ATWT Recaps Week of March 20, 2006

Gwen told Will she talked to Hal, who offered to let the newlyweds stay home and pay tuition so they can graduate in June. Will looked at her like he didn't even know her. They have the bickering part of marriage down cold. Will revealed that Uncle Bob got him a janitor job at the hospital (It's good to be chief of staff!). Gwen mocked him, and suggested using Hal's generosity to their advantage, and Will flipped out (but not that way). Barbara freaked when Hal confessed to enabling Will and "that little gold digger." She's not releasing Will's trust fund. They agreed the marriage isn't a good idea, but Hal refused to cut the kids off, because that will compel them to stick together. Hal recalled being a rebellious teen, and concluded Gwen is helping Will "grow up." Meanwhile, Gwen confessed she didn't want Will to give up his childhood home because of her, but Will said the house is full of bad memories, and mopping floors and living in a dive sounds like heaven. Even though Hal begrudgingly admitted that Will and Gwen are too young to be married, a huffy Barb gave up and gave in Hal's plan; she even agreed to release Will's trust fund after they graduate. Hal was confident the newlyweds would drift apart without a common enemy. After playing My Mom's a Bigger Nightmare Than Yours to a draw, Gwen fretted that Will was underestimating how hard it is to work and go to school. Will is sure they will have succesful professional careers and adopt lots of kids. Is she with him?

Meg sashayed into jail to visit Paul, who was expecting Emily. Paul insisted Dusty was alive when he left him, and that he had summoned Emily to tell her Meg had sold him out to see if Emily would reveal where Dusty is buried. Meg feared that if Emily smelled a rat she might really kill Paul this time. Meanwhile, Emily met with Henry to get his opinion on Paul's tale of turncoat Meg, and whether she could trust Paul when he says he loves her. "Should I go back to him?" she asked. Em didn't care about Paul going to jail, but decided to test his love. Back at jail, Meg suggested Dusty would resurface, dead or alive. Paul spotted Emily arriving and switched their conversation into a trumped-up argument for Emily's benefit. Meg stormed out, and Paul sweet-talked Emily, who questioned whether what she saw was authentic. And angry Paul tried to throw her out because it's over for him; he's going to jail, and he deserves it. He apologized for "being noble," and for hurting her. Paul said, "I will always love you," and Emily sobbed. (Who doesn't get weepy when someone quotes The Bodyguard?) Emily asks hims to prove his love, and Paul offers to do anything. Emily wants to come back to him — provided he proves his love. "I'll do anything."

Carly was packing stuff for Jack's desk, and Parker asked if the "bad lady" hurt her? Carly recalled being roughed up, but covered. Meanwhile, Katie and Nick confronted "bad lady" Chardonnay, who feared for her life because Anatoly had been threatening her. At that moment, a black-clad Mystery Man appeared outside the door. Chardonnay said Anatoly knows Nick is a cop, and had tried to kill Chardonnay before, but was stopped by a Mystery Phone Call. Nick offered Chardonnay immunity in return for the goods on Anatoly. Chardonnay said she needed her inhaler from the other room, but in the kitchen she gulped a glass of wine and sneaked out the back — right into the arms of the Mystery Man. At the station, Carly was stunned and beat a hasty retreat when she learned from Margo that Jack is handling Nick's case. The "dirty cop" is facing 10-20 years. Nick called Katie his best friend, and then they checked on Chardonnay — who was gone!

In jail, Emily asked: "Wanna marry me, Paul?" Hal returned home to tell the newlyweds the good news, but Gwen told "Lt. Munson" they are refusing his offer. Carly returned home just in time to find Jack with Chardonnay!

What did Carly clandestinely repair for Jack?

Barbara greeted Gwen in Hal's kitchen and revealed that Jen told her Gwen and Will got married. Barbara accused Gwen of tricking Will into marriage. Gwen told Babs she can't be bought off as Will came downstairs and traded barbs with his mother. Hal showed up and told Barbara they had to deal with Gwen and Will's choice and threw her out. Will said he was going to find a job so they could move out and he left. Gwen offered to make Hal breakfast, but he said she didn't have to cook and clean to stay there. They talked about her days in the band, and she said she missed music and thought she would study it in school. Hal had an idea on how to help them — if Gwen and Will went back to school and graduated with the rest of their class, Hal will let them live there and support them financially. Gwen turned him down because Will made her promise not to make any deals with his family. Hal told Gwen he would make Barbara release Will's trust fund after he graduates so Gwen relented. At the Lakeview, Will unsuccessfully called around for jobs as Bob and Kim came upon him. Will told them that he and Gwen got married and they wondered how they could help. Will inquired for jobs at the hospital and Bob said he would find something for him. Will was thrilled that he and Gwen could then move out of Hal's.

