ATWT Recaps Week of November 13, 2006

Friday, November 17, 2006
Gwen, Adam and the band packed up after recording "Slide." At Java, Jade informed Will that the session was going to last all night and offered to buy him a cup of coffee. After all, if it weren't for her, he would've graduated months ago. After overhearing a cryptic comment, Gwen asked Adam exactly what had happened back in L.A. Over coffee, Jade sowed seeds of doubt about Rock Star Gwen in Will's mind. Adam shot down Gwen's questions about a "thing that fell through," but they kept bonding and then Adam played her a sample song. Naturally, that's when Will walked in. Adam watched the giddy Munsons skip out. When they got home, Gwen found the makings of Will's celebration and belatedly remembered to ask about the GED. They kissed and cuddled and she cheered her hubby for always making her happy. At the studio, Jade walked up on Adam groovin' to Gwen's voice.

At the cottage, Mike wasn't impressed by Katie's get-up. She contacted Henry via walkie-talkie and asked him to open the door. At the Lakeview, Simon admitted he'd kept one teensy rock from their Vienna heist. "It's so pretty," he chanted, waving it front of Carly. "It's evidence!" she cried, calling him "insane." He viewed it as a special reminder of their night together. She assured him that she was fond of him, but she didn't want to go to jail. "Admit it, you're worried about Detective Jack," he accused. Henry told Mike he had his best interests at heart, which earned him a "Get lost!" Then, Katie made another pitch for forgiveness. When Mike cited her pattern with Simon, she pointed out, "You've slept with half the women in this town." She even brought up Nick and pleaded with him to remember that "I am more than my mistakes." Ouch. Carly admitted she wouldn't feel right wearing the bling in front of Jack. After her speech, Simon offered to throw it away. What?! Back at Chez Kasnoff, Mike sighed, "I remember everything," (just like Pacey on DAWSON'S CREEK), but that didn't make a difference. Katie still loved Simon and it just wouldn't be fair to either of them. He said goodbye and walked out. Elsewhere, Carly snagged back the necklace, cooing over it. And then she cooed over Simon. "How I feel about you...I just want to make you happy," he sighed. While they toasted with bubbly, Katie arrived to tell Henry their plan hadn't worked. Of course, she spied snuggly Carly and Simon. She grew enraged, concluding that Simon had never loved her, and was suddenly inspired to add some pages to Oakdale Confidential...pages about revenge.

Meanwhile, Craig paced outside the courtroom as his lawyer pointed out that Lucy's testimony would send him straight to trial. "I'm not asking you to walk on water. Just keep me out of the penal system," he told her, certain that Lucy would come around. At Java, Lucy and Dusty talked about her pending testimony. "He's playing with your mind," Dusty told Lucy of Craig. "All you gotta do is tell the truth." Lucy walked into the courtroom where Craig was waxing poetic about his kids to his lawyer — and gloating that last night would change Lucy's mind. Realizing he'd arranged Dusty's crash, Lucy interrupted to warn him he could be facing attempted murder charges. "I'm onto you," she said, concluding that Craig was going to kill Dusty if she testified. "You're giving me far too much credit," Craig scoffed, but admitted that "accidents happen." Dusty happened upon a freaked Lucy, who passed along her fear that he'd be, well, dusted. Unconcerned Dusty told her to stay calm. Later, Lucy was called to the stand. And as the first question was posed, she froze, remembering, "Accidents happen...."

Who's the bigwig Adam's musician friends are connected to in the biz?

Will aced a GED practice test hours before taking the real deal. Yay! As he and Gwen celebrated with couple-y naked things, someone pounded on the door. "It's my mom," bet Will, getting up to answer. Nope, it was Adam, saying he and Gwen had to record right now! Gwen dressed, kissed her hubby "good luck" and rushed out. Once at the studio, Gwen was met by Maddie and Casey — and surprise session musicians that Gwen knew by name! Casey hit Adam up for coffee cash and a little extra, which wigged Maddie. Meanwhile, the idea of working with Grammy-winning musicians freaked out Gwen. At Java, Maddie wondered why Casey needed more money. "I'm making an early Christmas list," he joked. Then he flat out forgot about their date that night. In his arrogant way, Adam made Gwen see that she could work with the famous guys. Jade walked in on them connecting and had to take a raincheck on a date. Over at Chez Munson Junior, Will called and left Gwen a message. Maddie told Casey she was proud of him for skipping dates and studying so hard. Hmmmm. At Rock Star Central, Gwen and the band got their groove on recording "Slide" (which you can download on iTunes starting today). "That was probably one of the top five best times of my life," Gwen cheered. Taskmaster Adam gave her mad props and she hugged him. At Java, Jade ran into Will buying a cake to celebrate taking the GED. She informed him that cake wouldn't be cut any time soon.

