At the hospital, Meg and Paul were relieved when Eliza's fever broke. Paul promised to hire a nurse to oversee his daughter's recovery but Meg insisted that she will do the the job. Paul agreed as long as it's at his house. Eliza was released and her parents took her back to Paul's place. There, Meg tried to cozy up to Paul, who continued to be indifferent to her. When Meg fell asleep on the sofa, Paul couldn't help but kiss her cheek. When he left the room, Meg opened her eyes, pleased that her little ploy had worked. Later, Paul suggested she stay but "it doesn't change anything for us." Meg agreed and left to pack a few things.

Craig asked Lucy to watch Johnny overnight while he goes to New York on business, to which she immediately agreed. After Craig left, Dusty showed up and apologized for getting mad and Lucy revealed that Eliza was admitted in the hospital for pneumonia but she was doing better. Lucy explained that Dusty may still have a chance with Meg. After Dusty left, Lucy got a call about an outgoing shipment.

Craig arrived at the Snyder farm to pick up Liberty. He assured Jack that Liberty will be safe in New York, which Jack wasn't assured by. It didn't help when Craig pointed out that the kids were letting him in and shutting out Jack.

As Carly got ready to leave for New York, Parker worried that Liberty may never want to come back to Oakdale. Craig showed up with Liberty, who smooched Parker goodbye then excitedly left with Craig and Carly. Parker went to his baseball tryouts, where Jack was waiting to wish him luck. Parker was touched by the support, then Margo called Jack and asked him to check out the docks. When he got there, he was surprised to run into Lucy. Jack shared that there's a smuggling operation he's checking on while Lucy fibbed that she's just taking a walk.

In New York, Carly and Craig delivered Liberty to her interview appointment. She later emerged with Colin, the head of the internship program, and announced she got a job. Colin explained that Liberty would have to live in a dorm and Liberty told Craig and Carly she didn't want to move to New York without Parker. The adults ganged up to advise Liberty not to pass up this opportunity. She called Parker and shared her good news as well as the dorm situation. Parker wasn't happy with that development but Liberty hung up when Colin invited her to a party. After he promised to have Liberty back to the hotel at a decent hour, Carly said it was okay. Liberty took off, leaving Craig and Carly alone to kiss. Meanwhile, Parker asked Jack to get him a plane ticket to New York.

Meg encountered Dusty at the Snyder farm, where she told him she didn't need his help. He worried that Paul would figure out that Meg was playing him but she assured she can do the job. Dusty finally left and went back to the Hotel, where he encountered Lucy. He revealed that Meg is moving back in with Paul. A depressed Dusty went back to his room and Lucy soon showed up with Johnny, who lifted his daddy's spirits.

Meg returned to Paul's house where she and Paul briefly bonded over Eliza.
