ATWT Recaps Week of October 30, 2006Friday, November 3, 2006 Dusty asked Lucy to testify for him in court — against Craig. At Memorial, Paul got smoochy with Nurse Meg and they joked about eloping while Craig and Johnny watched from the hall. Once Paul was headed for Java, Craig called Emily. Minutes later, Emily "ran into" Paul and told her all about Craig's visitation papers. Paul rushed back to Memorial ASAP. Already there, Craig brought Johnny to see Meg. Pseudo-snarky flirtation ensued. Across town, Dusty told Lucy that only prison would stop Craig — "and you're the person who can put him there." He brought up Craig kidnapping Peyton List-Lucy and never being charged. Current Lucy observed that Dusty was acting just like her father. (Insert obligatory Elektra Complex joke here.) At Memorial, Craig wanted Meg to tell him all about Johnny's illness, "because you're not sentimental and you don't lie." Naturally, Paul walked in, barking, "What the hell are you doing here?" (Craig actually covered the baby's ears.) Meg wasn't happy at Paul's overprotective 'tude. Lucy pointed out that Dusty was treating her like a pawn and then warned him that he was playing into Craig's hands. "We don't want to play our trump card too soon," she advised. Meg wondered if she and Paul could "butt out" of the Craig-Dusty debacle. Not so much, no. Paul said he wouldn't talk about Craig...if Meg didn't talk to him. (Yeah, he went there.) At the Lakeview, Craig returned Johnny to Dusty and then Lucy spelled things out: If Craig didn't drop his custody plans, she'd testify against him for kidnapping her. Meg told Paul it wasn't his place to boss her around. (Amen, sister!) She stalked off, as he sputtered.
Katie told Mike she's not pregnant while, in Milltown, Carly told Jack that she and Simon are "strictly business." So, what was that kiss? "It's not really your business!" Carly exclaimed. Jack actually responded fairly and the Snyder exes split off like mature adults. "Last night didn't seem like just business," Simon said. Carly blasted him for his ill-timed jealousy and assured him that her words weren't just for Jack's benefit. Besides, "it wasn't a unique experience for you, was it?" "Honestly, yeah it was," he replied, praising her strength. Carly pointed out that he's a world traveler and she's got kids. He dismissed that excuse with "You're still hung up on Jack." At the cottage, Katie felt devastated and told Mike, "Maybe I'm not supposed to be a mother." Mike was annoyed by Katie's histrionics. "We haven't been married a year." Children didn't have to define them! She shooed him off to his meeting, promising, "You're going to come back to a sane wife." "I think you're hung up on him like a fly on flypaper," Simon continued. "I want to encourage you to fly." He topped this off with a patented Simon Frasier swooping kiss. (You know the kind.) Carly accused him of still being on the rebound. Why had he come to Oakdale? For Katie. Simon denied that he was still into Katie and slammed out when Carly stuck to her business-only guns. At the cottage, Katie tearfully sifted through a box of old Simon memories (with Malta and wedding flashbacks). "I have to let this go," she murmured. Jack returned to Milltown, only to hear Carly leaving Simon a heartfelt message about giving their relationship a shot. And as Katie went to trash her box o' stuff, Simon showed up at the door.
