ATWT Recaps Week Of Feb. 6, 2006

Nick was at the strip club and looking for Carly. Meanwhile, Carly was at home and insisting that Jack go into work (so she could go to the strip club). Jack wondered what was going on, and she said she doesn't want to be the reason he loses another job. Jack told her that she has to stop feeling guilty about it and she finally sweet-talked him into going to work. Jack took off and Carly called a neighbor to watch the kids. Carly showed up for work and blasted Nick for returning her bracelet at her house earlier that day. Chardonnay told Carly that Nick had been asking about her. Carly got a call from the neighbor, who said that her son had a fever so she couldn't take care of Carly's kids. Carly said she would come home and asked Chardonnay to cover for her with the manager. Nick saw Carly leave, but then she came back in when she had car problems. Carly told him she had to get home and Nick offered her a ride but she told him no way. Carly couldn't wait for a cab and took Nick up on his offer but not before he made her apologize for being mean to him earlier. Outside the Snyders', Nick was wiping off Carly's makeup as Jack opened up the door.

At Java, Casey pressed Maddie to tell him who all the food was for and apologized for being a jerk earlier. Maddie said she was going on a picnic with Nate — and then Nate showed up. Casey was suspicious when he realized Maddie wasn't meeting Nate for a date, and Nate was confused too as he thought Maddie didn't want to see him anymore. Casey went back inside and Maddie sent Nate away. At Metro, Will wondered what was taking Maddie so long to get food, and was freaking out about their situation. Gwen calmed him down with a kiss and said she trusted Maddie. They heard a noise and Will went to check it out but it was just Maddie with supplies. Will thought they weren't safe there and wanted to leave. Guess he changed his mind, because he and Gwen threw down some blankets to sleep on. Back outside Java, Maddie had a daydream of helping Gwen and Will and being arrested by Margo, until Casey came in and saved the day. Casey brought her back to reality when he showed up and asked her where her date was. Maddie called Casey on being jealous. Margo arrived and wanted to know what Maddie knew about Gwen and Will. Maddie said she was up on the roof that Gwen and Will frequent and she found bus departures circled on a schedule and evidence that they had been there. Margo went off to follow up. Casey wondered what was up, but Maddie just said she was doing the right thing.

At Java, Mike met up with Katie, who was busy with wedding preparations. He then dropped the bombshell that they won't be getting married in April. Mike said he has to leave town right away because his brother Mark needs help on a development project in Latvia. Mike told her it was a way to make money for the wedding and reassured her that the wedding was going to happen. Katie relented — then said she was going with him. Mike told her he was going to be working, so she should stay in Oakdale. Mike then knocked over a bride and groom cake topper, and the groom's head broke off. Katie feared they had jinxed themselves, but Mike promised her they would have a beautiful wedding. Katie lamented being in their house alone — then Mike told her that Nick would be in the house to keep her company.

Back at the Wagon Wheel, a disguised Paul panicked when Margo and the Oakdale PD knocked on the door. The manager tried to stop her but Paul was forced to open the door because they were searching for Will and Gwen. When shown their pictures, Paul said he hadn't seen them. Paul coughed and Margo offered to take him to the hospital to see Dr. Bob. Paul told her he was okay and she left. Maddie called Margo about Gwen and Will, and Paul overheard Margo taking the call in the hallway.

Jennifer invited Madame Lacoste into her room and asked her what she meant when she said her grief for her brother was misguided. Madame Lacoste said she needed to make peace with her brother — and that it wasn't too late and she could help her. Dusty showed up and while he went into the other room, Madame Lacoste gave Jennifer her card and Jennifer realized she was a psychic and told her to go. Dusty came back out with Johnny and realized something was wrong. Jennifer wished she had a second chance to make things right with Paul. Dusty said she shouldn't feel guilty and he won't let Paul keep them apart. Jennifer then had a nightmare that Paul showed up and needed to hear that Jennifer forgave him. Jennifer didn't know if she could so Paul pulled out a gun and shot himself. Jennifer awoke and was shaken, so she dug the psychic's number out of the garbage. Dusty wondered what was wrong and Jen hid the number and said she had a headache. He left to get her some aspirin and she called Madame Lacoste and invited her to come back over. Lacoste then hung up the phone and it was revealed she was with Paul. She told him that Jennifer had taken the bait.