"It was a steal," Simon murmured as a jeweler gave him a brand-new diamond necklace. Carly, meanwhile, was at the farm wanting to explain her and Simon to Jack. No thanks, he'd seen enough. And he didn't want to hear about her love life, remember? Jack told her not to come running to him the next time Simon hurt her. "Okay," said a befuddled Carly. Then, Simon called to invite her to the Lakeview and Mike showed up, shocked to hear that Carly had forgiven the adulterous Aussie. "I think you should do the same with Katie," Carly advised him. Carly rationalized her relationship with Simon, confident that he was over Katie. "When did you become so gullible?" Mike mused. Carly countered that men like him and Jack married bad girls and then cut and ran. Mike admitted he loved Katie but couldn't forgive her. Elsewhere, Simon had to explain his surprise plans to a nosy waiter and then contend with Jack! Curious about the snazzy jewelry case, Jack whistled, "That's nice!" at the bling. At the farm, Carly asked if Mike was sure he wanted to say goodbye to Katie. Mike then got a call from Henry and Carly headed for the Lakeview, where Jack was giving Simon not-so-friendly advice. "Don't lie to her," he warned. "Don't use her, and don't underestimate her. Or she'll walk." When Carly arrived, Simon slid over the bling. Carly "Oh, Simon"-ed - especially when she recognized the rock from Vienna's necklace! "Are you completely out of your mind?" she gasped.

Angsty Katie came downstairs at the cottage and moped about Mike on the couch (yes, the one she and Simon christened). Henry popped by, bringing in the laptop Mike had chucked out the door. Her old pal dusted off his shoulder and his handkerchief as Katie spilled the whole sordid Simon deal. "Are you gonna do it again?" he wondered. "No!" she said, assuring him she was cured. Riiiight. Henry marveled at always being involved with women in love with other men. "Always the bridesmaid, never the bride!" he sighed. But don't worry, he'd help her get Mike back. His crazy plan involved him smacking his thumb with a hammer and Katie, too, fiddling with many of Mike's DIY projects. "Think vixen," he urged her. Henry then called Mike, concocting a story about important papers by the fireplace and Katie drinking. Mike booked it over so he could collect his papers and Henry quickly exited. When Mike tried to follow, the door wouldn't open! Mike turned and found Katie coming down the stairs, dressed to kill.

At the Lakeview, Katie told Simon that writing down their tryst was something Margo had advised. "Margo ain't Dr. Phil," cracked Simon as the exes took opposing viewpoints on their romp. Meanwhile, Mike came home to the cottage and flashed back on the lurid laptop. As Katie made Simon out to be the villain, he took on the blame for Paris Hilton's musical career, too, (Ha! We knew it!) and then apologized for what happened and urged her to go fight for Mike. Him? He was going to try and "sway Carly." They wished each other luck and then Katie headed home...where she found Mike packed and ready to go. "Please don't leave me!" she cried (for the fourteenth time this week). She suggested counseling and time but Mike wasn't having it. "I want to be the only man you love," he told her, adding, "Once I walk out that door, I'm never coming back." Katie tried to remind Mike of all the memories they'd made at the cottage. Mike countered with things there that were Simon-related (like its existence?). He took off his wedding ring, saying, "You might want to put this in your next box of memories." Katie made another heartfelt plea, but he tossed aside the ring and walked out.