Lily brought Lucinda up to speed on Jade and Luke. Lucinda was confused about Holden's change of tune about Jade — why he's giving her the benefit of the doubt now. Lucinda said that Luke seems sad and distracted, not like a young man in love. Luke came into the room and Lucinda asked him why he was so in love with Jade. Luke said she was "all-around great" but Lucinda wasn't impressed by his lack of enthusiasm and wondered if he was just covering for Jade, just as Jade walked into the room. Luke told Lucinda he loves Jade. They put on a show for Lucinda, then took off. Lily returned and Lucinda said they had to watch Luke and Jade very carefully.

Katie and Nick showed up outside the Galaxy Club. Katie was going to distract the manager so Nick could get info on Chardonnay. Katie inquired about a job with the manager while Nick snuck inside. As Katie started dancing, the manager recognized her from her TV show. The manager wondered why she needed the job and she said her show got cancelled and she is unemployed. Katie had to show off more of her "moves" while Nick broke a glass in the back room during his search. He found Char's file and grabbed her info. The manager heard the noise and told Katie to stop. Katie said she didn't hear anything so he didn't go check it out. She continued dancing to distract the manager while Nick snuck back out. Katie got the job and left, then met Nick outside where he told her he got info on Chardonnay.

At Jack and Carly's, Carly blasted Chardonnay for bungling Nick's set-up. Carly said she wanted it to look like Nick was with a hooker, not make him look like a drug dealer. Char said Carly needed to give her money to get out of town. Carly relented but Char demanded more because Anatoly was after her now. They threatened each other, and Carly told Char to leave. Char started rummaging around on the desk and smacked Carly to the ground when Carly tried to stop her. Parker showed up during their argument and pulled a gun on Char. Char insisted she wasn't hurting his mom and he told her to get out. Char grabbed the toy gun and Carly pushed her away from Parker. Char said Carly was her only hope so Carly gave her a necklace to pawn. Carly told her to get out and that she never wanted to see her again. After Char left, Parker asked Carly a bunch of questions and couldn't wait to tell Jack how brave he was. Carly told Parker not to tell Jack what happened because she didn't want to upset him. Carly added that keeping secrets was a good thing sometimes. Meanwhile, Nick and Katie tracked down Char before she left for the bus station. Nick demanded to know who she was running from and for her to tell him the truth about everything that happened that night.

Jack came home and Carly met him in a chemise, told him that the kids were gone for the night, she was cooking dinner and the place was lit with candles. Jack opened up the champagne and told Carly they could toast him being back on the force and the fact that Nick was about to be indicted. Isn't that what she wanted? Carly maintained her innocence and said she didn't set Nick up with the heroin. An angry Jack blasted her for working at the club and lying to him. She pulled out all the stops to convince him that their marriage is the most important thing to her and insisted she didn't strip at the club, just waited tables, and everything she did was for him. He started to kiss her as she begged for his forgiveness. They had angry sex but Jack said it didn't change anything. Carly thought it was a start and was hurt when Jack said he was going back to work. Jack said that sex didn't solve anything and that he knew Carly too well — that is the problem — and went upstairs. He came back downstairs with files and he said he was tired of her same old song and dance. She told him not to forget a photo of the two of them for his desk and went to get him some food before he left. Jack called the station and took off without saying goodbye.

At the Lakeview, Lisa caught Nick trying to get into the scene of his crime and wasn't going to let him in until Katie arrived and told Lisa that Carly framed Nick. Lisa sympathized with Nick being conned by Carly and Katie reminded her that Nick was the one who saved everyone at WOAK. It must have worked because Katie and Nick got into the room and re-enacted what happened the night he was set up. Katie played Carly and Nick had trouble remembering what happened so Katie coached him through it. Nick said everything got fuzzy after he had a couple drinks and recalled that Carly didn't say anything when she came in. When Katie slipped her blouse off her shoulder, it triggered memories of the evening and he realized it wasn't Carly there that night but the stripper Chardonnay. Meanwhile, Char turned up on Carly's doorstep and said she needed Carly's help.

