Noah was on the set of his movie, rigging some fireworks to explode for a stunt and told Luke he's too busy to talk. They started bickering and the fireworks went off in Noah's face, causing him to fall backwards off a ladder. Luke freaked out and rushed to his aid. Noah was knocked out cold and his eyes severely damaged. Holden showed up just as the ambulance arrived to take Noah to the hospital.

Teri came to the farm to bring some food for grieving Liberty. Janet was cold to her sis and they traded barbs about the Ralph situation. Meanwhile, Lib went to Yo's and ordered a drink, but got caught using a fake ID. The bartender was about to call the cops when Dusty walked in and covered for her. She admitted she's stressed out about what to write for her college essay and just needed to unwind. He offered to take her home. They returned to the farm where Janet was angry at Liberty for being so irresponsible. Lib apologized and excused herself. Dusty, meanwhile, consoled Janet, who said her life is broken. They hugged. Dusty asked about Jack; Janet got emotional when she said he's not back yet but she understands that he's going through some stuff right now. Dusty offered his support; Janet was touched. After Dusty departed, Janet found Lib finally writing her essay about being pregnant and the tough choices she had to make as well as Brad's death. She read it aloud to Janet and they both broke down in tears. Janet was surprised to hear that Dusty's speech inspired Janet.

Meg overheard Damian reaffirm his love for Lily as she asked him to move back into her house. He wasn't sure the kids would be into it, especially now that Holden is back, but she assured him that it would be okay. She left and Holden called with the news about Noah. Meanwhile, Meg approached Damian, who was nervous that Lily might have seen her. She brought up Officer Grady again and told Damian they need to figure out their situation. Then Lily returned to tell Damian about Noah; Meg hid.

At Memorial, Mason railed at Luke and blamed him for causing Noah's accident and getting him fired. Luke punched him just as Damian arrived and demanded Mason back off. Luke was outraged at Mason and admitted he secretly hoped Damian would use the tape to get Mason fired. A doctor approached and informed Luke that Noah needs risky surgery to prevent swelling in his brain that could render him blind, but he needs consent from a relative. Damian gave the doc the go-ahead but it wasn't enough. Luke was miffed that he couldn't give consent as Noah's partner. Damian was annoyed when Meg showed up. She claimed she's just there covering a nurses shift but warned him that moving back in with Lily is a huge mistake and continued her veiled threats about Officer Grady and the DNA evidence. Meanwhile, Holden caught Lily up on the situation and thanked him for calling her. Holden blamed Damian for Noah's situation, adding that he got Mason fired for inappropriate conduct. She was stunned.

At the Lakeview, Dusty opened up a subpoena to testify at Ralph's trial. Teri said she got one, too, and gave him the pizza casserole intended for Lib. She apologized for being mean to him before. He thanked her for the gesture and they flirted. They sat down together to nosh on the casserole and Dusty started itching, explaining that he's allergic to fennel. He went into anaphylactic shock; Teri gave him a shot so he could breathe.

Luke called Noah's aunt and left a message. Back at the hospital, Holden and Damian fought about interfering in Luke and Noah's lives. Luke felt helpless in the situation and explained he still can't get in touch with Noah's family. Luke was finally allowed to see his boyfriend and apologized for everything that's happened. He told Noah that he loves him and begged him to get better. After he left the room, Mason returned and threatened to sue Luke for breaking his nose. Luke fought back; Mason stormed out in a huff. Damian suggested to Lily that they adopt Noah and give consent for his surgery.