Emily was shocked to hear from Susan that Dusty's car crashed. Meanwhile, Meg was forced to give Craig an alibi for Dusty's accident. "We're not finished," Dusty warned Craig, telling Craig he'd kill him if he hurt Lucy. (Yes, he did that in front of Dallas.) Paul echoed the threats. (Also in front of Dallas.) Probably realizing her dad was due to be offed, Lucy took Craig aside to tell him that he hurt her by hurting Dusty. Later, Craig thanked Meg for "standing up to the angry mob." After that, Paul lectured Meg about Craig again. Cue a fight. Nearby, Emily blasted Craig for fiddling with Dusty's brakes. When Paul got suspicious, Emily admitted to seeing Craig with a vial and worrying for Lucy. Dallas returned to say that Craig was free to go. Once Craig was gone, Paul gave Emily kudos for trying to prove Craig's guilt. Stung, Meg walked away and lashed out at Craig for causing trouble. "Paul's paranoid. Please don't let him make you paranoid, too," Craig urged. Meg told him to stay away, bid a cool adieu to Paul, and left. Paul then asked Em for a "favor," asking her to pass on more of Craig's suspicious deeds. This amused Craig mightily. Later, Paul came home to Meg, who said she'd told Craig off. "Words are not going to work," he noted, reading her the riot act for not doing more to take Craig down. Meg was appalled by his attitude and stormed out. Spooked Emily told Craig their partnership was off but he convinced her to hang in there and keep plotting. At Memorial, Lucy assured Dusty her testimony would be fine. "I love you, Dusty Donovan," she whispered, swearing she'd never let Craig hurt him again.

Carly began unloading on Jack about Simon, saying, "I picked the wrong guy." She told Jack she'd had a normal life with him but "didn't know how to hold on to it." Jack poured himself a cuppa as Carly kvetched. "I'm thinking of joining a convent," she laughed. "I'd give you a week," Jack chuckled...before telling her this confessional hour felt a "little phony." He told her that he didn't want to know about her problems with Simon but then admitted he missed her and missed being a family. He loved her and this was why he didn't want to know about her love life: "I want to be your love life." Naturally, Simon burst in on this heartfelt confession. An irate Jack offered to "help" him leave but then a work call pulled Jack away. Simon tried to explain the Katie sex to Carly, telling her that he'd realized, "I wanna be with you." "Couldn't you have just played eenie-meenie-miney-moe?" Carly wondered. They hashed things out and the tone got less angry and more tender as Carly mused that maybe sleeping with Katie had been a good thing "in the long run." But how did she know Simon wouldn't go back to make "extra sure" things were over? Simon told her he was 100 percent sure. What about monogamy? Could he do that? "I can do monogamy," he assured, "if you still want me." Fortunately, she did. Jack walked up just in time to see them kissing through the kitchen window. Ouch.

An irate Mike hauled off and punched Simon in the face, announcing to Carly that Simon had slept with Katie. Carly realized that Simon and Katie had been doing the deed while she was trying to call him about their relationship. Katie brought up Carly and Mike's own tryst before Carly's wedding to Jack, but that didn't hold much weight. "You're disgusting!" Carly told Simon before dubbing Katie the town's new tramp. "Let 'em have each other," Mike advised Carly. Despite Mike's attitude, Katie was still bent on assuring Mike she loves him. "I don't need that kinda crazy in my life," he growled. He told Katie to grow up, then he stalked off. Carly blasted Simon for the pretty skeevy "sex with me, sex with her, sex with me again!" thing and also for hurting Mike. "See ya around," she said before walking away. When he was alone with Katie again, Simon noted, "Confessions? Good for the soul. Not so good for a marriage." He bitterly congratulated Katie for making Carly "run for the hills." Later, Carly came by the farm to see Jack and told him she'd made a mess of things (no kidding!).

At the Snyders, a newly-aged Faith wondered what nice surprise Holden had planned for Lily. Well, it involved a night out, but Lily was in no mood to leave the house. Feeling mighty bummed about all the baby weight the coma prevented her from losing, Lily fled upstairs — leaving Jade wondering what was going on. Not seeming too concerned about Lily nixing their plans, Holden fled to meet with a client. Lily, meanwhile, warned Jade away from chips since they end up on your hips (But they taste so good!). Lily came back from a shower feeling less down on the chips but still down on herself. "Give yourself a break!" Jade urged. Lily thanked her for the ensuing ego boost and then sent her off to Java. Later, Lily explained to Faith that she didn't feel pretty. "That's crazy, you're beautiful!" Faith said. At Java, Jade walked in and spied Holden laughing with some blond woman!

