Paul called Meg and admitted he still cares for her but didn't want to see her humiliated. He then suggested she check out "Lucy Montgomery's cozy hotel suite" to find Dusty, but Meg hung up on him. However, Paul was confident that he had piqued her interest.

At Lucy's hotel room, Dusty had second thoughts about helping her deceive Paul. Lucy worried when Dusty called Paul and said he was on his way over to see him. Dusty promised Lucy that after today, Paul will "never bother you again." After Dusty left, Meg showed up and Lucy explained that Dusty left to go after Paul. Meg demanded to know what's going on, but Lucy insisted she couldn't say any more.

As Carly prepared for her date with Craig, Sage assured that she was okay with her mom seeing other people. Sage left for her sleepover at a friend's house and Craig showed up with flowers. Carly announced she couldn't date him right now because she wasn't ready for that so Craig offered to buy her a drink.

Dusty showed up at Paul's place, where the housekeeper said her boss was at the Snyder farm. Meanwhile, Paul arrived at the farm and sent the babysitter on her way. Dusty arrived and ordered Paul to stay away from Lucy. Paul threatened to tattle to Craig, so Dusty slugged him. "Is that all you got?" Paul taunted and Dusty beat him up. After Dusty left, Paul lit a fire in the kitchen, then pretend to be lying unconscious on the ground outside. When the social worker showed up (Paul had summoned her on the pretense that he wanted her present so he could give a gift to Eliza), Paul claimed that Dusty attacked him. Smoke came from out of the kitchen and Paul pretended to save Eliza. After the fire on the stove was out, Paul said he didn't know why Meg would leave her baby alone. Meg appeared and Paul lied that there was no babysitter. The social worker decided that Eliza would be safer with her father and Paul walked off with Eliza in his arms.

Jack and Janet were playing pool at Yo's when Craig and Carly showed up. The foursome tried to get along but Jack got worried when a drunken Carly tripped while she was dancing. Jack voiced his concern, but Craig called it a night and ushered Carly out. Janet assured Jack that Carly was merely stressed out but he wasn't convinced. Back at Carly's house, she poured drinks for her and Craig. Now thoroughly soused, Carly gave in to Craig's amorous advances and they went upstairs.

Dusty returned to Lucy's suite, where Meg soon showed up. After Lucy left, Meg blasted Dusty for falling into Paul's trap because now Eliza has been taken Away from her. Dusty promised to get her back, but Meg yelled for him to stay away and stormed out.