Carly got called in to work at the strip club as Jack walked through the door. He told her that the cops are looking for Gwen. Carly realized that Gwen couldn't come to her because of Jack and wanted to go look for her. Carly feared something bad could happen to Gwen and Will while they're on the run. Jack got called away and he made her promise she wouldn't go looking for Gwen. Barbara showed up and they argued over Gwen, and over Jack's protection of Carly costing him his job. Barbara's digs about Carly ruining Jack's life clearly affected Carly. Carly said she would help Jack and then screamed at Barbara to leave. Jack showed up and told Barbara to go. Carly realized she couldn't help Gwen, but could help Jack and vowed to be a better wife to him. Jack went to make a few calls and Carly pulled out her waitressing outfit and called the strip club, saying that she would work tonight. Jack came back in and mentioned staying home for the night, but Carly said he couldn't do that.

On the roof, Will and Gwen tried to convince Maddie not to call the cops. Will admitted that he was the one who pushed Barbara, not Gwen. They explained their rocky history with Barbara and told them how Barbara fell. They insisted that Barbara is lying about Gwen attacking her and asked Maddie for help. Maddie agreed and told them she had an idea of where they could go. She took them to Metro, which has been closed for renovations. Will broke through the chains on the door and hoped the alarm wouldn't go off. The alarm did go off but Will remembered the code from when his friends worked there. Maddie said she'd bring them some food and took off. Will worried that Casey would find out that Maddie is helping them. Meanwhile, Henry overheard Maddie ordering a bunch of food at Java and wondered if she had an eating disorder. Maddie covered and he took off, but then she ran into Casey, who asked her where she was headed with all the food.

Emily found Henry at Java and Henry said he needed some of his money but Emily refused. Emily insisted to Henry that Paul was alive and close, and Henry was still on the hook for helping her find him. She was right — a disguised Paul checked into the Wagon Wheel hotel. The manager showed him around and Paul told him that he didn't want to be disturbed. Emma arrived at Java and Emily told her that she wanted to find Meg to apologize to her. Emma revealed that Meg was in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and Emily pressed Emma for the name of the hotel where Meg was staying, but Emma didn't have it and took off. Henry called hotels in Puerto Vallarta to see if Meg was really there and finally found the one she was staying at. Henry left Meg a vague message about coming back to Oakdale immediately.

While the WOAK workers set up for Jennifer's on-air appeal at the Lakeview, Kim told Barbara that she needed to drop the charges against Gwen so Will would come home. Jennifer said Kim was right but Barbara refused. Jennifer taped her appeal and begged Will to come home. Paul saw Jennifer on TV and called someone, saying they needed to speed up their plan. After the broadcast, Kim told Jennifer they had received a couple calls, but no leads yet. Barbara returned and Jennifer asked her where she went. Barbara was confident Will would come home and went to lay down. Jennifer went to run errands and ran into a woman who had some visions about her brother...the older brother. She said her grief was misguided.

Jack came home from work and found a bag with Carly's skimpy stripper outfit in it. Carly covered by saying it was a sexy surprise for him. Jack shared his frustration with his security job at WOAK and went upstairs. Carly answered the door to Nick. Jack wondered what he was doing there and Nick mentioned he saw Carly last night. Nick said that he had told Carly to tell Jack that he had made progress on the case that they are working on. Jack went upstairs to shower and change, and Nick told Carly that he won't tell Jack that she's working at the strip club. Nick said the real reason he was there is because he is crazy about Jack's wife. Carly replied that she is a happily married woman. Nick then returned the bracelet she dropped at the club the night before. Nick took off, Jack came back downstairs and thanked Carly for her loyalty to him.

Holden found Lily looking at Jade's birth certificate and a photo of Rose. Lily wondered if Jade was abusing Rose's memory. A rested Jade came into the room and raved about the accommodations and said she looked forward to meeting her other cousins. Jade told Lily that Sister Elizabeth from The Orphanage of the Little Flower helped her track Lily down. Holden told Luke that they still needed to talk, then Jade and Luke went out for breakfast. Lily told Holden she was calling the orphanage to check out Jade's story. Lily called The Orphanage of the Little Flower and spoke to Sister Ann, who told Lily that Sister Elizabeth was on pilgrimage. Lily demanded to know if there was a mistake, but Sister Ann confirmed that Sister Elizabeth knew Rose and told Jade about her. Lily said they would then welcome Jade into their family. Meanwhile, Luke and Jade went to Java and bonded over breakfast while they talked about their respective families. Jade wondered what was up with the friction between Luke and Holden. Jade said her adoptive parents were perfect but she didn't want to do things their way, so she left and wanted to find her real mom. Luke told her about his Aunt Rose and how much fun she was and how much she is still missed, especially by Lily. Jade and Will returned home and Lily revealed she called the orphanage and confirmed Jade's story, then hugged Jade.