Holden stopped Lily from calling the cops on Jade. Jade and Luke came into the room and Lily ran out, with Holden taking off after her. Luke began to think that Jade's idea to have his parents think they are sleeping together was a bad one, but she threatened to tell his parents that he is gay if he tells them they aren't together. Jade asserted that she and Luke were using each other to get what they wanted. Luke realized that if he had the guts to tell his parents he was gay, then this never would have happened. Jade said that Holden doesn't want to know Luke is gay and now Jade could cover for him. Luke wondered why she wanted to be a part of their family. Outside, Lily asked why Holden thinks that Jade could be a good thing for Luke. Holden said Luke has had a rough year and they should cut him some slack. He added that Kevin was a bad influence on Luke and by sending Jade away, they could lose Luke. Lily wondered if there was something Holden was not telling her. Holden said Luke was still being secretive and that they have to prove to Luke that he can trust them, and then maybe he'll break up with Jade on his own. After Luke dumps Jade, then they can go to the cops about Jade. But if they push, they could lose Luke. Lily and Holden came back inside and said Jade could stay — but only for tonight. Lily told Jade she'd better not go near Luke's room and that if she and Luke ran off together, Lily would hunt them down and have Jade arrested. Jade asked to talk to Lily and apologized for pretending to be Rose's daughter. Jade said she has fallen in love with Luke and can't leave now. Lily went to bed. Holden told Luke that he doesn't approve of what he's done with Jade and the lying, but said he loved him. Luke wondered why Holden told him that tonight — after he was found in bed with Jade.

At the jail, Paul told Meg that Emily is behind Dusty's disappearance and is doing this to get back at the both of them. Emily obviously thinks that Paul chose Meg over her. Paul said that he needed to find Dusty for Jennifer's sake. Paul grabbed Meg's hand and stopped her from telling the police that they think Emily has Dusty somewhere. Paul said that Dusty's only chance is Emily not finding out that they are on to her. Meg feared it could backfire and both he and Dusty could end up dead. Paul asked her to let him fix things — for Jennifer and for Meg. Meg said she hopes this works and took off.

At the Lakeview lobby, Hal told Jennifer they haven't found Dusty's body so Jennifer speculated that maybe Dusty is alive. Paul may have lied, and they have to find Dusty before it's too late. Jennifer said she needed to know for certain that Dusty was gone and Hal promised to keep looking for him, then took off. Meg showed up and told Jen that Paul didn't kill Dusty and neither did she, and that Paul was trying to find out what happened to Dusty. Meg admitted there was a lot of evidence against them, but neither one of them killed Dusty or saw him dead. Meg told Jennifer she hopes Dusty is alive but Paul doesn't want to inform the police of their suspicions. Jennifer demanded to know who has Dusty. When Meg refused to give her any details, Jennifer said that Meg and Paul need to leave her alone.

Dusty challenged Emily to look him in the eyes before she shot him. Emily asked if he had any last requests, so he wanted to know why Paul confessed to his murder. Emily cried that Paul did it to protect Meg and Dusty started to laugh, insisting that Meg still loved him. Emily said Meg has moved on to Paul and she plans to frame Meg for Dusty's murder. Dusty said Emily was wasting her time — Meg has nothing to offer Paul, but Emily does if she keeps Dusty alive. Dusty said that they could make it look like Emily saved Dusty and Paul will be grateful to her forever and he could fall in love with her all over again. Emily refused to believe it and told him to close his eyes so she could shoot him. Dusty told Emily to tell Jennifer that his last thoughts were of her. Emily's cell phone rang, so she gagged Dusty again and went outside to answer it. It was Paul, who said he needed to see her. Emily showed up at the jail and Paul apologized for turning to Meg instead of her and for taking Emily's love for granted. Emily wondered why he confessed to the crime for Meg. Paul said he confessed to save Meg's life since she saved his. Paul then lied and said that Meg turned against him, and that since he left Emily his life has been a nightmare. Emily wondered what Paul wanted from her now. Paul told Emily the worst mistake he ever made in his life was turning his back on her. Visiting hours were over so Emily took off. Meanwhile, Dusty (who somehow got the gag out of his mouth) dreamed of Jennifer and Hal finding him and begged Jennifer not to give up on him.

