ATWT Recaps Week of August 7, 2006Friday, August 11, 2006 Luke wondered why Jade suggested Gwen won't be around much longer. She covered, but he told her to "butt out and keep your mouth shut." Holden's arrival chased Jade away. Luke told his dad he's leaving for Malta tonight. Holden said it was a mistake, but they still said goodbye. Then Holden made a call. Meanwhile, Damian got physical as he confronted Lucy about trying to draw his blood. She accused him of lying about his health, and he vowed to make sure she never shares her "diagnosis" with anyone. She told him Luke needs Holden — and Lily could die while they are in Malta. Lucy suddenly got woozy and realized Damian had switched the teacups. She passed out and he tossed her over his shoulder and locked her in a wine cellar. (Paging Inga!) Upstairs, Dusty found the empty hypodermic needle and dropped teacup, then confronted Damian, who threatened him and tried to toss him out. But the Dustman creeped back in to look around. Lucy awoke and called for help. Dusty wandered downstairs and tried to free her, but a Maltese Thug pulled a gun and handcuffed Dusty inside with her. Helpless, Lucy shouted hopelessly for Luke, then remarked that it feels just like old times with Dusty. Jack answered Holden's call, but balked at arresting Damian just to keep him in the country. Then he suggest they can "mess with him," and made a call. Damian himself was on the phone and covered when Luke appeared. Luke asked about Lucy, then called the hospital looking for her, but she wasn't there. Luke said it's okay for his father to be stern with him if necessary, and they departed. Henry was skeptical of Louis, who insisted Maddie trusts him. Eve advised not putting more pressure on Maddie, but Louis suggested the siblings are enabling something "very dark, very disturbing" in her. "Maddie has never been normal," he charged. Meanwhile, Gwen was being confronted by a spaced-out Maddie, who demanded to know why Gwen was spending time with Casey — and why she's moving in with him. Maddie was upset that Casey told Gwen Maddie's rejected his offer of help. Maddie warned the departing Gwen to stay away from Casey; after all, "Look what happened to Lia," she pointed out as the soundtrack pumped up an overly-dramatic pastiche of the Psycho theme. Henry defended Maddie and their lifestyle, and Louis claimed to be like a father to Maddie. Meanwhile, Maddie was cleaning up just as Jade came in and warned her that about 200-300 people want to beat her up. She blasted Maddie for ruining Will and Gwen's marriage. Maddie acknowledged everything was ruined — but Jade is responsible and "needs to be punished!" Gwen and Casey are a couple now because of Jade, and "It's not right," Jade dubbed Maddie "the mayor of Crazytown," and scoffed: "I don't take orders from homicidal Smurfs." Suddenly Maddie heard voices and ran off.
At Gwen's, the knife-wielding stalker entered a bedroom window and a POV camera followed as the Stalker knocked out Casey, punched out Gwen and poised the knife over her chest.
Thursday, August 10, 2006 Will woke up angsty and Gwen did the same on a Crash couch. Gwen and Casey sighed over their situations and Gwen urged Casey to find Maddie, to try and fix his. At Java, Jade made like the wounded party as Will showed up looking for Gwen. He moped, Jade supported, and Gwen naturally caught them holding hands. Barbara spied Gwen bolting and blasted her son. She offered to mend the fences with Gwen. "Trust me or you could lose your marriage," Babs warned Will. Back inside, Will told Jade she was bad luck for him. A tearful Jade was waylaid from stalking him by Luke. Back at Crash, Barbara told Gwen, "I'm sure that Jade is to blame for this." So, "I'm supposed to just, bam!, forgive and forget?" Gwen countered. Babs pleaded for her not to give up on Will. "This is almost funny," Gwen noted of Barbara being their marriage's cheerleader. Babs admitted the irony and wondered, "Surely you're not going to let some rank amateur succeed when I failed?" Casey interrupted Barbara's passionate pitch and Gwen hugged him tightly. Luke got the full story on Will and Jade, asking Jade, "What is this, some sort of sick public service that you do?" Of course, Jade found a way to blame it all on Maddie. Casey asked a shaken Gwen to come stay at the Hughes', joking that they