Maddie tried to do homework and avoid Casey. Margo showed up and told them that an arrest warrant has been issued for Gwen. Margo revealed that Barbara had accused Gwen of stealing money and attacking her. Margo told them that if Gwen or Will contact them to call her. She took off and Casey and Maddie talked about Gwen and Will. Casey wasn't that surprised about Gwen's involvement and they got into an argument about Gwen. Casey said that Maddie comparing him to Barbara was sarcastic and mean. Casey angrily opened the door to Nate, and was annoyed when Nate and Maddie took off together.

Barbara and Jennifer returned home and Barbara said she needed Jennifer's help with Will. Barbara feared Will would be sent back to the psych ward if he helps Gwen, and said she is pressing charges against Gwen for Will's sake. Barbara wanted Jennifer to go on TV and beg Will to come home. Jennifer said he'd never believe Gwen is guilty and Barbara flashedback on her struggle with Will (not Gwen, like she is saying). Jennifer talked to Kim about going on air but warned Barbara that Will won't forgive Barbara for going after Gwen. Barbara said that Paul's death taught her that she has to do everything to protect her children, even if it means Will hates her.

On the roof, Gwen awoke and took a sleeping Will's wallet. He woke up and caught her, and she told him that she was leaving him. Gwen said the cops were after her and she didn't want him to be her accomplice. Will refused to let her go, saying they were in this together. Will told her that they should stay up there until it gets dark, then they'd go to Chicago, then head out West. They hid when Maddie and Nate showed up and Nate called Maddie on talking about Casey all the time. Nate took off and Maddie heard something and realized someone else was up there. She went to call the cops, so Will and Gwen revealed themselves and asked her not to call the police.

Henry showed up at the Hughes home and wondered why Maddie had to see him right away. After some tense words with Casey, Maddie told Henry that he had to get her out of there. Maddie told him about her situation with Casey and Henry thought that maybe Casey was jealous of Nate. Henry said now wasn't a good time for her to move in with him and that BJ's money was off limits for now. Casey overheard them talking about him and the living situation until Emily's phone call interrupted them. Maddie wondered if Henry was back in trouble again. Casey then knocked something over and Maddie accused him of spying on her. Henry encouraged them to get along and took off. Maddie and Casey argued again about Nate and about her lack of privacy living there. Maddie apologized for throwing his situation with Gwen in his face and Casey promised to leave her alone in the future.

Jade thanked Lily for inviting her into their home and marveled at seeing her mother's face. Lily said she wasn't her mother and Jade revealed she is Rose's daughter. Jade said she didn't plan to tell them this way, but the car accident changed her plans. Lily insisted that Rose wouldn't have kept that big of a secret from her. Jade showed Lily her birth records, with Rose's name on them. Jade said she got the papers from a nun at the orphanage. Jade was upset she didn't meet her mother before she was murdered. Jade revealed that her adoptive parents think she is backpacking with friends. Lily was overwhelmed by the news and Jade went to leave but Lily stopped her and invited her to stay the night. Luke said that he believed Jade's story, while Holden and Lily decided to check out Jade's story.

On the roof, Will freaked about Barbara's condition and Gwen told him not blame himself for Barbara's accident. Gwen said they were in this together and if he went to the cops to confess, she was going with him. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Barbara awakened and told Jennifer she remembered what happened and who did it to her. Jennifer called Will to tell him that Barbara had regained consciousness and he prepared to go see her while Gwen stayed behind. Margo showed up to take Barbara's statement and Barbara flashed back on Will pushing her but accused Gwen of the crime — just as Will walked into her room. Will declared that Barbara was lying and confessed to pushing Barbara. Barbara revealed that Gwen was a suspect in a burglary at the Lakeview and Will blasted Barbara for doing anything to keep Gwen out of Will's life. Margo didn't know what to believe and got more info from Will. Will insisted that pushing his mother was an accident and that Barbara was lying. Barbara warned Will that it is her word against his and he stormed off. Barbara vowed to Jennifer that she will see Gwen behind bars. Will returned to the roof and told Gwen that Barbara accused her of the accident and said Barbara won't get away with it. Meanwhile, Margo started to search Barbara's room for clues and found Gwen's hair clip. She then put out an APB on Gwen and Will.

