ATWT Recaps Week Of September 5, 2006Friday, September 8, 2006
Thursday, September 7, 2006 Carly ran into Dallas while looking for Hal (who's in Washington) to inquire about Gwen. Carly was shocked to hear that Henry's sister was the culprit, and that Jack arrested her. Jack was drowning his sorrows at a bar when Carly appeared and assured him he couldn't have known Eve was crazy. He beat himself up for swallowing her story. Didn't he learn anything from Julia? They asked each other if they're seeing someone, and seemed relieved that the answer was negative. But Simon suddenly appeared and told her she needs to "rethink" the fixtures in his building's lobby right away. As Jack abruptly left, he mentioned that their divorce papers are ready to sign. Simon noticed Carly's crestfallen expression and prodded her about the divorce. He pointed out that she can get a quickie divorce in Santo Domingo. Meanwhile, Jack discussed his Carly encounter with Holden over beers. Holden asked if he's sure he wants to end the marriage, and Jack sighed that he's not sure about anything anymore. Carly agreed to let Simon fly her to Santo Domingo. With Casey still in surgery at another hospital, Gwen was being kept overnight for observation at Memorial. Will offered to take her home, but she declined. Barbara appeared with flowers, and demanded to know how many dragons her "poor boy" has to slay to win Gwen's forgiveness? Gwen confessed she can't help being suspicious of Will and Jade. Barbara sang Will's praises and departed. Gwen asked Will to go home. Later, she had a nightmare about Eve attacking her, so it was a good thing Will stuck around. He suggested conducting a memorial service for the town, then starting all over. She agreed.
Paul greeted Meg, Holden and Emma, who were suspicious of why he was there with Emily. Alone, Paul apologized to Meg. When Emily offered to reschedule their "business meeting" in favor of their family celebration, Paul hid Meg's ring finger and lied about what they were celebrating. Back home, Emma warned Holden to stay out of his sister's life — even though Paul is sure to hurt her. After Emily left, Meg demanded an explanation for hiding their engagement. He said he's concerned about Emily’s blood pressure. He suggested it's wiser to keep their plans a secret from Emily because she might still be unbalanced. Once she has the baby and goes back to work, she won't be an issue in their lives. Meanwhile, Emily told her mother about Paul's plan for The Intruder, then, alone, told her baby that Paul will eventually realize his place is with them. Meg told Paul she is taking off his ring until the baby is born.
Wednesday, September 6, 2006 Katie said she wanted to ask Carly about a job opportunity, but joked about that incident where Simon stripped, so Carly explained the spackle accident again. Katie was caught off-guard by mention of Carly's divorce. She cautioned Carly against getting involved with Simon. About that job? Katie said Kim was thinking of launching a home & garden show, so would Carly be interested in offering decorating tips? Carly realized Katie is interested in Simon; Katie said she's just interested in Carly's welfare. Henry defended Maddie from Jack's suspicions as they examined Geneva's marshmallow-festooned body. Meanwhile, Luke defended Jade from Gwen's suspicions. Meanwhile, Maddie removed the slasher's mask to reveal...her sister Eve! Eve mocked Maddie's cluelessness and blamed her for all the dead kids. Eve said "cute little Maddie, pretty little Maddie" was taking advantage of people's goodwill. She accused the "disgusting slut" of parading herself in front of Louis and tempting him into raping her. Eve considered letting it go until Maddie was prompted to accuse Louis, so Eve had to frame Maddie. Maddie was aghast at all the dead day-players...er, teenagers, and Eve snarked, "Don't get moral with me. I was protecting my marriage!" from "a vicious, grasping slut." She started to cry over Louis, which angered Maddie. "You gave me no choice!" Eve spat. Meanwhile, Jade caught up with the kids and asked what happened. Gwen accused her, and Jade appealed to Will, who defended her. Eve said killing Louis was a sort of release, and the kids were just "collateral damage." Except for Casey. "He had to die," Eve laughed, because she wanted to take away someone Maddie loved, just like Maddie took Louis away. As Maddie reeled, Eve reached for a stone. Maddie wrestled the rock away, but couldn't bring herself to beat in Eve's face with it. Instead she tried to revive Casey. Tom and Margo finally arrived, and the kids pointed out Eve — who had disappeared! But the fleeing Eve ran straight into Jack, who read her her rights. She laughed maniacally at the stunned Henry. Gwen apologized; Jade let it slide. Dallas brought the news about Casey rescuing Maddie from Eve. Jade noticed Gwen recoiling from Will, and hoped they had not reconciled yet. Eve was furious that Henry was more concerned about "poor Maddie" than her. "How come you never worried about me?" she cried. "I hope you're happy." As she was led away, Eve asked Jack, "Get the wine I sent you?" As she passed her little sister, Eve sniped, "Later, Maddie." Gwen regretted suspecting Jade, and Will regretted things he said to Casey as Jade and Luke watched from the bushes. As an EMT attended to Gwen, Jade thanked Will for defending her. A distraught Maddie noted that Casey saved her life twice, and that Eve blamed her for everything. Will carried gimpy Gwen to the ambulance. At the police station, Eve tried to flirt with Jack, then told him, "Enjoy the wine." At the hospital, Margo reassured Casey before he was wheeled away. Maddie pleaded with Casey to be okay.
Tuesday, September 5, 2006 Jack, Margo, Henry, Tom and Dallas were all distressed about the fate of the kids. When Henry started to head off to the lake alone, Jack stopped him. He didn't want Henry interfering with the investigation. Meanwhile, Tom tried to calm Margo down after Casey didn't answer his cell phone. (He had good reason: his cell phone was laying aside his motionless body.) After the county police failed them, the group decided to head up to the lake together. Unfortunately, things weren't looking too good at said lake. Maddie assumed Louis was the slasher, but after the slasher killed him in front of her eyes, she crossed him off the suspect list. (Smart girl.) Meanwhile, Gwen and Will vowed to stick together to survive. When they heard sirens, they took off in search of them and eventually ran into Tom, Margo, Henry, Jack and Dallas. After Jack and Henry took off in search of Maddie and the rest of the gang, Gwen and Will told Margo that Maddie announced to them, while she was covered in blood, that Casey had died. Margo assumed Maddie killed Casey and was beside herself. Tom tried to comfort her as Luke approached the scene, stunned to learn what had happened since he left. "Where's Jade?" he wondered. The kids all exchanged glances and Gwen voiced her suspicion that perhaps Jade was the killer. Meanwhile, Henry and Jack discovered Louis' dead body. "He's not the slasher," Jack brilliantly deducted. Later, Jack found the killer's small handprint and figured that the killer was a woman. Maddie's situation went from bad to worse when the slasher finally cornered her. With the knife literally inches from her, Casey (He's alive!) arrived to save the day. A very injured Casey knocked the slasher out and Maddie thanked her hero with a kiss. She grabbed the knife and then went over and started to take the slasher's mask off. Dun, dun, dun....