At Meg's, Paul fiercely assured her, "I am never gonna stop fighting for you!" Over at Java, Henry made the sign of the cross when Emily revealed she'd thrown in with Craig. Craig himself visited Lucy at Memorial to remind her, "I'm still your father." Out on some road, Dusty was car-crashed and out cold. He soon woke, got himself out of the car, and ineffectually bellowed for help. Craig and Lucy went ten rounds about Johnny and Dusty. Across town, Paul helped woozy Meg onto the couch and told her, "I'm going to war with Craig and I need you on my side." Henry reminded Emily about the "collateral damage" of Rosanna Cabot. Well, what if Craig could get her what she wanted? Jack came by Meg's to echo Paul's warnings about Craig while Lucy assured Craig she loves him but admitted she can't understand how he sees the world. Meanwhile, Paul found crashed Dusty on the side of the road and urged him to "stay with me." (Would their pairing name be 'Pasty'?) As Paul called 911, Dusty told him the brakes had been sabotaged. Craig promised to never hurt Lucy again but she refused to drop the charges. Emily assured Henry she knew her limits. "Sweetheart, Paul is the problem," he reminded, telling Em he couldn't watch her self-destruct again. Jack cited the old Craig-Carly connection and seemed to finally get through to Meg. "Maybe I'll play Craig," she mused. Uh-oh. Dusty was rushed into Memorial, interrupting Lucy and Craig's chat. Dallas told everyone that Dusty's brake lines had been tampered with. Lucy automatically concluded that Craig had done it. "That's absurd!" Craig cried. When Meg arrived, Craig cited her as his alibi (and Paul gave her an "I told you so" face).

Paul dropped by the Snyder farm looking for Meg but found just Jack (not to be confused with WILL & GRACE's Just Jack). Meg, meanwhile, had a dizzy spell right in a heroic Craig's vicinity. (Coincidence? We think not!) Concerned Paul called around but still couldn't find Meg. Despite some initial snide remarks, Jack gave Paul some sound advice about Craig's interest in Meg. Elsewhere, Craig helped a nauseated Meg out of her clothes and made preparations in case she decided to "baptize the couch." He was willing to sit with her all night if he had to. "Even monsters have their moments," Craig smiled — moments before Paul burst in. Paul comforted sick Meg and politely thanked Craig for his help, though some passive-aggressive Meg kiss and Lucy testimony comments were traded before Craig left. Once Craig was gone, Paul turned his snarkiness on Meg, sniping about Craig catching her bug via kisses. Shocked Meg called the kiss at the ball "a drive-by." She elaborated, "He grabbed, I slapped, that's it!" Cue a big ol' fight. "You lied to me again!" insecure Paul accused...as viewers experienced a big case of Rose/Dusty déjà vu. (Has Meg seen that wedding video?)

Meanwhile, Lucy made a statement about her coffin kidnapping at Java and won kudos from Dusty for her efforts. Double kudos came when Dusty realized Lucy was wearing his old medallion around her neck. "I wanted to wear this as some sort of symbol," she sighed. As they made couple-y eyes at each other, Emily interrupted with more planted news from Craig. She told Dusty all about Craig, a mysterious drug, and Craig's insistence that Lucy wouldn't testify. "I'm going to stop Craig before somebody gets hurt!" Dusty promised, leaping up. Later, Craig came by to gloat with Emily about the headway he'd made with Meg (and to complain about the sad state of his car's upholstery). And where was Dusty? In his own car, racing to get to Lucy. Sans brakes. Gulp.

Meanwhile, Simon and Carly basked in the afterglow of Simon's latest round of sex. This time was different, noted Carly, "because we're free." At the cottage, Katie realized Mike had done some light reading in her absence. "It was just an accident," Katie blurted out of her erotic scribblings. Oh...so she didn't really sleep with Simon? Speaking of Oakdale's new official sport (let's call it "Frasiering"), Carly jumped out of bed, remembering she had to say goodnight to the kids at the farm. Simon offered to drive her there and Carly called Jack to make sure that would be okay. (How grown up!) Under duress, Katie 'fessed up to her night with Simon — but kept assuring Mike she loves him. Fortunately, he wasn't havin' it. Especially when he realized Katie had only come home tonight after finding out Simon had stayed with Carly. "How could you do that to me?" Chopped Liver Kasnoff demanded. At the Snyder farm, Carly bonded with the kids while Jack and Simon made with the manly posturing. "I would never do anything to hurt your kids," Simon said. "You already have!" Jack said, citing the Spiro shenanigans. "It's all good," Simon assured him. When Carly emerged, Simon made the same assurances to her. Not so assuring was Mike. "I'm outta here!" he told Katie, blasting her for acting on her feelings for Simon (and even bringing up his feelings for Jennifer! Gasp!) Later, Katie followed moody Mike to the Lakeview. Naturally, Simon and Carly walked in. (Tune in tomorrow to see who gets punched in the face!)