Thursday, November 2, 2006 At the Lakeview, Katie wrote off her queasiness as "nerves." "Think babies," cheered Mike, going to take a call. Vienna then strolled in, announcing that Simon "left us for Carly!" Meanwhile, in Milltown, Carly finished a call with Simon as Jack came by. Jack apologized for giving her a hard time with the prince. Poor hungover Vienna waxed poetic about Simon. Katie told her she needed a good man like Mike ('Mienna' forever!). Katie glowed about her perfect life — but Vienna diminished the glow by telling Katie she'd seen Simon and Carly "burning with love." Katie was rocked by the revelation that Carly and Simon had actually Done The Deed. Carly assured Jack everything was copasetic. Well, what turned her into such a "daredevil"? Had Simon hurt her? "You can always turn to me," he reminded. Carly wondered if Jack was saying they had a chance but JJ interrupted the discussion. Later, Simon arrived with a suitcase full of cash from the fenced jewels. Katie's smugness vanished. Vienna buoyed her up with a, "Be brave, Katie, my little sister," and headed for a good wallow on the Continent. When Mike returned, he told Katie he had a big job offer and interview in Chicago. "You can't leave me!" she cried, feeling extra-queasy. Mike calmed her, urging her to take a pregnancy test. Later at the cottage, a grim Katie emerged with the results. Carly and Simon giggled over their money. Jack witnessed their joyous kiss and walked in, decidedly less apologetic than before. He flat out asked if Carly and Simon were together or not. In the Lakeview lobby, Craig fed Emily some info about a crucial meeting with Tom. As Dusty and Lucy wandered downstairs, glowing and looking couple-y, Emily nailed her cue and told them all about Craig's next scheme, fanning those paranoia flames. Dusty and Lucy rushed to skip town with packed bags and milk drinkin' Johnny but Tom regretfully informed Dusty that Craig had been given temporary visitation...effective immediately. "You're not touching my son," Dusty growled while Tom calmly outlined the terms of the order. "How could you be so cruel?" Lucy asked her father. And if Dusty didn't relinquish Johnny, Craig could take him by force. Craig even used the words "custody battle." Dusty didn't want Johnny pulled from his arms, so he decided to quietly hand the boy over. "Don't be a good boy," he murmured, wryly. Sure enough, Johnny got crabby, fussing as Craig took him. Craig thanked Tom for his help and looked forward to taking Johnny to Fairwinds and showing him all his new toys. When Emily walked up, he told her there was one more thing she needed to do for him. Nearby, Lucy theorized there had to be some way they could deny Craig access to Johnny. "There is," Dusty murmured, "and you're it."
Wednesday, November 1, 2006 At Oakdale U, Casey pounded on a faux slasher and Maddie pulled him off the guy. At the ball, Gwen wondered if Adam would really want to promote her career. Besides, "we might end up getting Jade, too," she told Will, citing Jade's "one night" appeal with Munson boys. Jade and Adam made a hasty exit as Luke distracted Lucinda. She wasn't havin' it, though. Luke stopped her from speed-dialing Lily and tattling on Jade. Elsewhere, Maddie told Casey he couldn't go around beating people up and asked him to stop treating her like a victim. Lucinda wondered why Luke was defending Jade and he asked his grandmother to give his cousin a shot. "She's family," he reminded. Outside Lily's, Adam asked Jade for her deal one last time. Maddie railed at Casey for kissing her like she's his sister and he confessed his vulnerability about her rape. Their next kiss? Not so brotherly! In Gwen's dorm room, she and Will took advantage of her roommate's absence. Outside Lily's, Jade told Adam all about her baby lie (naturally with a pro-Jade slant). Adam admitted her scheme was twisted, "but I'm not going anywhere." After mulling over the additional revelation that she's Rose's daughter, Adam asked Jade if he could see her again. Back at OU, the kegfests and craziness didn't interrupt Will and Gwen or Casey and Maddie's couple-y cuteness. Dusty defended Lucy to Barbara (yet again) and told Babs to shape up or "say goodbye to your grandson for good!" Nearby, Paul nixed going home with an amorous Meg so he could obsess over Craig. Ouch! Meanwhile, Emily told Craig she'd betray him a "thousand times over" if it meant helping Johnny. After she took Dusty's side in the parenting debate, Craig took a different approach, talking about the loss of Emily's daughter and Paul's passion for Meg. Inside the ballroom, Barbara backed down (for now) before Dusty took Lucy and Johnny upstairs. A few feet away, Margo and Tom argued about him working for Craig. In Barbara's suite, Dusty put Johnny down and Lucy revealed her fears about Craig. The schemer in question, meanwhile, offered to help Emily with Paul in exchange for help with Johnny. She walked off (obviously thinking it over). In the ballroom, a huffy Meg was on her way out when Paul publicly apologized for taking her for granted and re-proposed to her "with God and Detective Hughes as my witness." Lucy realized she'd forgotten about her doctor date! "I don't want to leave you," she told Dusty, longingly. Craig and Emily watched Paul and Meg dance and Craig did his best Iago, whispering sibilant things in Em's ear. Craig's efforts proved victorious as Em asked him, "What would I have to do?" Upstairs, Lucy admitted she liked being with Dusty and sheepishly moved to leave. Dusty made with the sexy hand touching and they almost kissed before she fled. Downstairs, Craig told Emily to just keep pretending to be Dusty's ally. "In the end, I get everything I want," he crowed.
