at the farm. She put Dusty on bottle warming duty and he accepted some papers messengered over for her. He took the papers with him when he left. At Fairwinds, Paul went off on Josie for leaving him free to ruin Meg and Eliza's lives. Josie said he had "so much to offer" Eliza, and Meg needed to learn to trust him again. "Meg knows something that you don't know, Josie. I'm not gonna change," Paul told her. As she kept insisting he was a good person, he yanked her into a kiss. "Still think I'm a good person?" he taunted. Josie got all maudlin about her choices and Paul commiserated with her. "Be the man that Meg and Eliza need you to be," she urged...as Dusty walked in. Dusty blasted Paul for signing over all his assets to Meg. Paul shot back that Dusty wanted to be Meg's savior and, "She turned YOU down. You just can't take it." Dusty reiterated to Paul that Meg wants nothing to do with him and walked out. Josie followed and assured him she has no romantic feelings for Paul but that Paul's trying to change. Alone with Josie, Paul went off about Meg sending "that guy" to deliver her message. Fed up, Josie left. Paul made a beeline to Meg to yell at her. Meg was clueless! What papers? Paul realized his error, apologized, and asked her to accept his assets. Meg turned him down, saying he could start a trust for Eliza for when she turned 21, but she wanted to be like Emma and do things on her own. All the yelling woke Eliza up and Meg let Paul hold her. (Support her head, Paul!) At the Lakeview, Josie told Dusty she's not sorry she met him and she's leaving for good. He apologized for the way things turned out and she urged him to find himself and "make that guy happy." Regretful Meg set boundaries for Paul and he handed Eliza back to her. They sadly parted ways.