These boots are made for walking — and holding Dusty captive. A woman in boots (was it Meg? or Emily?) walked into the dark, deserted room where Dusty was being held. Dusty's captor took off his blindfold and was revealed to be — Emily! Dusty flashbacked on Emily knocking him out that night at the hotel and asked Emily why he was there. Emily said she had to stop him and he maintained he wasn't ever going to kill Paul. Dusty told Emily that she had to let him go. Emily said Paul messed up her plan by confessing to save Meg, so he can spend the rest of his life rotting in jail. Dusty played along and said that he and Emily should work together. Emily started to cry and told Dusty he was a good man. Dusty asked her for the key to release him. She went to her purse to get it. When Dusty asked if she needs help, she replied, "Always, but it never comes. It's up to me, it's always up to me." She then said he couldn't go because Paul confessed to killing Dusty, so for him to stay in jail, Dusty can't go anywhere. Dusty asked why Paul confessed to killing him. Emily said Paul was an idiot and Dusty freaked that Jennifer now thinks that Paul killed him. Dusty said that Emily got back at Paul and that this has to stop now. Emily says she's the only one who knows that there was no murder. Dusty pitched a tale they could tell about his disappearance — he would say he was on a business trip and his phone didn't work. Emily wasn't so sure. Dusty insisted that Jennifer wouldn't give up until she finds him and Emily agreed — so she has to give them Dusty's body. Emily told Dusty she was sorry, then pulled a gun on him.

At the jail, Paul remembered Emily accusing Meg of Dusty's murder. Then there was a shot of a woman arriving in boots — and Paul asked the person what they were doing back there. It was revealed to be Meg, who told Paul that Emma wanted her to sell Paul down the river, but she couldn't. Meg tried to tell Paul that she understood why he killed Dusty, and Paul said he was protecting her and he asked her to tell him what really happened with Dusty. A confused Meg said she didn't kill Dusty and Paul replied he didn't either! Meg said she found the bloody wallet in the parking lot, but never saw Dusty. She asked him what happened when Paul went after Dusty. Paul said that he followed Dusty, Dusty pushed him in the bushes and Paul passed out from his injuries, and when he came to later, he hid out in a nearby cemetery. The last time Paul saw Dusty, he was alive. Paul said he confessed to save Meg. Meg asked him why he would confess to a crime he didn't commit. He said he couldn't let them take her away, especially after she gave up everything she loved for him and she saved his life. He added that he cares about what happens to her. Meg wondered how they were going to get Paul out of this. They deduced that Dusty could still be alive and that Emily is behind this.

Margo met Tom at the Lakeview for date night and she revealed that Casey and Maddie helped Gwen and Will get married, Casey and Maddie are now a couple, and she kicked Maddie out. Margo freaked to realize that Maddie is now living with Henry — at a hotel. Meanwhile, Maddie unpacked in Henry's room at the Lakeview and flashbacked on getting kicked out of the Hughes'. Maddie shut the door on Casey when he arrived and yelled through the door that they were bad for each other. She finally re-opened the door and she said Henry was away and they started making out. Lisa met up with Tom and Margo and promised to keep Maddie and Casey busy, then went to talk to Maddie. "I've turned into Barbara Ryan," gasped Margo. "I'm sneaky, underhanded and manipulating my son's life." Maddie and Casey's makeout session was interrupted by Tom's call but Casey didn't answer. Lisa, Margo and Tom showed up at Maddie's door, so Casey hid. Maddie opened up the door and said that she was in the shower and didn't know where Casey was. Tom and Margo took off, while Lisa walked into the room and kicked Casey, who was hiding under the bed. Lisa said Maddie would be getting her own private room so she could keep an eye on her, and Casey vowed that no one will keep him away from Maddie. Lisa revealed that a job will — she bought Mable's Red Hots and she is opening a new club there and needs a music director. Lisa went back to the lobby and told Tom and Margo to enjoy their date, while Casey snuck out of the Lakeview.

Lily told Luke he wasn't going anywhere with Jade. Luke revealed that Jade told him she wasn't his cousin before they were "together." Lily and Holden wondered how he could keep Jade's secret, choosing a total stranger over his family. Lily balked when Luke said he was in love with Jade. Luke told Jade he would pack his things and meet her in the car. Holden grabbed Jade before she walked out and Jade said this is how she knew Luke wasn't gay — she is involved with him. Jade said that Kevin is out of the picture and Luke has stopped drinking since she came into Luke's life, so Holden shouldn't mess that up. Lily followed Luke into his room while he packed and asked why he was doing this since there is no way he could love Jade. Luke said Jade is a good person, and Lily begged Luke to talk to her and give her a chance. Luke said he went along with Jade's scam because being with Jade made Lily happy and he didn't want to take that away from her. Lily maintained that Jade is not the person Luke wants to be with, as Jade walked into the room. Lily left, and Luke told Jade that the lies are hurting Lily and he wants to tell her the truth. Jade dared him to do it. Luke backed down and said he would keep quiet and Jade revealed that Holden is on their side. Downstairs, Lily told Holden there is no way Luke loves Jade. Holden stopped her from calling Jack to report Jade.