could write sappy songs that "rhyme with Will and Maddie." As they hugged and kissed platonically, Maddie watched from the doorway. She later emerged, blank-eyed, to confront Gwen. Back at Java, Jade ominously told Luke that Gwen might not be around much longer. At the Lakeview, Dusty and Lucinda signed some papers and Dusty brought up Lucy's shenanigans. At Fairwinds, Luke told Lucy that her Nancy Drew act wouldn't "fly" but he would, with Damian, tonight! "Is everything alright?" Damian asked, interrupting. Luke covered for his cousin and Lucy assured him she'd let things go for the sake of keeping the peace. Once Luke was gone, Lucy called Memorial and begged off work. (So much for peace!) Her shadow Sergio overheard. Speaking of that devil, Dusty mentioned him to Lucinda but Lucinda didn't appreciate Dusty's interference. Sergio told Damian that Lucy was up to no good, warning him that he needed to be on that plane with Luke tonight. Lucinda called to check on Lucy — who lied that she was at the hospital. "Does that put your mind to rest?" Lucinda asked Dusty. Nope! Lucinda asked Dusty to back off Lucy as Lucy's feelings for him were "complicated." "Alright, I'll stay out of it," Dusty lied. Meanwhile, Lucy did a drug check before seeing Damian. Then, the doc walked right up and examined his tonsils. "Well worth the wait," Damian dubbed the hot (but slightly creepy) kiss. "Maybe we should just stop with a first kiss," Lucy suggested, to cool his ardor. She got going with her act (cue the violins) wanting to know everything about Damian she could. "That's a tall order," he observed. "Then let's start with something simple: how do you take your tea?" Lucy brought her doctored (pun fully intended!) tea to Damian and they toasted to tomboys and tea parties. Dusty called Lucinda from Memorial, realizing that Lucy had snowed them. Hypo-wielding Lucy bent over "unconscious" Damian — and then he grabbed her!
Wednesday, August 9, 2006 At the Little Cottage That Could, Mike surmised that Katie had gone to chase Simon and Carly in NYC. He snagged his keys and stormed out. "This isn't right," a vision of Mike told Katie on the plane. She tried calling home and, shortly thereafter, actually arrived home. Mike showed up soon after, seeming mad but bearing the fixings for his special spaghetti & meatballs (who puts olives in spaghetti?). Forgiven, Katie snuggled her hubby. "We've grown up!" she observed, delighted at how they'd evolved. "We don't need all this craziness." As they smooched, she whispered, "Let's make a baby!" Wha-huh? "Slow down," Mike cautioned. "This is not a construction project," Katie told him, assuring him they'd be great parents. He grabbed some wine and they ran to get their baby-making groove on. At the pond, it wasn't the stalker eyeing Casey — It was Will! He informed Casey that Maddie "busted up my marriage." Gwen found Jade (instead of Casey) at Crash. Jade tried to lend her a shoulder and Gwen countered with the back of her hand (You go, Girl!). Jade's reaction? "I slept with him. So what?" Gwen boggled, blasting the homeless homewrecker for her skewed definition of friendship. "You're just going to have to get over it and move on," Jade advised. Gwen called her a sociopath, adding that if Jade wanted her hubby, well, now she could have him. At the lake, Casey looked at Will "Like That" as Will spilled all. "You messed up!" Casey cried. He knew it from his own "one time" experience. "Fight for her," he urged Will about Gwen. At Crash, Jade played marriage counselor and told Gwen not to walk out on Will. Thankfully, Casey interrupted the Dr. Phil act. Gwen then fell apart in his arms. Will returned to an empty house and Jade showed up (ready to have Gwen's hubby!). Casey counseled Gwen to give things time and put off a divorce. Will and Jade went 10 rounds about their sordid affair. "You're my friend," Jade simpered. "I hope that we can start over." Love wasn't enough, Gwen told Casey. "I deserve better." Casey played Devil's advocate, reminding her, "We're all just mistakes waiting to happen. The surprise is when it works." Will wasn't so hot on starting over so Jade left. Casey refused to leave Gwen alone so they decided to stick it out at Crash together. Gwen and Will stared out their respective windows angstily to Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars."
