Outside of Brad's funeral, Jack was surprised to see Carly, who said she's there to show her support to the Snyder family. She urged Jack to go inside and see the service before it's over. She mentioned that Rosanna told her what happened with Brad's shooting and did her best to console guilt-ridden Jack, who said he can't stay in Oakdale after what he did. He told her that he's glad she's back and that she's sober.

Meanwhile, in the church, Rosanna and Craig felt bad about saying they love each other at Brad's funeral and admitted they're afraid of Carly's reaction. Craig assured her it'll be okay; she wasn't so certain. Margo advised the duo to go to Katie's for the wake, adding that she can't do anything until she finds Katie. Katie, meanwhile, was praying alone at the church and broke down in tears, saying she doesn't know if she can raise a child alone. Brad's ghost told her he wants to name their baby after Jack and urged her to be strong. He reached out to touch her, but couldn't. Then he implored her to trust that he's by her side. Later, Henry demanded Brad stop haunting him and surmised it's just a figment of his guilty conscience. Brad was frustrated he couldn't communicate with Katie and said he's going to stick around until he figures out how.

Jack reluctantly followed Carly inside the church and got emotional. She asked him why he came to visit her in rehab but changed his mind. He explained that Liberty was in trouble. Later, Jack admitted to Margo that he was drinking when he accidentally shot his brother. He turned in his gun and badge and left.

Liberty went to see Katie, who helped the struggling teen deal with her grief over Brad's death. Lib was angry at Jack for shooting her dad; Margo entered and reminded her that it was an accident. Meanwhile, Janet was worried over Jack's disappearance at the funeral and shocked when he later showed up at home and explained that he saw Carly outside the church. She told him he did the right thing by not telling her about Craig and Rosanna's affair.

Liberty continued to mourn Brad's death and lashed out at a confused Parker. Janet urged her to drop the subject but she wouldn't. She spilled the beans that Jack was drunk when he shot Brad; Parker refused to believe her and stormed out. Janet consoled Lib and told her it was okay to grieve.

Carly went to see Craig and they shared an awkward reunion, as Rosanna watched. Carly informed Craig that she knows they got engaged under false circumstances and gave back her ring. Craig believed she was going to break up with him — until she explained that thinking about their relationship and his support is the only thing that got her through rehab and she can't wait to accept his proposal properly (and soberly) and be the wife he deserves. Just then, Parker arrived and was stunned to see his mom so happy. He was also surprised to learn that Ro and Craig hadn't told her about their affair.

After Margo left, Katie was at home reading a book alone. Brad showed up and was desperate to reach out to her. He walked through the front door; she could sense Brad's presence. Henry stopped by to try and apologize but Katie still blamed him for Brad's death and kicked him out. Brad was miffed because it meant he got kicked out, too. Brad explained to Henry that he's not ready to cross over. "I can't touch anyone and I can't even have a damn beer. As far as I'm concerned, eternity sucks!" he cracked. He begged Henry to help him find a way to be with Katie, adding that Henry owes him. Meanwhile, Jack paid Katie a visit and apologized for missing the funeral. He then admitted to her that he was drinking when he accident happened. Katie was sympathetic and urged Jack not to blame himself. When Jack returned home, he left a note for Janet and explained that he's leaving town for a while and promised her that it has nothing to do with her.

Katie sniffed Brad's clothes and was desperate to feel his presence again. Meanwhile, Jack hit the road.