Lily freaked to find Luke in bed with Jade and then yelled at Jade for trying to con her about being Rose's daughter. Luke and Jade jumped out of bed and Jade apologized, but Lily smacked her. Luke tried to calm Lily down, while Lily blasted Jade for stealing from nuns at the orphanage and seducing her son. Holden then came into the room and was surprised to see a half-naked Jade and Luke. Lily said that Jade had used them and Luke. Holden and Lily told Jade and Luke to get dressed and come downstairs and left the room. Jade was happy with how things went, but Luke said he was going to tell them the truth. As they were getting dressed, Luke said what they were doing was wrong, but Jade said Holden was relieved to see Luke with a girl and Holden will be on their side. Jade maintained she just wanted a family, told Luke to follow her lead and everything will be fine. Downstairs, Holden was quiet when Lily couldn't believe that Luke was having sex with Jade. Lily declared that she wanted Jade gone. Holden told Lily they needed to calm down and listen to their side of the story. Luke and Jade came downstairs and Lily told Jade to leave. Luke said if Jade goes, so does he.

At the jail, Paul told Hal that he has Paul's confession so they can stop hassling Meg. Hal blasted Paul for hurting everyone he loves, then revealed that Gwen and Will got married. Meanwhile, Will and Gwen played house at Hal's and Will explained to her what it was like to live there before. Their make-out session was interrupted by Paul's phone call. Paul asked him to come visit him at the jail. Gwen said that maybe Will should go for Jen's sake and find out if Dusty is still alive, then offered to go with him. Gwen and Will showed up and Paul congratulated them on their marriage and wanted to give them all of his assets as a wedding present. He promised he wasn't trying to play them and said they would never have to see him again. Will flipped and said he didn't want to have anything to do with Paul after everything Paul has done to their family. "Sometimes family is just a fancy word for betrayal," said Paul, who argued that Gwen and Will have a shot at a good life together and they should take the money. Will said he would take the money — and give it to Johnny, since Paul has hurt Johnny the most. Before they left Gwen said she had just more one question for Paul — Did he really kill Dusty? Paul said yes.

At the Lakeview, Emily asked Henry to kill someone for her and Henry assumed it was Meg. Emily replied she never said who, and he would have his money back if he did this for her. Maddie came upon them and said their hotel room was too small for the both of them. Henry went to change rooms and Emily told him he'd have cash for the penthouse if he did what she asked. Maddie wondered why Emily was calling shots with Henry. Maddie got a phone call and Henry warned Emily that Maddie sees right through her. Henry told Emily he wouldn't kill Meg for her. He suggested she take a spa day, so Emily said she would take care of it herself and walked out, with the camera focused on her boots. Maddie returned and told Henry she didn't like Emily and that Emily is hot for Henry. He said she was "crazy," but about another guy.

Meg returned to the farm after being released from jail and Emma welcomed her home. Meg felt guilty that Emma was using the farm as collateral to pay for Meg's lawyer. Emma said the lawyer called and the blood on Meg's blouse matched Dusty's. Emma told Meg how scared she was for Meg but Meg offered up few answers. She asked Meg to tell her what really happened with Dusty, and Meg flashed back on her bloodied hands. Emma said she couldn't forget the night on the bridge and begged Meg to do what she could to put Paul behind bars. Meg insisted that everything she's done has been her decision, not Paul's. Emma wondered what kind of hold Paul has on her as Meg flashbacked on her time with Paul. Meg got upset and ran upstairs. She later came back downstairs — with a shot of her boots — and Emma showed her a photo of Meg and Dusty in happier times. A tearful Meg remembered when the photo was taken and said she couldn't take back what she has done, then took off. Meanwhile, a blindfolded and chained Dusty awoke in a dark room. There was a bowl of water he drank out of, like a dog, and tried to slip out of the chains. A woman with boots then walked into the room....