Tuesday, October 31, 2006 As Jade's myriad enemies lined up, she teared up and ran. Adam and Luke both gave chase. "I don't care about Jade," Gwen assured Casey, Will and Maddie. Adam returned to tell them Jade was crying in the ladies room and wondered what exactly had gone down with the gang. They remained tight-lipped. Casey and Lisa were still bent on Gwen singing, so Adam relented, "Let's do it." Crying jag over, Jade urged Luke to get his lecture over with. "Stop lying," he advised, succinctly. Jade wondered why that pack o' liars couldn't forgive her. Nearby, Adam was itchin' to find his date but when Gwen started serenading the small crowd, he was entranced. Adam admitted Gwen was good but could use polish. Having given his opinion, he went in pursuit of Jade. Victorious Casey and Maddie headed back to the dorms while Will and Gwen stuck around. Jade thanked Luke for his advice and then Adam asked her, "Why is everyone against you?" On campus, Casey and Maddie cracked open some sodas and then got romantic. As their kisses grew heated, somebody in a mask with a knife burst in! Determined to get the 411, Adam offered to take Jade home instead of cousin Luke. Inside, Will told Gwen that he wanted to back her music career and share her dream. Simon went in search of Vienna's hidden treasures as Carly remembered how Princess Grace had died in a car crash. She cautioned speed demon Dolly to "pull over" as police sirens blared. "Indianapolis is that way," snarked Jack, leaning into the window and offering to guide them back to the hotel. Back there, drunk Vienna put the moves on Simon again. Jack warned the prince and Carly to stick to the Lakeview. Before Dolly could squire Carly up to his penthouse, he learned that Vienna had gone AWOL with his bling! Jack and Carly traded some charged one-liners after the prince left. Upstairs, Vienna finally passed out and there was pounding at the door. Dolly and Carly burst in and Carly spied the jewels still firmly around V's neck. Adolfo had Vienna whisked away to his private suite to prevent a press frenzy and thanked Simon for "assisting" her. Once the door shut behind them, Carly blasted Simon for not holding up his end of the bargain. Mid-tirade, Simon pulled out the real jewels. He'd pulled off a swap! Giddy Carly and Simon reveled in their victory. "It was almost better than sex," Carly sighed. "Nothing is better than sex," assured Simon, pouncing her.
Monday, October 30, 2006 Adam invited Jade to the ball with him and she balked when she realized he was Will's brother. At the shindig, Gwen was balking, too...at the prospect of serenading Adam when he showed up. Casey went to make arrangements as Will and Maddie gave Gwen their vote of confidence. Back at the club, Jade gave her condolences about Hal to Adam and then admitted that she'd made enemies of Will and Casey. Smitten Adam offered to squire her incognito! So, would she go? Yep! Masked Jade and tuxed Adam arrived at the ball dressed to kill. After they split off, Will and Casey ribbed their bro about his mystery date and he blew off hearing Gwen sing (again). Then Maddie recognized Jade while she chatted with Luke. She confronted her nemesis, who shed her mask in front of Will, Gwen, Adam, Luke and Casey. In the ballroom, the dashing magician vanished Craig but had a misfire bringing Craig back. Dusty shook down "Magic Boy," demanding answers. "Dusty, put him down!" Jack cried. Meg advised that Paul ignore this, but Paul bristled instead. Dusty then slammed into the Lakeview Towers, frantic to find Johnny. Lucinda, Margo and the gang all boggled over Craig's shenanigans. Paul ran off to hunt down Craig on the hotel grounds and then Meg was called to attend to a sick guest. Upstairs, Barbara snarled, "Maybe your father kidnapped him the way he kidnapped Cabot!" at Lucy — as Chaz emerged with Johnny. Hmmm. So where was Craig? If you guessed he's the sick guest, you get a prize (okay, you don't). Nurse Meg wasn't impressed! Lucinda told Katie that WorldWide wanted to re-issue Oakdale Confidential with addendums. Katie fretted, but Mike told Katie she wasn't turning down the offer. Tom and Emily conferred on Craig's whereabouts and living in "Craig's world." In the Towers, Dusty stopped Babs from attacking Lucy (again). Elsewhere, Craig offered Meg a truce, warning her that Paul will "bleed her dry." When Meg grew sick of the conversation, he quit talking and kissed her! Supportive Mike praised Katie's writing and wooed her upstairs to do what they do best. After Dusty left, Barbara warned Lucy that Dusty and her grandson were off-limits. Meg slapped Craig and stalked off. A messenger then presented a pleased Craig with papers. Later, Dusty attacked someone Craig-like in the mist. Chaz interrupted the Babs-Lucy row by literally carrying Barbara to her room. Then, there was a knock at the door. "I hope that's your daddy," Lucy told Johnny. It was — Daddy Craig.