At the strip club, Carly saw Nick hooting at one of the strippers. The manager asked Carly if she was there for the stripping job but she said she was looking for a waitressing job instead. The manager checked her out and said she started tonight. Carly went to change into her outfit, while Nick asked the manager if there was any gambling going on. After flashing a bunch of money, the manager took Nick into the back room, which Carly saw. Carly started working and met one of the strippers, Chardonnay. Carly introduced herself as Tiffany and Chardonnay said she didn't seem like the type to take this job. Carly carried beer into the back room, where Nick was playing in a private card game. Nick was stunned to see Carly and the manager asked him if there was a problem. Nick covered and the manager ordered "Tiffany" back to work. Nick followed her and grabbed Carly (during which her bracelet fell off) and blasted her for following him there. Carly said she didn't know he was working undercover and that she needed the job. Nick doubted Jack would let her work there and Carly said Jack didn't know and he better not tell him. Nick demanded she leave but she refused.

Carly visited Jack at the station to warn him he's working too much between the force and his security gig. Nick came in with a plan to break the Anatoly gambling case, which Jack had been working. Carly eavesdropped as Nick and Jack hashed out their case, eventually agreeing that the Galaxy strip club was the key, and somebody should go undercover there. Nick selflessly volunteered, but Jack selflessly suggested he do it instead. Nick boasted he was a poker champion, and Jack touted his experience and contacts. Jack blew up and tried to walk, but Nick insisted he needs backup, and Jack agreed. (What kind of department is Hal running, when two maverick cops can set up their own undercover operation?) Carly vowed to get Nick off the case and out of town.

In her hospital bed, Jade Taylor, the girl Luke hit with his car, recognized Lily, but the doctor ushered them out before she could explain. Holden and Lily were relieved that Luke wasn't drinking and Jade has no internal injuries. Then Jade admitted the accident was'’t Luke's fault, because she should have looked before jumping into the road.

Maddie blasted Casey for breaking up her date with Nate, and he blurted out that he did it because he cares. When she tried to pin him down, Casey said Nate is a guy, so a kiss doesn't mean he's interested in her. Maddie freaked about being called naïve, but admitted never having a boyfriend. Casey admitted he would hate it if she got hurt. Maddie suggested that Nate is everything Casey isn't, so Casey stormed out. When he returned, Maddie tried to apologize, but he agreed her love life is none of his business.

Dusty tried to have dinner with a distracted Jennifer, who fretted about Will cutting ties with Barbara. Dusty suggested Barbara deserved it. Meanwhile, Gwen called 911 as Will tried to revive the fallen Babs and tried to convince Gwen to leave to avoid being blamed. Jen dialed Barbara and got suspicious when she got a busy signal. Since Gwen balked at leaving, Will suggested they both flee, but Jen knocked at the door. The kids hid as Jen and Dusty burst in and called 911. Suddenly the EMTs burst in and there was confusion over who called 911 and when. The EMTs determined Barbara had a "nasty bump" on her cranium, but no breaks. When everybody left, Will and Gwen came out of hiding. Will fretted that he pushed her on purpose, then Jen called him, summoning him to the ER. Reluctantly, he and Gwen went. At the ER, Dusty joined Jen at Barbara's bedside, and said he's there because he loves Jen, and Barbara is important to her. Jen started crying and lamenting all the times she wished Barbara out of her life. Dusty reassured her, "Nobody's leaving you." Outside, Gwen let Will see his mother alone. He flashed back to her fall and thought better of going in; he tried to walk away, but Jennifer corralled him. She revealed she didn't know what happened to their mother. She encouraged Will to talk to Babs: "Make her really angry." Outside, Jen spotted Gwen at the water cooler and told she had a lot of nerve to show up — but then apologized and thanked her for bringing Will.

At the accident site — the Snyder driveway — Lily found Jade's backpack. Jade sad she was waiting "for the right time" to say something. "I've been watching you. All of you. For weeks." Then she revealed why she recognized Lily: "I'm looking at my mother's face."

Nick told the floor man at Galaxy that he's from "out West," and flashed a big wad of cash, which got him a front-row seat for the next act — Chardonnay, "a real artist." (Who, presumably, would not strut her stuff to Donna Summer's "I Feel Love.") Carly entered and watched Nick tip a dancer. "Enjoy it while you can," she said.

Will told Barbara he didn't mean to hurt her, and hoped she wouldn't remember him. When he left, her eyes snapped open!