Tuesday, August 8, 2006 At Chez Munson Junior, Will side-stepped Gwen's question about Jade. She didn't quite buy his excuses, having learned her lessons from being raised by a drunk. Eventually, Will finally 'fessed up to his one-nighter — not explaining it well. "So, you had meaningless sex because you love me?" she concluded. "How many times did you lie to me?" she demanded before starting to pack. "Did you guys have a good laugh?" she wondered of Will and Jade. Will pleaded for the chance to win back her trust. He brought up her pregnancy and living with her and the baby (low blow) and reminded her of his insecurities. "What happens the next time we fight?" Gwen countered. Will talked about his abandonment issues and asked Gwen to at least believe that he didn't hurt Maddie. That, she bought. But it didn't make a difference. She couldn't forgive him. "The one person you really don't trust is yourself and it's too deep and twisted for me!" she cried. Will grabbed her, refusing to let her leave. "Take a minute to calm down," he begged. Gwen didn't care about his reasons, about there being a murderer out there. She bolted...and enraged Will threw some knickknacks. At the Oakdale PD, Eve and Henry argued about Maddie. "She does not need a psychiatrist!" said Henry. "What she needs is a one-way ticket out of town!" Nearby, Casey tried to get through to her. Meanwhile, Jade interrupted Dallas investigating the crime scene, asking him to throw the book at Maddie. Casey gave Maddie a music mix, asking her to remember the way they were. "If you don't stay away from me, you could be next," Maddie reminded. Jade painted a picture of psycho Maddie for Dallas. "Be careful walking around alone at night," he advised, grimly. Casey was heartfelt while trying to win Maddie over but she jerked open the door, calling for Margo and tattling on him. Detective Mom chided her son for his recklessness as he defended Maddie. "Find the killer," Casey urged. "He's still out there!" Then, Jessica arrived, agreeing to represent Maddie and getting the 411 from Margo. Maddie didn't quite think Margo's best pal would make her best defender but Henry reassured her. "What did The Dude say?" he asked, teasingly, of Casey's visit...depressing Mad even further. In the hall, Jack and Eve commiserated over the suckiness of their situations. "I'd never place you and Henry in the same gene pool," Jack grinned, eyeing her. "I think you're looking in the wrong direction," Aunt Jessica told Dallas. Off the record, he agreed and he then pointed out Maddie's lack of motive to Margo. Her problems began in Chicago and that's where he needed to start. At the pond, Casey angsted alone as someone watched.
Monday, August 7, 2006 High in the sky, Simon and Carly got their flirt on. "You deserve the break," Simon told her, pouring champagne. The duo toasted to "style, glamour, wealth and fame" and then turbulence led to the bubbly spilling on Carly's dress. She donned a fetching captain's jacket. Had they told Jack or Katie about this trip? Nope. "Us dumped ex-spouses have our pride, too," Simon grinned before they toasted again (without spillage). In NYC, Carly admired a kick-ass view from the penthouse and reveled in a new wardrobe courtesy of the awesome Aussie. "The man has taste! And nerve," she added, wryly, finding racy underwear. Then, Simon moved in, citing a plumbing problem in his own suite. Suspicious Carly checked for photographers as Simon started shucking off clothes. He went off to shower, emerging in a towel as a rattled Carly admitted she had no luck finding other rooms in Manhattan. Later, Simon picked up Carly's cell phone when Jack called... At the police station, Dallas told Jack and Margo that Will and Jade's vibe was "weird." They were obviously hiding something! (Duh.) Will and Jade argued over Maddie telling Gwen about their affair. In the interrogation room, that's exactly what she was doing — tacking on that one of them had tried to kill her. Gwen pretended not to believe her but ended up glaring at Will as Jack questioned him and Jade. Dallas nixed Henry and Eve's request to take Maddie home. Casey showed up to see Maddie and Margo put the kibosh on that. "You've gotta trust me," she said, ushering him out and allowing Henry in. Henry told Maddie that the cops suspected her of faking her attack. "I know you didn't hurt yourself." "Maybe I did?" she murmured, haunted. Nearby, Will and Jade were certain they were off the hook. Will quickly shooed away his bed bunny and left with Gwen. Margo urged skeptical Dallas to "follow the facts." Unfortunately, said facts still led to Maddie. Maddie pointed out that she had no memory of her attack or Nate's. "You're not a killer," Henry reasoned, telling her it was just sleep deprivation. Jack, Margo and Dallas kept being detective-ish and Jack decided to call Carly to tell her about Gwen's perils. (Purely for Gwen's sake...not!) Alone, Maddie had a wacky, twisted fantasy titled "The Three Faces of Maddie," and freaked out even more. At home, Gwen lowered the boom on Will: Maddie had accused him and Jade of attempted murder. As Will boggled, Gwen pushed on: "Did you do it? Did you sleep with Jade?"
